Because the cooperations in control of the media dont want the population to be happy and laugh. They want you to live in fear and sad.
Absolutely, he's just incredibly funny and talented. So many characters and sketches that left me in tears of laughter .
He's hugely respected for Nandor the Relentless though... I mean, that show is the best thing in years. All of the characters, the writing... even some of the props lol
The very honest answer? British colored actors aren't really given that much attention until they cross over to the the American cinema/TV. I am talking early late 2000/early 2010s, they had great talent but they only got to know of them once they went to the US. People like Idris or Riz. Koyvan kind of stayed in the British TV bubble, which is good or bad depending on who you like to be? given that we don't know the person personally, maybe for him, it wasn't really about money and just about having fun?
