- Mezzoforte is an instrumental jazz-funk fusion band from Iceland, formed in 1977. They signed a record deal with Icelandic label Steinar. Their biggest hit single was "Garden Party" (1983), taken from their fourth album (second international release) Surprise Surprise.
Garden Party is still in my Top 10 tracks of all time, absolutely LOVE it! 😀
I discovered them in 1985........ crazy to see them playing the same....awesome and probably unique in music history 😘👏

Does anyone know how to get the sax sound like in the solo of "Down town"? Is it some kind of pedal or they send the sax sound to some kind of synth and then get that sound?

Вы видели 40-летие Mezzoforte. Оно прошло в сентябре. Перкашник и гитарист которые тоже выступали на 2007-ом.

@@АлександрМаслов-ю3т Там звук смонтираван. То есть записан отдельной дорожкой и обработан всё сделано как фильм. Ну и играли естественно аккуратней. Знали что пойдёт в тираж
Still one of my jazz rock all time favorites. The boys still sound fresh. Very likable, especially Fridrik Karlsson's bungled solo at daybreak (16:20), has lost a bit of the thread ;-).
