Hiya Katrina, so much appreciated, instead of a long comment from me,I shall sum it up in a sentence. If there ever was a more idilic garden space to strive for it would be yours. Congratulations on your moment in the spotlight wow! Will see if I can watch across the pond. Blessings my friend to you and yours Ontario Canada Thankyou 🐝
I just rediscovered your charming garden, & added notifications so I won't lose track of you again. You're plant choices are an inspiration - just what I needed today. It's now nearing the end of November, 2021 here in Massachusetts, so even the colorful fall foliage has died off. Now we head into the long winter months here in my Zone 5B. I still have lots of cleaning up to do, but it's finally turned cold & the soil is hard. We've had a couple inches of snow, which has remained. Seeing your garden erupting in Spring, so fresh & full of anticipation reminds me, all is not lost.
Wonderful tour as always. It has been the same in France, rain, rain, rain for weeks and no sun. But, to cheer myself up, I was telling myself that we'll have a hot summer without a doubt, so let's accept the rain as long as it lasts.
So refreshing walking through your garden with you...you are an inspiration...I am on the N.W. Oregon coast, U.S.A. also planting the garden....the weather is like yours. Thank you, hugs.
I have just watched your “Gardeners World “ piece. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I found your channel by accident as I was looking for some information on raised beds and fruit bushes and you appeared. You have given me so many ideas for my bumbling around my garden. I am now growing potatoes in pots , raspberries, shallots, black currants, redcurrant, radishes, coloured carrots and beetroot all outside, together with various tomato plants and chillies in my greenhouse, plus rebuilding various flower beds around the garden with plants I am growing from seed. A great and cheap way of spending retirement time. My next project is to try and get acer seeds to germinate!! Your Vlogs are great for inspiration and instruction. I look forward to the next one.
Hi Katrina.Your garlic LOOKS GREAT.In Brooklyn,NY USA we had 2 to 3 inches of rain Friday to Sunday.May 29 to May 30.I do not want anymore rain.It can rot the garlic now.
Thanks so much for sharing your garden life with us! I absolutely love it when you gasp at things you find. I do the same thing, but I am alone no camera or anyone else around, so basically I gasp and then tell the plant how excited I am:) Thanks again!
You and your plants are so healthy. You always take simple steps to identify your ideology about plants which is quite easy to understand. Thanks, Ma'am for your great contribution to us.
just thought I pop in to catch some shade and lighter clothes. summer has finally arrived with a bang after all the rain. Denmark here so just a little behind you. enjoy the weather and the garden. mother nature calls me out to dig.
First time watcher. Yours is the prettiest allotment that I’ve seen so far, like a secret garden. Love how everything is growing in riotous abandon. Going to go back and catch up with all the rest of your videos. #SouthernAustralia
Your new flower border has grown so much, it looks so lovely. Your grandmother would love it I’m sure 🙂 I’m not in the UK so didn’t see the GW episode but found it online so I could watch your segment which was great. Very happy for you Katrina!
Thank you for sharing your lovely garden with us 🙏🏽 You know what.. really see you working together with monty and lovely Allen and al the others ..🍀🙏🏽💝 You really got ‘it’ on camera🌼
Greetings from Australia, so sorry your weather has been challenging, how delightful is your Allotment, have been following you for a while. Loved your memorial garden series. We had our first serious frost so winter comes.
I planted kidney beans between my rows of sweet corn and sweet potatoes between the rows of popcorn. I did winter squash with the sweet corn last year but it spawled outside the bed and made it hard to get to the corn. Planted mixed colors of lupine this year for those big flower spikes.
Your videos are really lovely. I love to watch you. Winter here in New Zealand and we have just had a masive rain storm after an autumn of no rain at all. So today its clean up day. There is water debris everywhere.
Watching your channel is my guilty pleasure. You are calming and inspire me to try new things all the time. Your plot really is a haven for wildlife and a wonderful balance between nature and nurture. I am very proud of you and I hope every now and then you are able to see your wonderful achievements. Big love, Rob.
Katrina once again nice videoclip from your beautiful Homegrowngarden! Every time I learn more from your plants, vegetables and flowers. Greetings Pieter Smit from the Netherlands
Here in Belgium it was also more fall rather than spring. Still now tulips are blooming. Crazy weather ... Hopefully June will be a better month fir our plants ...they need it.
