  • Here's another great tip on how to prepare your samples in Reason. Simply drag and drop them into the sequencer and follow Chris Reed's step-by-step guide. Along the way, you'll discover time-saving shortcuts.
The technique of sampling songs or loops has been a staple in hip-hop music since its inception. Reason 12 offers many instruments that can be utilized for creating sample-based beats. Watch the full tutorial here:

I used to LOVE Reason. I have owned every single version they’ve ever made. HOWEVER. Things are getting a bit shaky with the program. Not sure in which direction it’s heading and hard to navigate w confidence in small windows.

This equal grid slicing needs to be automatically created and not manually set by clicking over and over. Too tedious.

The pitch notes are often not accurate, except with vocal samples.
There’s also three modes; All-around, Melody and Vocal, but I have no idea what that actually does.

all round is an all purpose Time stretching works with chords and noise content, Melody is for monophonic instrumental part and vocal is taking care of vocal content without affecting to much the tonal quality of voice it work with monophonic voice not choir, all purpose is working with almost anything .

I think like a lot of people, nobody’s purchasing reason 12 because reason 13 is somewhere on the horizon and nobody wants to pay twice
I’ve always enjoyed playing with reason as a toy, but never really made any songs just because the DAW portion of it was so awkward. Rewire is annoying as well. I’d love to upgrade from version 10 so I can use it as a plug-in in a DAW I’m comfortable with, but I don’t feel like paying 200 bucks now and then another 200 bucks six months from now when an upgrade comes out.plus from all the chatter I’m hearing it doesn’t seem it’s the quality it used to be with this new CEO who is more interested in strange things like calling the main competitor. This guy is convoluted. Focus on the music not on the platform.

      "calling the main competitor" what?

What? Just do the subscription if you don’t wanna pay the 200 bucks. It’s cheaper and you can cancel if you want. Reason is better than ever in my opinion. Can it use some production improvements sure but that never stopped me from making music.

@@okachobired5856 Subscription is renting. There's no way I'm renting my stuff.

I actually miss ReWire. I preferred going back and forth between two programs than using as a VST rack.

If you bought 12 this year, you get an upgrade to 13 for free in case you missed it
