What did you think of the gen 3's? I was driving the 2014 commodore. I attempted to drive that car years ago when I was new to the service. The experience was so traumatic after a few laps of spinning that I never dared to get in it again. I guess I learned a lot more since then. I am by no means quick, but I could at least turn incident free laps. For the difficulties of this car, the race was very clean. I was impressed with the driving standards, but that's the K5 group for ya.
I have the 2014 Commodore, it's been a while since I drove that, I can't recall it's behavior. I've more recently driven the Gen 2, albiet not that much. I wasn't planning to get the Gen 3, and caved about 4 hours before the race. I think it's a easier car to drive. The car shifts easier, I remember having to blip downshifts in the old car. It's got less downforce which makes it feel way more manageable for me. The high downforce Gen 2 was tricky to grasp, it's a heavy stock car but had a mix of a formula car driving style in it. Gen 3 takes that away, and its more like a typical stock car feel. The grip at the edge is less of a cliff, few times did I just spin out, I could tell it was going to spin, or it let me fight it. It still has loads of power to spin the wheels up, but it doesn't feel like a death sentence like the old car.
In the gen 2 I found I had to heel toe and blip on downshift, and it helped with hard braking rear lock up on downshift, looks like gen 3 you don't need to blip on downshift. I must get on and give Gen 3 a go. How do we get into your races. I'm in New Zealand.
Yeah this car doesn't seem to require blips, some have said it helps but I haven't found that personally. The league is ran by Kneebon5, join his discord if you want to race with us. There a k5-application channel in the discord for instructions. Though there isn't a supercar series in the league planned, but there will likely be a timeslot selected in the official series after the first week due to various league events already scheduled during week 1.
Being a new car will bring some interest. It's a little easier to drive which should help retain some people. Not sure what longevity will be like, I would assume it will get more people in the car for a few seasons before returning to normal.
Good racing with you Billy! Wish I didn’t half spin in front of you and could have battled with you haha

Will K5 being doing a league season with the Gen 3's?
Not in the league session, but probably through a community timeslot in officials.
Do you think gen 3 will be as popular as the previous one or will the servers fill up a bit?
