I want to express my gratitude once again for uploading such stimulating artistry in your interviews Smriti. I grew up with French cinema and discovered Satyajit Ray in the process. I was lucky to see and hear Ravi Shankar perform at the age of 90 in Australia where I am based. His works were sensorially intelligent, like those of this incredible artist Mira Nair. She has been so inspirational with her extraordinary ability to write the human experience. The vulnerabilities in her characters have been so relatable. I have long remembered them. I can't wait to watch.xx
Satyajit Ray received the Ramon Magsaysay Award long time back and H.H.The Dalai Lama got the same award today. What a coincidence. One of Asia's highest honors, reversing the spirit demonstrated by people and organizations through altruistic and selfless dedication to the people of Asia. Asians who stand out in their profession and have a reputation for voluntarily serving others without seeking public awareness are eligible for the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
Satyajit Ray was and will always be a Ray of hope to all of us....The greatest film director and writer....your movies sir (RIP) always keeps us going....
Can you please interview only on the topic of Ray with Aparna Sen Sharmila Tagore Barun Chandra Dhritiman Victor Banerjee Amitabh Bachan Jimmy Alter if he has anything to share about his father Tom alter Javed Jaffrey if he has anything to share about Sayied jaffery Among others.
Not these days, the last pioneer was Rituparno Ghosh. Nowadays absolutely mediocre stuff is getting too much mileage cause the bar now is really low, at least in Bengal film industry.
Ja bawa .. Tinu to saagred chilo for 7 films ... and made pure masala films Sujoy Ghosh copied "Running hot water" from Ray ... so was that an evidence of "learning" ? Coppy korle Bappi .. na korleo Dharos!! You are critic par excellence!!!
