I'm Mexican, and we don't add the rice in the burrito. Instead, we eat it as a side dish, same with the beans. The beans are not refried, they are freshly cooked pinto beans and some people like to add some 'queso fresco' (Mexican cheese) on top of it. The burritos usually have grilled meat or as we call it, 'carne asada' and this you can season it if you want, but the salsa will give it the taste. All you really need is the meat, fresh salsa that we call Pico de Gallo ( a mix of tomato, avocado, onion, and jalapeno mixed with lemon), you add some lettuce and top it with sour cream if you want. Sour cream is optional but it tastes good. Other than that, its not really an authenic burrito. Burritos can be made with just one ingredient though, like just beans or just meat.
A burrito is basically just a round sandwich -- you can put whatever you want inside and it's still a burrito. Saying you shouldn't put the rice or beans inside is like saying you shouldn't put tomato on your hamburger. Prefer to eat your rice and beans on the side? Fine. I like mine inside with everything else so it's a complete meal in one package.
This is great. I really wanted to learn how to roll the burrito. However, the gentleman in the video is absolutely gorgeous so I had to watch it a couple of times!!! Haha!!! Thanks!!
A) He didn't wash his hands properly. B) He did not seem to use soap, either. C) He is sadly misinformed about bacteria, and its relationship with water. D) I have a suspicion he is not really Mexican either.
He uses soap at 00:32 - The video is simple played at a rate faster than the real passage of time. He is misinformed about bacteria in tap water, sure. But at least he's not on the dangerous end of this misinformation.
Not exactly! The work 'tucker' is Australian slang for food. So there is method to our madness in calling our restaurants Tuckeria.. Not a lot of Spanish speakers in Australia....
He folded it the right way for me, but dude, everything is soooo moisty. That tortilla is soaked the time you want to stick it in your mouth!! Personally I like guacamole, pico de gallo, corn salsa and sour cream and hot sauce in it too, but okay, that's taste.
What size tortillas are those? They're giants! I'm always over flowing mine because I can't fit enough in one and I have to make 2 or 3. My supermarket only sells tiny 8 inchers I think.
This is nothing like a real Mexican burrito. Come to the west coast united states and find a taco truck that looks old and beaten up. That's REAL mexican food right there.
Pat Roe lolz! Exactly what I was thinking. If you want Mexican, then visit Mexico. If you want 5th-6th generation US Anglo-Mexican fusion food, then visit Texas or California.
Exactly in which part of Mexico do they have that accent , I mean no offense great English but i'm just curious , where in Mexico are you originally from ?
+Tuckeria Fresh Mexican Restaurants DO THEY SERVER ANY DELICIOUS KANGAROO BURRITOS IN AUSTRALIA ??? ONCE YOU EAT A KANGAROO BURRITO WILL YOUR BODY START HOPPING LIKE AN AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO ???
+supasik1 " the real mexican burrito only has carne asada beans and rice" what would you rather have, a real Mexican burrito or a good burrito? First, a heaping tblsp of re-fried beans smeared out on the tortilla. Then rice, and meat (I prefer steak). then the cold stuff starting with cheese. Then guacamole, sour cream, and hot sauce.
We dont have burritos in mexico (except what has trickled down from the states in the last decade or so) anyway, so who cares? I do here that you can get that kind of tortilla way up north in sonora though.
That's strange,But i like the burritos and the mexican food, because i am mexican, but i like also the burgers, hot dogs...I'd like eat a burrito made in united states, there the food is more strange and it's nice! :D
I am Mexican, and I use lettuce in a burrito. But we don't do it like he did here. We mainly use 'carne asada' or grilled meat (beef), the 'pico de gallo' salsa (mixture of avocado, tomato, onion, and jalapeno with lemon juice), some lettuce (optional as most toppings) and sour cream (also optional). The thing that most people absolutely get wrong is putting in the rice and beans together with the meat, when we don't even do that. The rice is always separate and the beans as well if you're going to use meat. It's either beans or meat.
Nyx Gypsy Well I've been to many Authentic Mexican restaurants in Cali, who put rice and beans together with the meat! Possibly they just do that for Gringos??
Maybe putting lettuce in it isn't a Mexican thing, Roland B., but its not uncommon in Texas: land of a fusion favorite of Americans (aka: Tex-Mex). I am a Mexican American in Texas and like burritos with and without lettuce. You get a fresher taste with lettuce, even a little lighter. But sometimes I like my burrito more savory and hot, so I skip the lettuce.
Tnx for trying to teach... However comparing that with American style burritos my gawd .. Night/Day...runny, watery sauce and salsa not fresh...Not appetizing imho
FYI - This is a San Francisco style burrito. It was invented there in the 60s. Not Mexican. Although, we have burritos, but they tend to be simple. Meat & beans.
Tuckeria I don't know, I had a really awesome one that was more traditional (in the Bay Area actually) and it was the best I ever had, despite the simpler ingredients (beef+rice+beans only, no lettuce or "salsa" or anything else). It was insane, don't know why.
Most pathetic burrito i have seen in a while. Where is the sour cream? where is the pico de gallo? where is the guacamole? I wouldnt eat at the fuckeria if you held a gun to my head
Um.... You can put whatever you'd like on a burrito. Oh yeah I'm qualified because I'm Mexican too. I love bean, asada and rice burritos. The lettuce was new to me but WHO CARES. I'm sure our mesoamerican ancestors won't be too disappointed
Nobody in Los Angeles puts lettuce in a burrito. Any hot ingredients will wilt and cook the lettuce. ( Unless of course you like cooked lettuce.) The rice and beans really should be served on the side with crisp tortilla chips. The lettuce should be a side salad. Note: Los Angeles is the second largest Spanish speaking city in the world.
pretty far from mexican style as it can get, but thats ok seeing as though the burrito came into existence from tex-mex infusion cuisine. Thats why it is actually difficult to find a restaurant in Mexico that makes burritos. In the U.S. the more authentic Mexican restaurants make the burritos much different than this. This is still pretty good food though, but same thing as chipotle.
now lets star a debate!!!.... only one of these items can exist in this world(LOL) what will you choose!!..... SHAWARMAS ( they had their interesting spices special chicken meat and tabule and pita bread) ooor BURRITOS ( with the creamy guacamole spicy hot chili and monterey jack cheese and corn tortillas and rice ) oooor the healthy WRAPS!!!! ( with grill meat or chicken salads tomatoes, lettuce, and sauces!!!) ....
Damn, this is a tough one. I would go with shwarma, but that's very very close call (being my two favourite "fast foods"). But there's a difference in authenticity I guess, since I've never been to Mexico and had the best shwarma in middle east (UAE, but made by a Pakistani dude, go figure). Fuck it, call it a tie.
he is just adding stuff on the bread and not showing how to make proper burritos...everyone knows what is inside it....he is supposed to show how to make those things...
I'm Mexican, and we don't add the rice in the burrito. Instead, we eat it as a side dish, same with the beans. He said mexican! So call it what you will it's not what he said it was!
You tell 'em whitey! 🫥

