    When my diabetes was out of control (I didn’t realize I was diabetic, my first blood sugar test at my doctors revealed an astonishing 657 blood sugar level!!!) my taste changed. I actually couldn’t taste much of anything! What I could taste was usually bitter or had a burned taste to it. Now that my diabetes is completely under control, it’s even worse! I use a very minimal amount of salt in my food and everything tastes like I poured a whole container of salt in it! I am also extremely sensitive to is if I eat something with sugar or artificial sugar in it!!! I cannot stand the sweetness or the burning. My journey started 1 1/2 yrs ago! I have a lot of health issues, but this by far has been the toughest!!! I was a big carb eater, I don’t like meat and have had to find other ways to take in protein. Thank goodness I was not a sweet eater and food was not important to me other than to keep me sustained. I walked out of my doctor’s office on fast and slow acting insulin but we did a complete turnaround! We limit our carbs to no more than 15g a day and you will not find 1 grain of sugar in our house. We no longer eat processed foods or go out to eat hardly at all. I’m so happy to say my diabetes is now very under control! My biggest problem now is I’ve become hypoglycemic again, I struggled with it as a young adult. I realize I’ve formed a mental block about having my sugar go above 85-90. I’m slowly working through that, I know it’s just as dangerous! I love your videos, you give us such wonderful information. Information we need but only we can implement to save our health and our lives! I know I’m going to die one day, but it won’t be because I’m hard headed like my mother who died after ending up on dialysis 3 times a week because no one was going to tell her how to eat!!! Thank you for the information you bring us! I truly appreciate you very much!

    Very helpful and good information.
    I'm a Type 11 and have an appointment for cleaning and x-rays in a few weeks so the timing is right.
    I noticed that my tongue is a little white. My most recent A1 c was 6.1
    and I have been using the Atkin's Diet for a year. Lately I have been looking into the Ketogenic Diet to improve my health more and try to reverse the diabetes that is a big annoyance in my life.

    I’m a diabetic doctor and I often have dry mouth so I chew sugar free gum all the time. But I also have once in a while a bitter taste in my mouth. Also my tongue burns when I eat spicy or acidic foods. Went to dentist and he didn’t find anything with my tongue.

    Interesting and very useful. I am very fortunate not to have any of these symptoms and have always been conscientious about oral hygiene. It is useful to know about these sorts of problems and warning signs because one might not necessarily associate them with diabetes. Better to prevent damage where possible, than to attempt to reverse it later. Thanks again!

    Please what causes sugar in my throat. I have to take a hot alcohol consistently for a week before it goes. It comes back when I eat sugary food.

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like you might be experiencing a sensation of sweetness in your throat after consuming sugary foods, which could be related to how your body processes sugar. This might indicate issues such as acid reflux, where sugary foods can exacerbate symptoms, or it could be related to fluctuating blood sugar levels, especially in people with diabetes or prediabetes.
      It's important to consult with a healthcare professional to discuss your symptoms. They can provide a more accurate diagnosis and offer advice on how to manage it effectively. The use of hot alcohol to alleviate symptoms is unusual, so it's definitely worth discussing with your doctor to ensure you're on a safe and effective treatment plan. Take care! 😊
