A friend and I both have the Torro (Taigen) 1/16 Sherman 76mm, which have the tracks with the duckbills. We both have an issue with these tracks where the duckbills get pushed up by terrain, which pulls the pin out enough to get past the knurling, at which point the pins work their way out and get bent. The small pin protrusion on the duckbills also get broken. Have you had the same issue? I'm thinking about switching to the Mato tracks because it looks like the duckbills are cast into the track links.

22:22 - it's not that simple swap. Taigen wheels have bearing and metal bushing with different diameter than Heng Long plastic insterts. You have to use HL scew to hold it and the wheel will wobble a little.

Could you maybe answer a newbie question? What is the difference between Torro and Taigen and what makes one pick one version over the other? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

From what I gather the two are the same. Torro tanks are generally found in Europe and does the distribution there. In the US and N. America the tanks normally have the Tiagen branding but are the same model and RC equipment. Also From what I have seen there are some kits that are specific to torro, these would include the Jagdtiger and the Panther II. These two models are still available in the US under the torro brand and are distributed by IMEX, who also does their own branding on the Tiagen models for the US distribution
