  • Your guide to quickly painting up batteries of Napoleonic cannons.
A combination of airbrushing, army painter speed paints, acrylics and washes makes short work of these otherwise cumbersome miniatures.
This tutorial can be used on any army just by changing the color choices. Let me know in what the comments if this helped you paint up your guns!

just began painting my first Russian Army but there are one or two points of which are nit clear to me, the main one is what are Licornes ? you say they are 20lb guns which would be very heavy. Are they a field piece? or purely defensive static guns? Any information would be appreciated.

They were called 20 pounder Unicorns. There’s stats for this type of gun battery in the Clash of Eagles Black Powder supplement. I haven’t used them in game yet but I’m pretty sure they’ll wreck havoc on the enemy.

@@no.6minis i have looked on Google for information and there is surprisingly little to be had. There is more information on the F35. Lol

I primed my artillery and infantry in dark angel green. How would you recommend I proceed if I intend to use speed paints?

    • @no.6minis

You would want to carefully go over the areas that are not supposed to be green with white paint or brush-on white primer and then put speedpaints on top of the white. It’s a bit of a pain but not impossible.

@@no.6minis would doing a green grey drybrush then a white and then hitting it with the speed paints work to mimic the zenithal you did in this video?

@@LordNikku I think if you went with a straight white drybrush and skip the green-gray step, it would be similar to an airbrushed zenithal.
