    When Ava says: I’m not skinny
    GIRL HER BODY IS GORGEOUS LIKE WHAT

    • @Me-vh2uq
      @Me-vh2uq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +82

      She isn’t skinny tho. That‘s not even a bad thing.. nothing against you, but when someone says „I‘m not skinny“ and you say „Noo you‘re so pretty!“ that‘s kinda rude. I know, „sOcIeTy“ but it‘s really like that, society told everyone that you can’t be beautiful if you aren’t skinny.. that‘s just not the truth. I know you probably didn’t mean it like that, but still it really reflects today’s beauty standards. I hope you can understand me haha. My point is: she is beautiful af but not skinny, she‘s medium sized :)

    • @aliciatheduck-9024
      @aliciatheduck-9024 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Me i agree but at the same time she is skinny it’s just today society has made being skinny you have to be the tinest thing ever so like i believe she is medium sized in society today but like she is skinny

    • @Me-vh2uq
      @Me-vh2uq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      alicia madison hmm I don’t think there is a specific „skinny“ in society. Skinny is skinny, society didn’t change that but the thing it DID change is that it made us think that skinny = beautiful. Like Medium-sized isn’t skinny that‘s kinda something medical. If you are like „normal“ or overweight etc.

  • @bethanyfichter

    This is kind of a long message. Sorry, I just felt the need to say this 😅😅 But we've all had struggles with body confidence, and we all *still go through* struggles with it. Personally, I've struggled with acne for about 10 years and I'm not always very confident in my body (also a size M and wear size 8-10 in jeans). It's not easy to feel confident nowadays-- especially since literally no matter what we do, people will drag us down for it. BUT-- you shouldn't let other people affect you. I know how that sounds, but seriously. Everyone has their own issues and insecurities, and those people AREN'T YOU. They have no place and no right to judge you, so take their negativity with a grain of salt. YOU decide how other people's actions and words affect you. *You are you, and that is the most beautiful thing about you, so be proud of the person you were made to be.*
    On the flip side of things, I, like many others, would compare myself to everyone else and think or say rude things about them, probably to somehow feel better about myself, but one day I got tired of doing that. For every negative thing I thought about someone (or myself) I replaced it with at least 2 kind things. Instead of "wow, her hair looks bad," I'd think "wow, her eyes are so pretty!" "her makeup looks amazing!" "that outfit fits her so well!" "she seems like such a kind and inspiring person," etc etc. Getting myself out of that negative mindset was so beneficial and life-changing. It started me on the path of truly loving and accepting myself, and I'm in a much better, healthier state now.

And I know that a lots of people struggle with that, but for anybody strugglining, *watch Ava* because she makes me feel better and also teaches me how to be productive & have healthy habits! I love you Ava!!❤❤❤
    P.S.
    Ava, you're not fat, you're not skinny, you're not even perfect because nobody is perfect. You are just you. You are your own. And, it's your life that you gotta make the happiest because, everybody reading this: YOU. YOU ARE YOUR OWN PERSON. YOU WILL NEVER BE ANYBODY ELSE. it may be sad, but later you will be glad that you read this. Have a nice day, night & beautiful & blessed life!!

    ok here’s my issue, i started crying when i looked in the mirror today because i hate the way my face looks rn, i have acne, dark circles, and i don’t have a very defined jawline and i literally felt so bad i started crying. i was putting makeup on so i didn’t have to see all the little imperfections on my face and when i finished, my boyfriend asked me if i was ok and i started hyperventilating and balling my eyes out. i recently cut my hair and i’ve never had short hair before, like a mini afro, and i feel so insecure and it sucks. this video made me tear up because it made me realize that i’m not the only one with insecurities. it just feels like i’m alone rn because i can’t go and hang out with people. i will gain confidence, but it’s just hard.

