I remember this cutscene.
Since i had not cleaned out all of the aliens, there was still a lone sectoid peeking around the van in the "you can kill them?" part.
aw cute. "What am I gonna do now? Do I shoot them? What if they have, like, mental powers? They tore Keith and Terry to pieces in front of me, armor and all! Oh boy... Command will be so freaking pissed... (hides under the van) Maybe I can scram, lay low for a while. Get a surgery, I dunno, join a travelling show or something. Are humans still doing these? Shit... This is unfair. I can't even sell this freaking lowest bidder POS that's bolted to my freaking arm! I am so screwed. And... and of course. I forgot my smokes at the dropship. This is it, dammit. I've had enough of this shit. (wriggles himself out from under the van) FOR THE MASTER!!!"
I had a Mechtoid just standing around in the background. I could have killed it, but I didn't know that getting to the van would end the mission.

The game assumes that you have conventional weapons for the cutscene

I mean annete was just a french civilian girl, even the rookies of xcom rookies is a high end millitary elite
Got to love how every scene is in real time so your soldiers are wearing proper armour , helmets and weapons ;)
And shooting physical bullets from their laser weaponry. 😌

(Also last time in my game... scripted event when the 2nd wave of enemies with a Mectoid appear was bugged and triggered the 1st wave again, while all my soldiers where in the middle... still reck them all in one turn... 'course this was Normal dificulty, Classic would've been a death trap)

I've yet to try the Second mission on the sling shot DLC and if i do It's gonna be With a god damn team of S.H.I.V.'s

A lot o things are killable if you have just about 99 soldiers who have trained to do kill them time after time. MEC for the win.
Played the whole game again to get her because I skipped the damn mission like a dumb-ass

How does the scene play out if you have an all MEC squad?
I'm not sure about an all MEC squad, but my MEC was the squad leader, and she got bowled over as well.

Yes, I can confirm this from seeing this cutscene in diferent playtroughs with a MEC, it does get knocked back a bit as well.
The question remains, what about a Shiv-com squad? (All shivs)