you dont need to be mexican to make a burrito lol
C) If you touch ready to eat food, you have to wear disposable gloves.
trexpaddock does he have to be Mexican to make a burrito
He uses soap at 00:32 - The video is simple played at a rate faster than the real passage of time.
He is misinformed about bacteria in tap water, sure. But at least he's not on the dangerous end of this misinformation.
so nasty
The rolling part is giving me great satisfaction!
Hey Ausie! The word is taqueria which would be a place that sells tacos. Tuckería is spanglish ese.
Not exactly! The work 'tucker' is Australian slang for food. So there is method to our madness in calling our restaurants Tuckeria.. Not a lot of Spanish speakers in Australia....
I love Mexico and mexican food .
That makes two of us!
very good !!
He folded it the right way for me, but dude, everything is soooo moisty. That tortilla is soaked the time you want to stick it in your mouth!!
Personally I like guacamole, pico de gallo, corn salsa and sour cream and hot sauce in it too, but okay, that's taste.
Watched several videos - your method seems the best!
What size tortillas are those? They're giants! I'm always over flowing mine because I can't fit enough in one and I have to make 2 or 3. My supermarket only sells tiny 8 inchers I think.
great video with simple instructions......works for this "gringo".....ps...thanks for reminding to wash hands....so important.....
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good, but do they boil the plastic sacs with the GastroNorm stainless containers?!
Nice! I love this video, thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm gonna steal your rolling-technique.
It's all yours! Let us know how it goes. Suerte!
This is nothing like a real Mexican burrito. Come to the west coast united states and find a taco truck that looks old and beaten up. That's REAL mexican food right there.
Or just go to Mexico....
Pat Roe lolz! Exactly what I was thinking. If you want Mexican, then visit Mexico. If you want 5th-6th generation US Anglo-Mexican fusion food, then visit Texas or California.
Yeah, those are the exact ones I am talking about. ;) Best food ever.
There is no real mexican burrito. that stuff comes from the US. If you want a burrito dont bother coming here.
LA has great burritos, but for tacos it's got to be Mexico proper, not Northern Mexico. We know what was stolen in that phoney war.
Great rolling technique, sir.
You mexicans are onto something here!
This is making me hungry
Us too!
Exactly in which part of Mexico do they have that accent , I mean no offense great English but i'm just curious , where in Mexico are you originally from ?
How many inch is your tortilla bread, 8 or 12inch?
I can approve of this video
well almost a traditional burrito but if people like it with different ingredients why not...~~~ Yummy!
We agree! We like to put in lettuce for a crispy fresh taste!
very good
Lol...wow tastes so good like clean washed hands.
Thanks for the well articulated and demonstrated tutorial on how to assemble a burrito. Great video!
Will make one tomorrow
Well done, lads!
Jeremy Deschner Thank you!

