If the Sharks finish bottom 5 again, I'm sure they're gonna go for either Porter Martone or Michael Misa. 2 big guys who can skate. Eklund is a Doug Wilson type pick and not really someone Grier would go for.
I’d be curious to see which team takes Matthew Schaefer. Yeah the Sharks have Dickinson but he’s not expected to be a #1 D. Might be hard to pass up Schaefer when there’s such a massive gap between him and the next defenseman in the draft, and not so much of a gap between a Hagens and a Misa.
@@MrJray1120It really feels Sharks go Schaefer or Martone. Martone feels more like a Grier guy, but it’s tough not to go after that true #1 guy like you said
There's no discussion about his skating and offensive ability, but the thing that convinces me that he'll be a sure fire NHL:er is his drive and intensity. His passion for the game really shines and if you have a player with that kind of engagement and top end skill, I don't see how this guy doesn't turn into a top 6 forward in the NHL.
@ Also, not sure if you remember, but I asked for your advice a year ago about how to get into scouting and it has now led me working with DraftProspectHockey. So just wanted to throw a thanks to you for leading me in the right direction :)
@@benpezzot8805 I think he has the skill set to be in the conversation but he's been very disappointing. As of now I think those guys are decisively ahead of him
Is Victor Eklund the Top NHL Prospect out of Sweden for the 2025 NHL Draft class? #nhldraft
I WANT THE SHARKS TO DRAFT THIS GUY SO BAD
Would be great!
Top 10 guy for sure.
It would be hilarious and awesome if the Sharks landed him.

@@CLew9 Martone is 100% above Eklund but if they fall to 5-8 in the draft, you gotta think Eklund would be number one for them
You can tell he’s gonna be good by the way he skates, passes the eye test for sure. Awareness is off the charts too.
Yes indeed! Gonna be tough call between him and Frondell as who first Swede selected will be.

Exactly....when you mix skill with compete and drive...that's a slam dunk for NHL.

Their kind of player for sure!
He is similar in alot of ways to lucas raymond
I would say he's definitely in the top 3. We'll see what the pro scouts and GM's have to say ???
Misa, Schaefer, Hagens, & Martone are all potential #1s. I'd say Eklund is battling for #5 with McQueen and Spence.
I don't think top 3, but he'll be a high pick for sure!
@andystover1013 u forgot frondell for the top 5 he is starting to pick it up and he has some good 2 way game which can be good for an nhl team
