Giant Voice Mass Notification System Test/Demonstration

- With one push of a button, the entire indoor and outdoor population can be alerted to an emergency. This is an example of a mass notification system. Tornado warnings, bomb threats, active shooters, hazardous chemical spills, and wildfires are just some examples of when these systems can be activated with prerecorded messages/instructions to save lives. Military bases, college campuses, and other large facilities will often have a mass notification system installed.
The system in this video is located on a military base. Check out this article and video for more information:

OG fan here, it's awesome to see how far you have come since a kid with your first fire alarm. I hope that I get to see more videos on your life and how far it has come.
Thank you! :)
I remember when you moved out of the og ser
@@SERSafetyI am also a big fan of your videos
The campus I went to has a giant voice mass notification system by Simplex in every building, replacing all the old fire alarm systems (Wheelock, Simplex, and Cerberus Pyrotronics ranging from the 60’s (you read that right!) to the 90’s), and tying the new fire alarm systems to the mass notification systems all in one. A couple buildings have 4100U’s while most buildings have 4100ES’.
Theres a campus near me with Modulators for mass notification (Stabbings, tornadoes, shootings)
@@KnoxvilleRailfanProductions there’s a campus about 20 minutes from me that has a Modulator 4016. It is Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL
Nioce😊
This is a absolute AMAZING VIDEO! I love when you got the entire test and the view of both of the siren and system inside and what the difference type of alarms the building uses! If you did not you you are the person that got me into liking fire alarms and other topics you do! Keep up the work!
Fort Bliss has these kinds of alarms. It's an EST Genesis speaker with an amber strobe, marked alert. Right next to it is an EST Genesis ceiling mount strobe marked fire. There were a lot of small voice evac panels scattered around the building. Very cool system.
Beale had the same..
Came back to this video. I know have the exact Wheelock Alert speaker strobe in my collection.
The red fire alarms is just chilling, while the white fire alarms going off
this has to be my favorite video of yours. one of the most interesting notification systems out there.!
This system is very cool! Traditional horn/strobes for fire and speaker/strobes for mass notification. I like it!
Wow, those tones in the beginning really sound like Bell System MF tones! That whole system is really cool. It seems like it has a lot of well-thought-out features.
They use high frequency sounders now. I personally prefer the old air raid sirens
Yes those are MF.
WOW that a lot of Wheelock alert alarms, and those sirens are way cool
Yeah, on military bases they have a lot of the E70 amber ALERT strobes
The military base near me also has this system but instead of wheelock, they use ceiling mount est genesis speaker strobes and for wall mount they have the est genesis alert/fire speaker strobe combo, the outside of every building has Edwards WG4WN-SVMHA speaker strobes
They sound very similar to those crappy LRAD sirens. Except that little beep at the beginning. I've never heard an LRAD do that. It is pretty cool to see a mass notification system that includes sirens and indoor alarms, as I've never seen one in person and really want to. My college (from which I have now graduated) only had horn-strobes and a very outdated PA system.
Is an ati hpss 16 siren
@@alerlattan3635 no its an ASC e-class
Honestly the indoors alert system is interesting
Keep up the awesome content! :)
The tone reminds me of my elementary school. Because the fire alarm system is tied in with the PA system. So every time the fire alarm goes off. The pa tone goes off on all of the pa speaker including the outdoor ones. So if we were outside and if the fire alarms went off we knew we would need to stop playing and line up to where we would stand outside doing fire drills.
I’m sure 1 in every 3 buildings have a WP fire alarm application..sure is not unheard of…
@@thefuturefrontierpilot75 wp? If anything, I've unheard of THAT!
Nice video SER safety!!
Awesome video man!
This is epic I love this video. It’s quite cool how the other alarms go off with the ATI
@@alerlattan3635 oh
I didn’t even know Wheelock made those mass notification devices!
They do, and they’re all over military bases
For what?
@@sj231s_shorts mass notification..almost all military bases are set up like this
@@sj231s_shorts mAsS nOtIfAcItIon
Wow, that’s a nice system
Nice Grant We also got those here in goldsboro
I'm going to be living on a military base (with my family) full time soon so I'll hear this (or similar) a lot
the tests aren't that frequent so you should be good. At least until they do the yearly base-wide exercise
@@MiishaKorvian yea also the base i live on (since im on the base now) doesnt do giant voice they only have (i think) county controled ASC I forces
That looks awesome! I wish I had one because I like to prank my family a lot lol.