These for me are wraps not burritos is there a difference?
Nothing looked fresh in this burrito.
Damn it now i gotta make some burritos
Looks delicious...I would have used cabbage instead of lettuce though.
This is a gringo burrito without guacamole. Like a pub without beer
like gringo-babelsberg with curtiz, ciffra, hitchcock, lorre, wilder, wyler, bernard, dietrich, von Sternheim, ao
is hollywooooood
All burritos are gringo food. We dont have them in mexico. Having said that, most burritos are without guacamole.
Jim Beaux your right there isn't burritos in Mexico I've been to Mexico twice and I never saw burrito not even 1
Ive lived here for 20 years.
wallythewhale He's Australian not Greek. A greek would have put lamb in it.
this guy is not even Mexican, yet he wrapped way better than some of this other videos on youtube, by so called experts
I don't even roll mines I just flip flop and toss that shit until it fits...I know its sad 😥
Rob M. Does he have to be Mexican
We dont have burritos in mexico (except what has trickled down from the states in the last decade or so) anyway, so who cares? I do here that you can get that kind of tortilla way up north in sonora though.
Excellent tutorial but I think you make that look easier than it is, actually. But, practice makes perfect. Thanks.
That's strange,But i like the burritos and the mexican food, because i am mexican, but i like also the burgers, hot dogs...I'd like eat a burrito made in united states, there the food is more strange and it's nice! :D
this reminds me of someone telling someone what side of the paper to write on lol
My girlfriend loves it when I put sour cream in the burrito
Cool
Thank you.
He reminded us to wash our hands lol. Then washed his with water only for 5 seconds.
i love tacos
There's no way you could learn how to make a Mexican burrito from an Austrailian. This is hilarious.
I love chicken burritos.
That is nothing even near to a Mexican burrito and who the he'll puts lettuce on there Mexican burrito

