I really needed this video!! At 48 years old, I've taken up doodling recently for the first time... and I'm quite enjoying it!! So relaxing, so fun. It's a great new habit to replace mindless scrolling on my phone. Will definitely try these ideas in my sketch book. Thanks for sharing! Much love 😊

I've got little smile on my face full of joy and peace... And he'll walk by, "You doodlin' again"?? Then he laughs, shakes his head and smiles. I suddenly feel like I'm 8 years old again. It's marvelous!! ✨
Omg congrats! Same!! At 40 I'm learning doodling, acrylic, and watercolor. I hope to be able to afford the gouache set mira showed us with the 52 colors it's only $43! So hopefully in the next couple months I can get one of those! It's helped me process alot of trauma from a very very traumatic 12 years that I narrowly escaped with my life! It's been so good to watch these videos, read the comments, and see some other folks who are a lil older and learning like me!
@@Tastykake83 Hi I’m so sorry for your past. I do identify with you with this. I do art journaling for the same reason. It’s not writing (unless I put it under what I’m making and I only know it there and what it means) For me I use it to put my feelings on the page and do my best to leave it there. I’ve black pages red pages with nothing on them or I’ll put texture and mix it on the page. I call myself a mixed media artist. I gifted and sold some canvases. But mostly it’s just for me. I loved this video from Myra because I’ve had art block for well over a year and I’m needing help or prompts to get me going again. What she has done here for me is perfect. And a perfect way to start again. Bless you keep moving forward at your own pace you’ll get your head above water and fight your way to stay there. Not fun but definitely worth the journey. Oh Mira This is fantastic what a wonderful idea. As someone who’s had Art block for such a very long time now. (Mental health husband surgery and many other things that interrupt life in not a fun way) This is a wonderful low or no stress idea no pressure to fill a full page simple but very beautiful ideas where I can sit on my bed or lounge and just draw. I love these sketchbook idea vids so much - they’ve taken me from watching to doing ! I just had to share - I was drawing my own blueberry bear and my 6 yr old son puts down his phone to see what I’m up to and got SOOO excited he painted his own “orange” fruit bear. I’ve never seen him put so much detail in a drawing with flowers a bee clouds and sun and his adorable bear and we both have a list of other fruit bears we want to draw ! I even got him some paint pens for his birthday this week. It was such a heartwarming moment for me as a mom and a reminder that the power of creativity is life changing - my child jumping off his phone to try something else with me just made My day and we have you to thank for inspiring us!! 🎉❤❤❤

The pencils are adorable! 😍 In the middle of winter, from Thanksgiving to Valentine's Day, it seems like it needs red to add love and color to the surroundings. Vermillion fits right in! ❤️ The blue beary probably shows why polar bears eat out of berry patches!! 🤣 Eyeball flowers and the strawberry bunny are cute! 🤗 I thought the arches were gonna be bunny ears, lol! 🐰 That would make awesome scrapbook paper!! 👍 I would be more likely to do rainbows in mostly primary colors! 🌈🥰
I'm in highschool, I go to a dance studio almost everyday, I also take piano & ukelele leasons. I love making art but I find myself not having time. This past christmas you inspired me & I painted wooden ornamants for my brothers(there maried & have kids) and one set of grandparents.(the other set lives really far away & I wouldn't be able to give it to them) so I'm REALLY loving this video idea & would love more. Really loved the pencil idea! I'll be using that one soon! I have some other simple ideas that you can use :) -Instead of the fish scales, do a honey comb pattern. cut out a hexagon with cardboard and trace it over and over. -A cute bookshelf with plants and knick knacks -a patchwork doll or stuffed animal -draw geode rocks -draw a pair of sunglasses with a phrase in the lens like "summer time" or "beach babe"
I feel like this is also good for trying out new art materials that you’re less familiar with, it takes the pressure off making a super fancy detailed sketch right beforehand, which you then fear ruining with your new materials that you don’t know how to use properly yet 😅
I so need a bunny & a bear sticker! Think about it...🤔! I think the fishscale page would look pretty with like shiny mermaid colors. Does anyone have any tips for keeping my colored pencils from looking streaky? I have the exact same sketchbook as she is using & it's really nice & affordable too. That's actually why I got it, but it's a good book. 😊
Now I have to find my sketchbook 😕 I lost in after taking it to the hospital when my momma was in the hospital a couple months ago and I have never seen it since 😢💔 I REALLY hope I didn't leave it there because it was at least a third of the way filled ..maybe more...and I loved it and my artwork inside so much...uugghhhh!!!😫 I hope I can find it because I wanna sketch now. You have inspired me and now I need to create!!! I also WANT YOUR STICKERS SOOOOO BADLY!!!! But, I am sooo broke I couldn't afford to buy if you gave me 95% off...ok...I would SOOOO buy them then, like ALLLL of them!!! LOL, But that ain't gonna happen 😔 anyway, love from an Ohio girl who now lives in misery...I mean, Missouri 😂 ❤ Ya BUNCHES!!!
