At the dawn of 2021, he is 19. A recent performance of this piece by Alexander shows how he growing technically and emotionally. He'll be with us for a long time.
I know a lot of people here don't know how demanding it is to play a piano, even if just pressing random keys for few minutes without resting. At this early age, Malofeev does it so effortlessly and with extreme elegance. It's surreal.

This boy is amazing. Who would expect such dynamics from a boy this age. He has an incredible feeling for the music, dynamics, phrasing and extremely accurate in his playing. This boy is destined for greatness. We can only hope that hsi love of the instrument and ability to produce it will prevent him from being "Burned out" at an early age and not blooming into the performer he will has the potential to become. 22 people do not like this. One has to wonder whether they are tone deaf, ignorant of the instrument and jealous of this boy. Behind him stands the greatest prize of all. Will he experience the grandeur, the power, the majesty of the King of Instruments.

First "kid" video where I'm truly impressed. The interpretation isn't just technical but has lots of emotion and feeling aswell. I just wish the recording was better.
Yes, it is a shame that there is a little too much "Room" in the recording. If the microphone had been supported by one closer to the instrument it would have been just fine.
He is on the road to becoming one of the great pianists - he didnt play like a child even at 6 years old, but like a 40 year old master.

Молодец Александр! В этом произведении есть сложные в ритмическом отношении пассажи.Видимо Плетнёв писал для себя.Но ты блестяще справился и с этими пассажами, и с двойными нотами в начале пьесы.Не смотря на свой возраст,Александр хорошо чувствует форму,динамику,фразировку произведения, а также тончайшие оттенки чувств,которые гениальный Чайковский вложил в эту музыку.Поздравляю с великолепным исполнением!!!

I know one of his cousins in third degree . He is an English teacher and lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Rubinstein was second to none. A God in the piano. He didnt play as a robot

If you wonder why he needs to adjust the bench (and it is super cool that it IS adjustable), you've never spent hours upon hours upon days, months and years practicing, sitting on the same bench. You get damn used to it and anything else feels super weird.

You just performed one of the most beautiful pieces ever composed on a descending scale Alexander. Watch your pedal usage. Too heavy , blurring the ‘picture’. Keep this piece in your repertoire. You bring to the listener great joy with your talent!
There is a lot of audio pollution with the reverberation of the hall, especially at the end of the hall
Janet E. Smith Alas, none of us is in a position to suggest anything to Malofeev. He has a brilliant teacher who takes care of everything technical AND musical.
P.S. my opinion differs from yours. His pedaling is NOT too heavy for this piano version of a titanic orchestral piece. When he plays Mozart he pedals appropriately.
