  • ACID REFLUX or GERD (GASTRO ESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE) affects about 25% of the world's population. GERD also affects a lot of Hashimoto's patients and is also seen in many other autoimmune conditions. In this video, I share the functional medicine approach to treating GERD. I talk about the basics of digestion, causes for improper digestion and ways to fix digestion and reduce acid reflux. I also talk about other triggers of GERD like certain foods and medications.

I forgot to mention this useful resource in my video. This book 'Why Stomach acid is good for you' is written by an MD Physician, Dr Jonathan Wright who is trained in functional medicine and explains all the science behind low stomach acid and how it can cause GERD.---> amzn.to/3ib6Owr

Keto may help some people as it cuts out the carbs and along with all processed foods and sugars etc. However, there are other foods that i mention in my video for example peppermint, chocolate etc which can be a trigger for some people and can cause reflux.
