Cry Baby is definitely one of the best Opening Songs of this Summer Anime Season because the bass line of this song is simply irresistible. After finishing my JoJo Piano Project, I decided to make piano covers of seasonal Anime series again, starting with Tokyo Revengers.
This arrangement follows very closely the original song and I tried to imitate the bassline as good as I can in the left hand. I always use staccato whenever the bassline has an active role, for example during the verse in 0:11, the second verse in 1:49 or even the chorus in 2:57.
I only changed one part of the song and that is the “introduction” part at the very beginning. The original song starts in G-minor and then immediately makes a key change to F-minor. For some reason, the key change sounds very out-of-place if you play it on the piano. Therefore I changed it to F-minor to streamline the arrangement a little bit.
Speaking of key change: When I was listening to this song for the first time, I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard the sudden key change in 0:59. That key change was so sudden, so out of the blue, I was completely speechless (and amazed at the same time.)
This piano arrangement is also dedicated to a certain Tokyo Revengers Character in 4:04. “Let’s split it, okay?”

This is the first song released in my lifetime that has genuinely blown me away. Not only is it ridiculously catchy, but also musically interesting - the way it seamlessly moves between multiple keys, rhythms and moods. Every time I listen to it (which is probably 3 times a day), I can't help by think 'I hope Animenz does a cover of this'. Looks like my prayers have been answered, and you did not disappoint!

absolutely love the Tokyo Revengers op one of my all time favorites in quite sometime actually so i love seeing all the love the op/song gets im glad they chose not to change the op as long as they have been keeping it so far cus its a pretty good one to keep the whole season.

Probably it will be "Kaibutsu" because he said he'll do seasonal anime and it's also from Yoasobi, so there's only two options, Kaibutsu or Yasashii Yuurei. But Kaibutsu is way more famous

I'm actually surprised that Tokyo revengers (Cry Baby) opening wasn't ranked in the top 10 most difficult piano arrangements by Animenz...Trurely a masterpiece!
There are pieces animenz arranged recently that are actually harder than crybaby but not included in his top 10 most difficult arrangements like his arrangement of Mixed Nuts, Sakayume, Merry go round of life, Ashes on the Fires, BOY etc.
@@yiee_ Mixed Nuts is too hard to play as well. But searching for Cry Baby piano opening no one nailed it as good as Animenz did. Not talking about the left-hand speed and jumping notes precision makes Cry Baby one of the most difficult. I tried to play it the right and left-hand notes are not the same time play. The left-hand chord goes between the right-hand chords. Requires a lot of time to be able to play it.
Just bought the sheet!!! It’s a bit difficult for me to play (I have small hands) but I’m super excited:)

Considering the absolute epicness of the LH bass in this piece, could you try doing Pretty Boy Detective Club's Opening Shake & Shake by Sumika, I feel like that I've seen how "groovy" Animenz can get with this piece, and It would be great if you would also do another Groovy song :D.
