Awesome deck profile! Congrats on your top! I'm also playing the Etemon deck currently. My list is a little different though. Mainly in not running any of the training/mem boosts. Instead I've got 2 ST15 Tai Kamiyas, 2 Analog Youths, and 2 Trident Arms for removal. The Tai really plays well with MetalEtemon's redirection. Gives a 2K boost and draws a card.
I love the deck, and big congrats on a fantastic performance at nationals. i always wondered why ShineGreymon: Ruin Mode isn't seeing play in this archtype, since if it has a Suka in its inheritables, you can prevents its own deletion at end of attack, to continually delete an opponents digimons and recover one.
I considered Ruin for that reason, but ultimately you want to keep the MetalEtemon up for its defensive play so evolving over it was a bit meh, and DeathX was more important as a level 7 to play this format to deal with wide boards. But definitely something to tinker with~
My guess is a combination of (1) it's unsearchable as your searcher Digimon end up trashing it & your black-centric options bottomdeck it, (2) it's way too expensive for most people, and (3) if you can afford Ruin Mode, you can afford DeathX, which is just better.

I wanna know what Alex thinks of the Ukko engine with Etemon if possible. I'm gonna give it a try at my locals this tuesday