I am also not skinny, I’m a tall girl and I know that I will never be “small” or weigh under a certain amount. Body image is a hard thing to deal with and hearing another girl that I can relate to helps me so much. Thank you so much and btw your body is amazing and you’re so pretty ❤️💕

    I’ve been really, really struggling with the fear of getting older recently. I feel like it’s a stupid thing to cry about, but I still do sometimes. My 19th birthday is in June and I’m so sad that it is my last year as a teen... your answer to the question was helpful, though. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!😊

    i think regarding body image, what changed my mindset the most was imagining if my body was my best friend’s. this puts in my mind the things that i would compliment her about and how i would tell her she’s beautiful. by doing that you really realize how all the little things about yourself that you criticize do not matter at all

    Preach sis! Everyone has rolls. I'm super slim and EVEN I have rolls. I've been the same size for years. I'm turning 21 in a few days and people still think I'm 16. And it gets annoying after the first 25 "how old are you's". Don't even listen to the haters Ava. I envy you sis cause clothes fit you so well, and you're super pretty just the way you are 😊. Over the years, I've also learnt to accept my body for what it is. Beautiful just the way I am.

    I used to overthink the way I come across so much. I’d compare my Instagram profile pictures to other‘s to see if it was „okay“ or if it was weird. I would overthink what I was saying in big group chats with people I don’t know that well and change the way I talk depending on who I was talking to. And then I realised that all those confident, outgoing people I admire so much just own their profile pictures. They own the way they talk. Like „this is me, deal with it“. And that’s what I’ve been telling myself whenever those thoughts come up. Whenever I start overthinking what other people think of me. Just own it.

    I'm 15 years old right now and Ava, you're literally my role model. I used to struggle with my body so much (and still do!) and try out different diets and workouts that just never really did anything for me. So, I gave up and started becoming really unhealthy because I felt like I didn't even matter. Lately, you've inspired me to get up and workout to be healthy, not to be skinny. We have the same body type and I look at you glowing with confidence and self-love, thinking that I wanna be like you one day. Don't listen to any of those harsh comments because you're beautiful inside-out! I can't even tell you how many young girls you inspire to love themselves. I LUV you soooooo much and I hope you get all the happiness that you've put out into the world (which is a lot) back. Also don't be shy keep posting the vlogs cuz we love them :)

    I have been struggling a lot with my self confidence these days. I have been working out just to say that as I don’t have a pretty face, I could try to change my body and have the « perfect body » of those girls you see on Instagram. I have been counting my daily calories just not to be « fat ». I have also been complimenting people a lot just to put myself down. I feel like I have everything in my life to be happy but my non existent self confidence just ruins it all. I hope this video will help into having a different mind set in terms of my image. Thank you Ava ❤️ and sorry for my English

      girl!!! do not workout just for the sake of it! please realize that the only reason you should be moving your body is to keep it healthy and energized! do not force urself to do anything, if you don't enjoy working out in the first place, doing it because you hAvE tO will only make you hate it even more! + it can be very dangerous for ur muscles and joints. I know it's sooo much easier said than done and I also know that words from a stranger on the Internet are not going to make any significant change in your life... but girl, been there, done that. I obviously have no clue what you're going through, it's your own journey, but I've been down a very similar road. try to sit on you bed comfortably and relax. you don't have to workout if that's not what makes you happy. maybe try some gentle stretching to calm your body and mind? you don't have to do splits or any fancy yoga positions, just move a little, get to know your body! counting calories? please! girl!!!! do not focus on calories, it is the easiest way to go crazy! just make sure you stay hydrated at all times (water, different teas, you name it!), make sure to have some fruit throughout the day and maybe minimize some deep fried foods. and you're good!!! really. it takes time and plenty of effort to change ur mindset, but YOU ARE capable of this change, just try! ask yourself deep down, honestly, if it was not for social media and """beauty standards""", would you prefer to have a pretty, exhausted body that is never "enough", or a normal, healthy body, one of the kind, that yes, you can work on, gradually get stronger or more flexible, but with which you are not punishing for being exactly what it's supposed to be? sorry for making it so long, I just really want you to consider changing ur mindset, one baby step at the time. start by getting up right now and taking a sip of water. look out the window and smile, even if you'll have to force it. fake it till you make it ;) you're amazing!!!

