I don't know why this film gets so much flack. It is certainly better then the Ridley Scott version, the cartoon although good, but Prince of Thieves was better!
4:57 I was in high school when this came out... And looking back on film scores I can say that the fact that you can HEAR that an orchestra is playing this, vs some partially or mostly synthesized, and definitely over-produced sound, makes this a very, very favorite soundtrack of mine. I can actually hear that there are individual French Horns and Trumpets playing. Michael Kamen is one of my favorite composers, ever.
The fabulous Michael Kamen, he left us too early! I will always remember him with this score and the theme from Band of Brothers. Truly a great talent lost. :'(
Morten Malvik I didn't know about James Horner passing... that's really sad. His Apollo 13 score is amazing. Now i really hope John Williams lives to be 100 or more. If he passes on, i'll sit in a corner and cry for days :'(
this suite gets me every time. especially the crescendo of horns. while friends were listening to thumpy dumpty electronica music i used to listen to this.
My 8th grade banbanquet theme is Royal Medieval. It is supposed to be the best one that my school has ever had. My mom suggested that they play this as background noise when they hand out the rewards. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.😁
A brilliant and beautifull suite! Thank you Mr. Kamen, for these wonderful gifts you have left us. May you rest in peace and live happily wherever you now find yourself.
This theme sounds *extremely* similar to his work on "From the Earth to the Moon." Not that it's a bad thing, just that I recognized his orchestration and style almost immediately.
This film is certainly entertaining. Just don't look at it as an XII century England true depiction in any way. It's horrendous historically. It's just a fun flick.
The action, the Soundtrack,Alan Rickman,Morgan Freeman and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is the only things good in this movie,Kevin Costner not so much....
Best Robin Hood movie ever! R.I.P. Michael Kamen.
Sooo trueee!!!!!!
Absolutely
And Basil Pouledouris. Both were geniuses
👏 bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ikr, you can really hear everything, so much more powerful than anything synthesized.

Michael Björk Indeed, many great composers leaving us at an early age: Basil Poledouris, Michael Kamen and now James Horner... Sigh :-(

Get that cunty Disney shit out of here.
Sadly that Disney doesn't exist anymore. Now it's just some greedy a-hole who just wants to make more and more money.
Me too....it was probably my favorite of all the pieces we did.

Wonderful!
This theme sounds *extremely* similar to his work on "From the Earth to the Moon." Not that it's a bad thing, just that I recognized his orchestration and style almost immediately.
It was used by Disney in their "Movies, Magic, More" commercial
It's kinda like Band of Brothers too.
Same happens with John Williams. Anyway, it's epic 🤟💚
All of Mark Kamen's stuff sounds awfully similar. Which in his case was a good thing.
@@brianlaneherder3666 totally, like you could swap cues between Lethal Weapon & Die Hard, especially during action sequences.