I wouldn’t do that, the E70 can only do like 2 watts so you wouldn’t get far..plus you need an amplifier to use a speaker strobe I believe
Nice. Ati with alert horn strobes. Good vid!
atis have that microphone feedback when they start up so it can't be an ati
@@pLzza4150 they don’t do the start up when they do voice.
sry
@@pLzza4150 those are probably e classes
This video made me interested in tornado sirens again
Great video
They sound very cool
all i hear is "this is a weekly test of the giant moist system" 💀💀
Do all speakers and notification devices activate at exactly the same time? I ask because it sounded like some of the outdoor speakers were triggering off one after the other. I also realise that sound echoes outside and I suspect maybe I was just hearing the acoustics of the sound echoing.
Grant their is another system manly in schools and college called AND(Advanced networking Devices) they work the same but not only a message is played theirs a scrolling text that overrides the clock display until the signal is turned off
this brings me back to the fun days stationed in texas goodfellow AFB. again. fun times. simpler times XD
Nice!
My high school has a simplex fire alarm system installed around the campus. My assistant principal told me before going to summer break that the school could be getting a fire alarm system upgrade. I asked him if I could have the old fire alarm equipment and pull stations and horn strobes and he said that he'll see if he can get some because it could be possible that the district would reuse most of them for other schools. I don't know if my high school could either get a voice evacuation system or just a regular fire alarm system.
Depending on size, it would probably be voice evac.
@@KnoxvilleRailfanProductions if you could have 300+ people in an area, you need voice evac.
@@thefuturefrontierpilot75Correct. Today I went to a big gas station (Bucees) that opened in my state today with atleast 300 people inside. I noted a brand new Fire Lite Voice Evac system, as well as keys in the pull stations.
did you ever get the equipment?
@@KnoxvilleRailfanProductions why would a gas station need to be so big..
woah! The ATI actually turned on!!
Was that a safe path system if so then that thing is a beast
So epic thanks
Pretty interesting. I'm thinking the alert horn strobes are on a panel that's directly tied to an ATI RTU?
I don’t think it’s possible for there to be a horn/strobe of that unit, it must be either a speaker/strobe or a remote strobe tied to a speaker for it to work.
@@alexgilbert2 That's what I meant.
A lot of bases are phasing out those ATI giant voice towers, and are going to more reliable systems from either whelen or federal signal
Yeah because ATIs are fuckin junk
My concern is, we get too dependent on technology and stop using our own senses. The other issue I see with this is single point of failure, infrastructure. I'm not saying that its bad. What I'm saying is that we redundancy in emergency systems.
Humans will always have a sense of fear. It’s a primitive, subconscious thing. That’ll never go away.
So cool
In my opinion it’s more earaching than the wii crash sound
This is my favorite video
Oh, thats the Cooper Wheelock WAVES panel I think.
Hi I'm a 9 year old and this is inspiring me to buy a siren when I am older
That siren in the background is an ATI HPSS 16
We all know that
I want to get a mass notification for my house just like this
oh yes the big voice
Is the control panel with all the alert messages from Silent Knight?
Wheelock E70 speaker strobes for the mass notification system, and wheelock exceders for the fire alarm system
Cool :)
Did They Pre-Record the Siren Tone on the Wheelock Safepath Controlling the System? It Really Sounds Like It. Cool Video!
Likely not. I went to a top secret control center and it was manually said. I can see why you thought it was a bot but it’d not.
@@thefuturefrontierpilot75 The Siren Tone Couldn't Be Manually Said Though.
@@FireAlarm33 the voice is manual, the siren is pre made, my bad
That is an ASC EC-4! I wonder how the speaker strobes have the ASC siren tones in them…probably just custom tones in a voice evac panel
No that is an ATI
It’s not a fire alarm. Don’t confuse mass notification with fire alarms, they’re completely different. They could have been connected on the same circuit.
@@thefuturefrontierpilot75 yea lol I meant that. they are usually used as fire alarms so that’s why I said that
@@thefuturefrontierpilot75 I know
@FedPlayz2022 #pridechallenge #roadto50 #artist *-* but why is it on an ATI frame if it is an E-Class. The stickers have a similar color to the modern ATI siren stickers.
