I have impressed myself so much by making this dress, the tutorial is very easy to follow and I have only been crocheting for about a month, so . Thank you ! xx
Anna, this video singlehandedly got me back into crocheting after like a 2 year hiatus. The way you clarified every detail helped so much and Im so happy with the final product! Keep up the great vids :)))
Love your video so much, you’re AMAZING 🥰 After 55 yrs of crocheting I learned a NEW way to start my work with out making that ‘skinny’ base chain all the way (makes it easier to NOT twist the pattern when starting e.g a dress) THANKS 🙏😘
I do not crochet but I sat through this entire video and with how well you explained this project I felt like I could 🤣 I think your dress actually looks sooo much better than the brand's, I so commend you for figuring this pattern out!
Omg, this has been on my pinterest board for so long. It turned out absolutely stunning!! Thank you soooo much for making this tutorial, can’t wait to make it 😍
I just finished a short version of this dress! I started a few months ago but only got a few rows in before getting distracted by other projects but I’ve been sick these last few days and managed to finish the whole thing (it ended up about knee length) in three days. I made a few mistakes (and I don’t know how to feel about the color palate I chose) but I’m definitely planning to make this again
i've just finished my dress, i used two different colors (off white and ocra) doing a pattern of 3 rounds each color and repeat for the skirt part, and 2 for the top part, i also lowered the back a little bit and made the skirt tighter on my bottom and upper thighs. it came out beautiful, thank you so much❤
can i ask, about how long did it take? i’m thinking of making a modified version of this as my graduation dress but ill only have a month. i crochet at a pretty decent pace but wondering how long its taken others?

I just wanted to add one consideration for people who may be taller and lean, or have very long legs. One thing I wasn’t thinking about when I first started this dress is whether or not it would be comfortable when I was walking. I wanted it to be ankle length, and it fit comfortably over my hips so I continued with that width. However, as a tall, thin person with long legs, I realized too late that the dress was too narrow around my ankles (even though it fit around my hips) and it would have restricted my strides when I walked. I essentially would have had to take small steps and probably would have looked like a penguin 🤣. I wound up realizing this partway into making the dress so I restarted with a much wider chain for the bottom of the dress. I put the chain (with a couple of rows) around my ankles and walked around a bit to make sure it would work. I think my plan is to crochet a few rows like this and then gradually decrease once I get closer to my knees. Hopefully this helps someone from making a similar mistake! Thank you for the tutorial, it’s a beautiful dress and I’m excited to finish mine!!
I just made this it was such a simple and easy to follow tut and turned out absolutely beautiful- if you are looking for a good tut for a beach dress use this one

My last decrease row on the waist was solid treble crochets, so the first row of the front panel was a mesh row. I didn't have enough room to make a mesh decrease and land on the specific stitch (her 65rd) so instead, I made a decrease that landed on the stitch before that one. (her 64th) It didn't cause any issues in my dress, hope this helps