Thank you for your sharing of your experiences in your beautiful garden the LORD has blessed you with. You help so many with what you do. God does tell us in His 7th commandment not to misuse His name. I pray He opens your heart to see that saying "Oh my God" is being disrespectful. I understand so many are in the dark about this command. I pray for your awareness dear Katrina. Exodus 20:7, Psalm 103:1-1-5. God bless you. 💜✝️
@@sherrimisch2012 I did not write what you quoted, but I believe exclaiming God's name "OH, my God ....how I love you or that's so lovely and breath taking what you created" is different than taking his name in vain. Thank you for your time.
Another great video whereby I hit the 'thumbs up' during the intro. I'm particularly interested to watch the progress of the sunflowers and corn, then the potatoes, peas and beans, then the carrots and tomatoes. Well done. Quality as always.
April and may were so tough as a gardener! I’m in Staffordshire uk. Bit the bullet mid may and planted up the plot. After all the rain followed by the amazing sunshine it’s all growing now. Sadly the bind weed is too so I face a new battle 😆😆😁
Love your garden! I so wish I had the space to grow perennials. It's what I did in the late 80s/90s, but now it's mostly just vegetables (in this location). Here in Southern California I'm currently harvesting green beans and have just pulled out the remainder of my shelling peas. My pet squirrel is enjoying them immensely. Lots of green cherry tomatoes, a few small slicers starting, cucumbers will start being harvested within the week, and the zucchini plants have just started flowering. The weather has been so mild lately -- high 60s/low 70s and mostly cloudy -- not the norm for here. Looking forward to following along with your gardening year.
Here in PA I've had late frosts and very little rain in april,no rain in may until yesterday. It has been four years without good peach weather but they are booming right now! Your oasis very amazing, great work.
The lovely pink flowers with the variegated leaf are called Coralbells. May has been silly here in the Northern U.S. as well. It was near freezing at night last week. It's gonna be 95° F all week this week. I completely missed out on peas this Spring. Oh well. Here's hoping for Autumn peas!
Your garden plot is so lovely.. 😊 We get so busy in the garden that we don't see the wood for the trees do we.. Lovely little surprises when we just walk around and take it all in and see all the beauty right in front of us. 😊
Thank you for your hard work making these. Cheered me right up. Doing a DIY SOS for a friend whilst their having a break this bank holiday so won't be planting out much until later in the week. Be well and stay safe.
Hi. Your garden looks brilliant.. I'm a gardener by profession, there's mainly no hard set rules, what works in one garden may not work in another. One problem I had in alot of gardens in dry April was dogs browning off lawns with urinating.. Your garden looks sheltered with hedges etc, that makes a huge difference. My work is on dartmoor.. Different set of challenges... That cold snap has put everything behind. Your veg looks great.
The plant at 4:30 ish, is a 'Eye Spy' Heucherella. Very much will tolerate shade, lovely in pots where there is Northern light, lovely plant, and very beautiful foliage ❤
My grandma unfortunately passed away in March. My mum found a bag full of runner bean seeds in her house recently, which I don't know how old they are, mum thinks they are from quite a long while ago, I've planted them today, and will see if they come up!
Wow, you're so far ahead of us (Sweden, by the East Sea). We're late this year, but still, there's such a difference. My broad beans are about three inches high, and nothing is even close to where you are. But we'll get there! Finally some warm weather now after all that rain.
Considering the weather we've had, your garden is doing really well.. Bit of warmth it will grow crazy...your lupins will look a picture this year. Thay look very healthy..not sure about quaker grass..tends to spread everywhere. Love the soft fluffy Ness and colours of the flower beds. 👍
The flare's cool. Our weather's opposite. We had more rain in April than May. If our summer is dry, I'm ready to set up a canopy. Last year some of the plants were sunburned. What if you use a claw-foot tub, an above-ground pond, or imagine a solar-powered water pump pouring into a pond. Create a tropical forest. Easier said than done. 😁
The blackfly are also exploding here in America, the first time I have ever seen them do that. They are all over the new leaf tips of the cherry trees.
Never seen Hawthorn looking so resplendent in all my 50 plus years.. same to be said for Bird Song.. and Meadow Buttercup.. something weird going on...:-)
Hi! New viewer here and I found you through Gardeners World. I’m in the second year of trying to figure out homegrowing produce up in Northern Sweden - Brit abroad so all my mum’s best advice doesn’t necessarily apply here. We’ve had it cold too but sunny days have helped things along in my conservatory and raised beds a lot. The almost 24 hour light will hopefully get things going really fast now, which is needed because our growing season is so short! Just starting out with no dig too so that’ll be an interesting process. Looking forward to seeing how your plot develops through the summer months.
My lemon tree has just started to grow new leaves after transplanting, very slow this year so hold on to it. I also have been late sowing my parsnips (last week) & I’m sowing my cucumbers today.
