  • This is an interview series of The Beijing Urban Architecture Biennale (BUAB) 2020’s pilot exhibition, where 20 internationally renowned architects are invited, including:

    The interviews revolve around these 5 questions:
    - How should architecture seek a balance between all the complex parameters?
    - Is architecture going towards arts in the future? Or technology?
    - Where's the boundary of the architecture discipline?
    - What kind of city is Beijing?
    - What kind of biennial is needed in Beijing?

    About Rem Koolhaas
    Rem Koolhaas is a Dutch architect, architectural theorist, urbanist and a Professor at Harvard University. In 1975, He founded OMA together with Elia and Zoe Zenghelis and Madelon Vriesendorp. He is seen by some as one of the most significant architectural thinkers and urbanists of his generation. His writings have been inspiring the architecture industry for decades: in 1978 he published the internationally renowned Delirious New York: A Retroactive Manifesto for Manhattan; in 1995, his book S, M, L, XL summarized the work of OMA in "a novel about architecture".
    Among many other honors, Rem Koolhaas was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2000 and the Golden Lion of the Venice Biennale of Architecture for lifetime achievement in 2010. In 2008, Time put him in their top 100 of The World's Most Influential People.