    • @pen7288
      @pen7288 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oh my do not work out for the sake of working out. I'm sure you are such a beautiful person inside and out, and it's visible through the way you express yourself. Work out because it makes you feel good healthy but don't work out for the sake of working out. Try to find things about yourself that you enjoy, and since you're complimenting others you should try to compliment yourself every now and then! You're a lot harsher with yourself than with other people and that's perfectly normal. I know it's hard but I also know you'll get there. I believe in you!

    Thank you so much for this video, Ava! I turned 20 in January and was also experiencing this fear of getting sooo old all of a sudden haha, glad I'm not alone with that! Do not take this the wrong way when I say how preciously normal you are. I really adore this about you. And I'm not even delving into your personality which is like ummm literal F I R E, but just the outside... Your body is such an average shape and size and it is amazing!!! Can't even think of how many times I've been hurting so much just because I am a size M, not an XS ever since I was like 12... I am a 100% cool with my body now and I'm all for health and improving as long as it is for good reasons, not just to squeeze into jeans that are clearly not made for me haha I am super thankful for you and hope some 13 year olds out there who are just starting to experience any physical changes and may feel lost and insecure will hear you out and learn something beneficial! Sorry for writing a literal essay in comments section XD Keep glowing, be strong and please NEVER doubt your beauty (ik I sound cheesy rn but for real girl) because you are totally gorgeous, fresh like a chilly morning at the seaside and so so so confident!!! you are a goddess, always remember that okay I need to stop talking bye love you

    Ava is literally so nice and speaks so much truth. She also knows and points out things that are VERY important for us to know. We are all human beings and there’s nothing wrong with having insecurities but don’t let them take over your life and don’t let them define you. Also if you’re feeling bad about the way you look because you feel that no one will ever want to be with you just remember there are about 7.8 BILLION people in the world and if even 1% likes that’s 7.8 MILLION choices like sis you’re BEAUTIFUL. Society puts these thoughts into our head that “skinny is pretty”, “straighten your hair”, “workout you look fat” like wth is wrong with you why do you feel the need to put people down. They do this to feel better about themselves and it’s REALLY sad and upsetting. Thanks luvs muah😘

    I don’t know why but I wanted to share this just to feel like I’m not alone or maybe relate to someone idk ok here goes my rant:
    I met my best friend when we were like 2 years old we went to the same day care and our moms got really close and became good friends, I remember we would do everything together however sometimes she would exclude me from certain activities or even from certain friend groups. However as we got older we got closer while still making new friends with other people but our friendship was just special because we shared so many important moments together. However when we started middle school I think that’s kind of the stage where everyone starts finding their friend group and we kind of parted ways because she liked to hang out with more of the popular girls ( which was totally ok with me honestly I was happy for her and all of her friends are super nice but I just don’t identify with them) and I hanged out with the more low key kind of people at my school. I was honestly so hurt when I started seeing how we weren’t hanging out together I tried forcing our friendship together I would try to invite her to my house as much as possible and try to do the same after school activities as her but it just wasn’t working. It’s been like 4 years and I think this year it’s the most separate we have been which is kind of sad but I found a group of friends that is freakin amazing and they accept me completo for who I am I love it because there is no drama and no one is toxic, we all help each other and support each other. I guess what I am trying to say ( I’d anyone even reads this lol) is that sometimes it’s ok to let friendships go that’s just how life works people come into your life and leave and it’s ok maybe in the future we will come closer again or maybe we will separate even more I don’t know all I know it’s that I am happy with the friends I have now and that’s all that matters. Ok wow that was a lot I’m so sorry ok

      something similar happened like this to me last year! I went abroad on holiday 2 years ago and everything, but overtime our friendship grew apart and i am still friends with them, but i have new amazing friends who i have more in common with. people grow apart and everything happens for a reason- and in hindsight most of the time you realise it was for the best x
