Brilliant films, it was like being transported back in time, to when i was being taught to fish from old timers,who were similar ages to the chaps in the film.
They just didn't know how toxic the damn things were. I was surprised in seeing some old films where cigarettes were referred to as coffin nails so perhaps they'd seen people who became ill and it was evident that cigarettes were the cause.
Takes me back to fly fishing in Westmoreland for grayling and trout as a boy and the Wharfe was the first river I fished for trout, at Linton Falls. Reg Righyni was a legend then. Thanks for sharing these.

I love the narration on these old clips. Like the old Pathe footage. Not much has changed. rod, line and a few flies.

Enjoyed watching as l do at lot of lure fishing, Bernard made a small mistake with the second lure he showed, it is a spinner not a spoon.
The UK has changed unbelievably since this film and not in a good way unfortunately.
