A piece of junk, don’t buy any VW, SUV they manufactured for US market, I agree they did good design for US market, but very very poor quality, I have bought Tiguan 2018 and Atlan 2019 premium top version, many recall for Tiguan and engine light came out 3 times for Atlan within 1 year and less than 10K miles, service Centre is the place you have to go for many times, honestly recommend don’t buy it, after selling 2 piece of junks, I bought Lexus NX, great car !!
Think I'd spring for the Kia Telluride. There's nothing about this Atlas that sets it apart from the rest of the pack and it's a tad down power too. That motor with 5 or 6 people, their stuff and the AC on might cause it to struggle a bit in hilly situations.
I have that color personally too, platinum gray, but on the Tiguan SE. I like the Atlas but I may go with a Telluride if I go that large. Great review Joe!

a joke about this engine compartment: instead of rear luggage storage space, vw is very sweet that they also prepare a front luggage storage space for their customers
For around $45K, VW really cheapened out the interior considering being an R-Line model. No standard panoramic roof, power assist for the front passenger seat and still looks plasticky all around. I would've like to see that door trim extended to the 2nd row customers too. Despite all the cons, still loved your review Joe.
Hi There! Please make a review for 2021 Atlas sel premium with RLINE package. What are the difference now with Rline package. Coz the 2019 Atlas sel premium with Rline package. The power folding mirror, area view / 360 camera, and park assist. All of this are deleted when you get a Rline package. Now in 2021 Atlas sel premium with Rline package are they still deleted features????Thanks
Raiti's Rides Hi there! Thank you for your reply.I can't wait to see your video review for 2021 atlas sel premium rline package. It's gonna be a lot of information need to know about atlas 2021 most specially with NEW RLINE package features? Thanks
Just rented one. Youre right about this car. Gas mileage sucks. Didn’t feel naturally aspirated. Feels like an electronic take off. Car is super super quite cabin is noise free max speed was 110-115. Feels wobbly on turns at high speeds but smooth as hell cant tell if the car is running or off. I wouldnt buy it but its big as shit has lots of room. Third row fold down. But cheap interior.
Damnit Joe you could sell me sand in the desert. I already have a new car but I could really see the family rolling in da Atlas. Gr8 review as always and now I also have a need for a #5 Vito from JJs! With hot peppers of course. Ha
Few drawbacks of Atlas are - power should have been 300hp or more to sprint faster than 9sec 0-60; better led headlamps and better ride comfort over bumpy roads.
This really is a good looking suv. Volkswagen needs to bring some of that styling back to their cars. Cause they're just boring looking. Imo. Volkswagen and Audi need to knock it off with their fake exhausts! This is a horrible automotive trend.
Nice work Joey bag o' donuts. Sorry VW, I am simply not a fan of the looks nor the proportions of this vehicle. KIA drew a line in the sand with the Telluride and I have yet to see any larger SUV for the money compete. Capt. Content crushing it !!
I wish it had better performance and torque. The design is aggressive and bold. The interior is nice, if you can do 2021 would be great. Joe please please please can you do the GMC Yukon Denali AT4, Cadillac Escalade 2021. Mercedes benz V class its a cool car as I hear. Thanks a lot.
Would rather have the Touareg. But I guess it was a weird model to have since Volkswagen is trying to make their brand to appear as “non-luxury”. Had a Phaeton with the 4.2L V8 overseas. Those were the golden days of VW.
we dont have in europe this big vw this one its made in usa or mexico i see in tijuana big big vw factory more then 20 years ago joe vw is a very big company all around the world has factory end one more time you are the best big ciao

NIce review Joe, TBH, I wouldn’t touch a German car with a 10 ft. Pole... Lease yes, Buy NO... Ive had a horror story with my previous car, a 2012 BMW X5 , bought in April 2019 with 94k miles and unfortunately didn’t research it prior to buying .. i was lured in by the luxurious apppointments, nice ride of the X5 and it was my first ever SUV, but within 8 LONG months i sunk nearly $2,500 into it... I couldn’t give it away and took a major loss on trade in for my beautiful 2013 Lexus ES350 with only 30k miles. In general, all German cars are empty $ pits as they get over 5 years old and 50k miles especially BMW’s ! Lexus (Toyota) for me all day & everyday. VW’s poor reliability, high repair costs are the reasons why they depreciate faster than a Ferrari , could say the same for BMW, Audi and Mercedes
JOE ~ I'm just glad it comes with an engine lol, the interior left me yawning with extreme boredom, I'd take an Audi any day over a VW (for my birthday that's coming up. .... hint hint) love ya bro- tony

I totally agree with you!
I love this Atlas, Joe! It looks amazing!
I really like the look of it as well!
As a previous owner, I didn’t recommend this car for any users, because VW lacks of the risk assessment for parts their suppliers provided
At least this has the VR6 which is one of VW’s more reliable engines. I love the VR6 architecture, it’s more unique that a typical V6
That is a very good point!
