Absolutely beautiful! My yiayia (grandmother) used to sing this in Greek every New Year's Day. How awesome to hear the melody played the way you do on hammered dulcimer! Thanks!
Awe, that's a beautiful story. I love it. :) Thank you for sharing this with me. I'm glad I could bring back good memories for you. Thanks for watching.
Ted... I wish you had a great deal more subscribers... Keep bringing us such beautiful music. I look forward to your future compilations. Thank you!!!!
hey ICC chorale (that you played Sail Away for) sang this on a tv holiday broadcast a few years ago except it was called Kalenta of the New Year and i didnt even know it had an HD part til yesterday and i wished they had had one.
Ha. They were singing loud and strong weren't they? They always seem to enjoy when I come to play but what they don't know is that I like playing with them. :)
Thank you very much. This song is on my brand new album and is available on my site www.tedyoder.com , iTunes and Spotify. It's got a wonderful cello on the recording.
That was beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing it. Would love to be able to do that piece. Am so determined to concentrate on bettering my playing this year! I love New Year, so many opportunities!
Gracias Nessa. This piece is a tough one to play for most players just because it has so much hand independence. I might try to make a video teaching one way to play this song. Let me know if that interests you. Happy New Year.
Question: In the video, you played outdoor. No other sounds interfered your music. How is it possible? I used to go to a school for the deaf where there is a barn in the back when I wanted to meditate. I brought Andrea Boccelli's CD and boy, it sounded beautifully. It sounded so much better there than in my house. Of course, I had it full blast and I sat on the barn platform and listened. I would have like that with your music. ((grin))
We usually get quit a lot of traffic down our road so I'm not sure why there wasn't a car going by or something. Sometimes the tree frogs and cicadas are pretty loud too. I think it was just the perfect time to be outside. 😁

Your version of St Basil's hymn pulled me right in and wrapped a soft blanket around my heart. Fantastic!
That is beautiful with the birds chirping in the background

Yes this is a traditional Greek carol from the 12th century - sure there have been revisions of it over time
Thank you so much. :) I really love playing that song. I'm glad it's part of my repertoire.
Moro no Brasil ....caso seja possível uma doação de um usado ...ficaria imensamente feliz
Bom dia com alegria e jesus no coração....gostaria de saber, se teria algum instrumento desse usado que queira doar ....

Cool, Ted... I think musical instrument or singing sounds so much better outside. smile