Hi! Yeah there is a way to do that. Instead of joining the ends at the bottom of the dress you would crochet rows as normal (turning your work every completed row) and then join when the dress reaches the height of the slit you want.
Hi! Very beautiful dress ☺️Thank you for the tutorial, I can't wait to do it! However, I have a question : is it possible to use 100% cotton 3 mm yarn ? It seems that you use 4 mm yarn. Do you think it'll be better with 4mm yarn or is it good with 3mm too? Thank you very much for your help
I’m newish to crochet and still learning yarn… if I use medium (4) yarn is it going to be too heavy or drastically change the outcome? Any tips will help I have a lot of yarn I’d like to use before buying more!
you can use that yarn weight! you might want to use a bigger hook though. just make sure you’re going based off of your measurements and not my stitch numbers because yours might be larger even if you used the same stitch numbers as me since you’re using a thicker yarn
I saw your videos in Instagram and loved your content, your work and I immediately come to watch your video on TH-cam, I never had an experience on crochet but I really want to try especially with this dress. I would not care if it's not beautiful as yours so can I start my crochet story with this video or is it would be so hard for someone with no experience?
Hey Anna, I want to crochet this dress for my Girlfriend as a surprise gift for her Birthday in Summer. So i can´t do "wear and adjust" exactly. Could you recommend the measurements i need to take off her to create this dress. Atm i am guessing, height, hips, bust, shoulders and neck. Thanks !
I am a little bit confused on making the Low back part. If I’m decreasing one stitch every row, then it leaves the mesh part an odd number so I can’t skip 2 without it being an odd number where it doesn’t work I’m a little bit confused
hi! I’m having a hard time going back into the chain, where you described it as going into the v. I get it on the first one because you only have the chain to work with but the next few I’m having a hard time. also I’ve been trying and it mine seems a lot smaller while yours seems wider 😅
@@anna-greene yes! I start off strong but once I go to add the third it just looks so different from what yours looks like 😭 do you have a video with a better explanation or close up??
so excited to make this dress! thanks for the tutorial! Just to check, you said to use a DK weight yarn but the linked yarns are medium/aran weight.... will a medium weight work? thanks
hey! good question! the yarn I’m using is technically not DK but to me it feels much more like a DK weight yarn so that’s what I recommend for this project! but you could also definitely use a medium weight if you’d like, you’d just have to play around with the hook size and gauge
I want mine to have a bit of a fitted effect at the bottom so I need to increase the width as I go up toward my hips. Do you have any advice on how to increase? Should I just add 2 treble crochets in a couple of the stitches for my increase rows?
I love this dress!! startes yesterday, but eveytime i reach the third row, its like its getting alot smaller and cant go over the butt anymore. How can i correct that mistake. i feel like i do it very loosely, but when i reach the slipstich it gets too tight to fit 🥲
Hi! I just did my second treble crochet row and I have SO MANY more chains that my first row. Originally I had 108 which fit around me nicely but now that I’ve done the mesh row and moved onto the second treble row, I have 141 stitches!! How did I mess up so bad? This is one of the first few things I’m trying to crochet so I have no idea
Hi Anna I have questions sometimes crocheter do flip the work after starting chain ( example starting chain 5 then flip , then DC the next stich) but in this pattern you didn't flip, instead work the next row. I wonder if I flip the work after finish the previous row, can the patterns still works too ?
This is so cute! I’m starting mine right now, but i have a question. When i finish the foundation chain, can i start counting from the first 5 and then keep counting across ? Will that be the accurate way to make sure it’s an even number?
That dress is stunning and the tutorial is really good. I just have one problem. With every row my dress get‘s wider. Can someone tell why this happens and how I can change that?
You’re adding in an extra stitch somewhere, probably at the end. It is extremely easy to make a mistake like this when doing mesh patterns, especially if you don’t have a ton of experience with it. I hope that helps!
My foundation chain looks wonky no matter what I do or how many times I start over, would I still get the same result chaining my first row and treble stitching my second?
just chain the number you found was the right length for you (but do it nice and loosely) and then chain an additional 4 chains for your turning chain. then make your first treble crochet into the 5th chain from the hook and then a treble crochet into every other chain! if you’re having trouble with that just look up “how to treble crochet” on youtube and it’ll show you what I’m talking about!
hiii guys :) this is definitely one of my favorite projects I've made in a while so I hope you love it! let me know if you have any questions about the dress and I'd be more than happy to help

This is so cute! I’m starting mine right now, but i have a question. When i finish the foundation chain, can i start counting from the first 5 and then keep counting across ? Will that be the accurate way to make sure it’s an even number?
First 5 chains**
Yes, you count the chains as the first treble crochet! then just count every treble crochet after the chains as well
Thankyou soooooo much ❤❤
That dress is stunning and the tutorial is really good.
@@souppp01 yes that helped. Thank you!!
@@anna-greene thank you so much!
if i don’t want a mesh design, can i use single crochet or double crochet - would that work?
ofc it would, you would have to do 3 times the rows tho, and it would be slightly stiffer, especially if you use a stiff yarn
Hi! Can I also use microfiber (micro acrylic) yarn for this project? Thank you!
you could! the acrylic might be hotter than you’d like though
sorry for the dumb question but is that white or cream yarn? I love the colour and can't tell if my screen is messing up my perception of it 😅
it’s an off-white color! I have the exact yarn/color I used linked in the description if you’re interested
Thanks a lot I made mine but short
How many days did you work on that
Hi! I'm starting this project!!😃 How many grams did you use for this dress? thanks!
hi!! don’t remember off the top of my head but it’s in the description :)
Are you able to make this still with 4mm yarn?