What type of control panel is used in this video?
Cool
I love it so much
Alarms through outdoor sirens starts here: 0:26
Mark
Hoping the right folks have control of this.
By the way this outdoor siren is an ATI HPSS 16
I wish I had one
are the alarms different for each warning? ie active shooter, fire alarm, lighting warning, etc?
Not necessarily, normal siren systems communicate the emergency with different tones, while a military base will communicate via the command post. The lengths are also different, so the siren (always the same tone) will last 160 seconds in a real emergency and 30 seconds in a test.
For my base, it seems to be the same. It does alert every Friday for tests and it did alert for a tornado that we had a couple months ago
one example of this. Local Walmart. Fire Alarm/Paging in one
cool
What the hell was the chime at the start lol
🙏🙏🙏 coming soon to a city near you!!!! Please God we need a miracle!!!!
ATI Controls is the one that control these (Siren: ATI HPPS 16)
Where is this located and tested?
Wow all the fire alarms are Wheelock exceders
Giant Voice is one of the comms right?
Love the HPSS siren
It’s an E class actually
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL Nope. E-Classes have ASC logos, and have a windup when they start.
@@natestrains1166 Yea I just figured out it is indeed an ATI. ATIs have those blue dots on the center of the speakers and like you said, ECs have the ASC logos. E Classes don’t always have a windup and ATIs always beep before actually sounding. I think this thing could be on an ASC controller
ATI use E Class tone, no wind-up
When is Weekly Test at
What Time
What date
Wheelock alarms and an ASC E-Class running the same tone? Interesting.
They may be connected to the same circuit I’m guessing
That's an ATI HPSS-16.
Our once a month test of the Outdoor system has become Ignorable. The BIG Hit will be when Everyone's Cell Phones go off at the same time. THAT would do it. But there has Never been a "Test" of that.
Do u ever get 🌪s
Where was this video taken because I want to go and see the siren if I ever get an opportunity and take a video and the voice sound a bit like you pretty cool 😁😁😁😉😉😉🚨🚨🚨
Beale AFB in California tests their system weekly on every Tuesday, Usually between 10-12 AM.
Every building? I haven't seen even one of those.
Nice a ATI
Do a system. Test of fire drill
S.E.R how can I wire a fci ms 6 with a system sensor P4W 4 wire horn strobe
Wire the wires going from the pull station to one circuit on the alarm, and use jumpers to the other circuit to achieve full operation of the device.
It sounded like it said the giant moist system
The ATI sirens are not my favourite but still nice catch
@@alerlattan3635 This is an ATI siren, the ATI logos are on the horns
0:44 ati hpps-16??
We just get ours sent to our cell phones
The sirens sound like ASC I-force sirens
Your right but they change it
Sounds like a E Class but wind up too
0:28 ati hpss-16 moment
Entering the giveaway I love this video
The amber strobe is flashing on the wheelock amber alert strobe!
I am fan
Time traveler 🧳 the earth is flat 😂
Is that sound harmful or healing to our health ❤
Wait so does every building in the town have speakers or is it like a campus
It would be impractical to have the entire system wired for one town.
It would also be time consuming to setup the system throughout a town.
This type of system would most likely be on a campus. The system in this video is at a military base.
@@LogicDoesStuff ah okay it makes sense now. I was like but like why? 🤣 I suppose for a town, those emergency alerts on your phone would be as effective and easy to setup
@@willpower3544 A NOAA Weather Radio would also be good as it has various Civil Emergency Alerts.
IT looked scary to me 😮😮
Tyndall AFB?
Im neer there!!
So it can be used for a tornado warning ⛈🌪🚨
On military they’re used for all emergencies, that includes tornados
That is awesome thank you 😊❤️👍

Can someone please tell me what a voice mass system is???
A voice evacuation system with mass strobes. So like coloured strobes is a mass system.
wtf why an ati
huh i have not seen this in my town
Not every building will have these mass notification systems. It's not often that you'll see one of these unless you work at a place with a mns.
Hi how can I connect these with my Microsoft teams account so that I don't miss any important notifications?
What Siren Is That
Is an ATI HPSS 16
too bad they are ati sirens tho