***** That is not Mexican, that is American. We eat the rice seperately, same with the beans. Unless you're making a bean burrito.
@@lyriclanguages3780 are you sure you're not a gypsy? that's just a taco.
where's the sour cream and guacamole, without those two I wouldn't eat that burrito :P~
Right
yum!
Where are you?

well that is a rough facsimile of a Wrap, I am not sure if that qualifies as a Mexicna Burrito as a Mexican, I should know !
But nice roll though,
FYI - This is a San Francisco style burrito. It was invented there in the 60s. Not Mexican. Although, we have burritos, but they tend to be simple. Meat & beans.
San Francisco Style burritos are the best IMHO!
Tuckeria

Whatever mexi mexicana yada yada. Yeap Mexican Burritoeahhhh yummu... Tortillas are good. with rice... Meat. Cheeze, cheese. Maybe beanZ
sometimes if the customer wants more inside that it becomes really impossible...
That's pretty impressive. Its almost good as the teenagers make up at chipotle.
We think it is better!
Tuckeria looks the same.
Most pathetic burrito i have seen in a while. Where is the sour cream? where is the pico de gallo? where is the guacamole? I wouldnt eat at the fuckeria if you held a gun to my head
Yes, yes... because anyone with that accent would know authenticity...
I didn't know Seth Meyers had a mexican restaurant
20 zillion Mexicans on this planet and I find a video with a Aussie hosting! WTF!!!!!?!
I put egg with ham brand and quest fresco

U so Great but were da GUACA it like my Maine ingredient
No rice in burritos Amigo .
This is just a plug for a restaurant. Misleading
I'm gonna ask my auntie to make me a burrito I'm getting hungy
how many cost for this joke??
You cant just MAKE a burrito. You have to look the part!
Disabler OK HA HA lmao!

+Virginia Hall Wow Virginia!!!!!!11!!!!one!! Thanks for your exquisite knowledge in lettuce preservation!!! /s
Think of me every time you munch into a burrito with soggy, wilted lettuce.
+Virginia Hall pity that the burrito will be nothing but a plain tortilla given that you took out all the fucking ingredients.
non sequitur
If its chopped and kept away from whatever is hot it doesn't wilt as much.
Cheese??
The white community apologizes for this

Pocomoi ok.... i tie between shawarma and burritos???.... well ok
if you had the best shawarma in the world i guess you will choose shawarma
The title is misleading.. doesnt actually show you how to make a burrito from scratch
Dude, what do you think I learned from your assemblage ?
lavaşın içine bu malzemeleri koyun oldu bitti
A white dude with an Asian Dude in the background teaching people how to make Burrito with rice , yes that's believable .
YOU WANT TO TOAST THE TORTILLA ON A HOT GRIDDLE WITH A LITTLE COOKING OIL. OTHERWISE THE BURRITO WILL TASTE LIKE A LUMP OF DOUGH.
he is just adding stuff on the bread and not showing how to make proper burritos...everyone knows what is inside it....he is supposed to show how to make those things...
Clicked on this post expecting Juan or maria.. got the guy off the lucky charm box!!! Is not a mexican burrito!
All I'm thinking about is that there's no cheese in it.
all they taught us is how to put toppings on a burrito.
Only a rabbit puts lettuce in not a Mexican, bring on the peppers homes not lettuce.
Que seria E.U.A sin nuestra comida?
Australians would be lost without their Mexican food as well!
Hard to hear what the guys saying because of the pointless music!
cant hear ***
washed his hands with cold water
folding without 'love' :(
mexican burrito?? this isn't mexican this is like a taco bell burrito!!!!!
music's too loud
LOL A "tongful" of lettuce.
Where da heck is the avacado and sour cream
Ppfffff
Very very anoying music playing while you are talking... turn it off.
