Bikepacking is a great way of exploring the outdoors, but it can be overwhelming knowing what equipment to bring, and the gear that is available can be really expensive.
I headed to Decathlon with my mate George to see what bikepacking accessory bargains you can pick up for very little money that will make your next trip more enjoyable.

I'm often amazed at the value for money of Decathlon stuff, so much better than the budget UK outdoor chains.

Those Decathlon mini rucksacks are great we have several in our house, great for quickly packing food into and for days off. The side load cages are great, also for kids bikes!

Hadn't thought about the general benefit of side load cages for people who might otherwise struggle to reach. Cheers for the insight!

I own one of the decathlon head torches and can say it's excellent. Can't go wrong for £10. Usb chargeable as well. Fits in in frame bag and good for camping too.
Decathlon also do some good cheap lights for inside the tent or for the dinner table when dark. We paid £5 for one that fits in saddle or frame bag (smaller than a tennis ball).

Great, glad to hear! Yes almost also was going to suggest a lamp for campsite / the tent but had to stop the list somewhere! 😂

1:07 I first thought you said "less room for your balls" also makes sense if you're mounting your bugs near your seat

I love the Petzl headlamps, specifically the Bindi. Super lightweight plus can serve as front or rear light.
Usually i have the Swift RL pro on my helmet. And the normal Swift RL on my handlebar.
The RL tech means that the headlamp automatically dims the light in a brighter environment. Very useful along Aand B roads with oncoming traffic at night. I have a short review on my channel.

I can say bikepacking on a brompton can be done, have the right tent is important and bags.
