My uncle was a bodyguard from the German side and met Kennedy at the airport. He said "Welcome Mr. President" and he said "Well, what´s your name". My uncle said: Paul. Kennedy said: Well, would you like to be called Paul or Mr. Security. My uncle said: Paul. Then Kennedy said: Then you call me John.

He got treated better in Berlin, the capital of a nation he personally fought against during WWII, than in Dallas! This is literally less than two years out from when he saved the Berliners (and world) from Armageddon, and you can tell the Berliners are grateful since they would have been the first to die in WWIII. "Anyone who is a free man is a citizen of Berlin," I love this since I really want to see this city and the German nation.

I read about his sexual intimacy with actress Marlyn Monroe but paid no attention. By chance, I have gone through the interview (three video-based detailed answer question sessions) of Mimi Alford a white House internee which she gave to ABC TV. The psychologists were also interviewed and they commented and analyzed the sexual appetite of JFK. You, please also watch that interview, there is no gap or flaw or lacuna in her replies. All important aspects are/were minutely discussed and scrutinized. You can blame me only if I attached something from my own self.

I was 9 years old when MR Kennedy came to our home in Wilmington Delaware only 4 days before he was killed in Dallas . My mother was what they called a Socialite in 1961 & donated a lot of money to MR Kennedys campaign . He was only 5 chairs away from me at dinner . I will always remember his teeth & smile . Yes even I find that odd but its what I remember . MRS Kennedy wore a pale blue gown with a wrap & my Mother wore a pale blue gown with a full length cape & gloves . I got forced to where a white tux with black tie . . So long ago but not really . They are all gone now . So Sad ...

One of the moments of my childhood that I will never forget - even at age 10, I was a precocious, bright, genius - even "geeky" / "nerdy" kid - especially in subjects of the humanities - history / civics- political science / philosophy / geography / literature etc.!!! I followed in newspapers (we got three dailies) at our rowhouse home in South Baltimore's Curtis Bay neighborhood (a waterfront, blue collar / working class and industrial/commericial neighborhood along with residential on a steep hill overlooking Baltimore's famous port & harbor) and on TV news (which was still growing & developing as a media through the 1950s decade) since the 1960 Presidential Election which I also recall watching results on a small black & white TV with a porthole screen!!! I followed national & international events along with my parents and read books - even soon adult-sized thick histories / biographies - a frequent visitor to our local public library system's - first at our local Brooklyn Branch #23 and by age 11 going on the transit bus / streetcars to the big Central Library downtown - (first in America - the "Enoch Pratt Free Library")!! His assassination & funeral glued me and my family to the TV all weekend in November 1963. I ave been a proud educated - knowledgable - committed but moderate progressive liberal Democrat (and aware of its failures - short-comings & unfortunate scandals!!) but mostly great accomplishments of international liberalism in the West and know we are on the "right side of history"!!! Although later disappointed by the mid 1970s with revelations about JFK's sex trysts - I still believed in our cause!! Conservative Republicans have to apologize for Nixon's "Watergate" and even for Harding & Coolidge & later McCarthy!! = D.E.T. / E.T.2 (Baltimore, Maryland - U.S.A./ E.U.A. - Monday evening - February 24th, 2020) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidency_of_John_F._Kennedy

The president visited West Berlin on about June 26. I was stationed in Kassel, West Germany. I traveled to West Berlin on the US Army train on September 7 and walked most of the wall from that day until September 12. I photographed probably more than what my president saw. All my photos will be in my memoirs which I am writing and hope to publish sometime this year. I doubt if anyone will read it, but I can only hope my story will be of some interest to some?

What happened is when the East Germans found out that the US president was visiting West Berlin they had on purpose blocked Brandenburg Gate so he couldn't look into East Berlin and those signs were "justification" for the reason why they built the wall.
What is funny, those signs were specifically for Kennedy but they were in German not English.
