Inside A Gloucestershire Home Where Creativity and Sustainability Meet

Few can claim that every aspect of their home, down to the building itself, is their own creation. However, this is the case for Rebecca Aird and Peter Thwaites, the creative minds behind Rapture & Wright.
Their journey began in Gloucestershire, where they discovered a dilapidated stable, frigid in winter and scorching in summer. The space was tiny, often visited by sheep, with a cowshed next door. Despite these challenges, they were committed to constructing a sustainable home that could double as a laboratory. After seven years of hard work, the result is a house with six bedrooms and a utility room.
The main stable area has been converted into an open kitchen, dining, and living space. Peter designed the kitchen, including the cabinet doors and tiles. To add character and break up the large area, they incorporated thin, horizontal beams on the ceiling and added curves to the walls to soften the corners.
