- Mor Acro found the weekly market in Azrou Morocco and it was full of surprises. Summer fruits are in full effect and a rain earlier in the day provides wet and muddy conditions. While some in the Moroccan market packed up their goods, those with perishables carried on. Mor Acro saw his first barbers in the Souk, a surprise when he saw hair littering the floor. Another surprise was a popular game of mouse roulette in which you could win tea glasses. In the end we bought a nice tajine for a friend and loves the Azrou weekly market.

Another excellent content. Definately next level. You see, the face-tattoos are traditional Amazigh tattoos(no relationship to religion). My grandmother has it on her chin and between her eyebrows. Not only face but at times you will see this on hands and arms, feet and legs too. They have a symbolic meaning & meant for like protection and fertility and so on. Enjoy and thanks for sharing!

No worries, tattoos might be a "taboo" in Morocco but they are not "foreign" or "shocking".So while Islam, same as other religions see Tattoo is something not "right", most people will not judge you in Morocco because the tradition of body tattoos is very old in North Africa, and even further up into the Middle East and Europe (the Balkan). If you want you could check the ancient Egyptian depictions of our ancestors, known by them as the Tehenu of the Temehu. Sometimes Libyan is used also by some historians. Depiction of our male ancestors with body tattoos, face, legs and arms. Very beautiful. The tattoos were also found among the guanches mummies, the Amazigh of the Canary Islands or indigenous peoples of the Canary Islands. For more details, there is also this book by the name Berber Tattooing in Morocco's Middle Atlas. A very beautiful result of series of chance encounters. An Austrian couple if Im correct, Felix & Loretta’s Leu’s, made a road trip in 1988 in Morocco. They collected as many as possible the symbolic meaning of the Amazigh tattoos of the tribes of the Middle Atlas.

Amazing video. I love the market when it rains, when there is a lot of mud and the smell of the earth. This is the real market. It is better than super market. But you must wear large mud-proof shoes ❤️

The biggest souk in Morocco is located in between Marrakech's road and El Jadida in a city / village called Sidi Bennour, it is held every Tuesday there and there you could find anything you would think of, check it out sometime in the future you might be going to Marrakech from Rabat or Casa!
