Review of the 2520-21XC Milwaukee M12 Fuel brushless hackzall features and performance.
Lots of power for a 12 volt cordless reciprocating saw
Kit 2520-21XC includes one 4.0 amp hour red lithium battery, tool bag, M12 charger, and multi purpose hackzall blade
Bare tool 2520-20 cordless 12 volt sawzall
UK model M12 CHZ
This is your best review to date. Great job with this one Javier!
Thanks Daniel! This is another awesome 12 volt tool!
Thanks for answering the two questions no one else thinks to answer 1)Can you use standard reciprocating saw blades? Yes. 2)Can you place the blade in the saw in either direction? Yes.
Great review as always, Thanks! 👍
BrenticusMaximus1 thanks bro, glad it helped out
I have used full sized blades for the big reciprocating saws in mine but only through lack of availability of the type I prefer. I have the big saw as well and use this mainly for garden pruning and for that it's fantastic. I try to get the hardened steel big jagged toothed blades since it's usually just green timber and they fly through that. My issue that didn't become a problem but, would much faster using the big long blades, is the extra weight being flung back and forth will create a lot faster wear on the whole mechanism. At least for what I'm using it for I almost never need bigger, if I do I just get the chainsaw but, this guy will cut pretty thick branches with the short blades so all that extra length does nothing useful, costs more, wears faster and can get in the way in tight spots so, much better to stick with the short ones and maybe just have a long one you can pop in within about 5 seconds if you really need to any time.
Good job Javier. What's up TIA crew!
Thanks guys!
WHATS UP!!!
What Up??
I just got one of these, and it is impressively powerful! I'm using it with the 4.0 battery mostly cutting 2x material and it cuts well and has long run time. I don't think I would use it for demo work, as I also have the m18 fuel sawzall, but it's great for everything else! If you have the m12 line get this before upgrading to m18 and before going corded, I think it will suit your needs.
Wild Goose thanks for sharing your experience
This thing is awesome! I was really skeptical until I saw you use it!
Its very capable
I just ordered the beginning of my m12 tools & after all the research I have done I'm happy with the choice of getting into Milwaukee tools
Great saw, awesome review! Love the variety of tests you put it through.
Thanks TrevT!
The review was excellent I'm buying mine tomorrow. Thank you.
MexBytes thanks MexBytes
lol 9 years later they still haven’t updated it. I bought mine just under 8 years ago it’s still going! The clip that keeps the clamshells together where you insert the battery is gone. So it will often vibrate the battery out. I have to find a parts diagram and order one. Miss your videos Javier but also understand the TH-cam landscape has changed completely. I hope things are going well for you man. You’re the reason I bought into the M12 platform.
Thanks bro for the kind words. Much appreciated! Glad my videos influenced your buying decisions in a positive way. Yeah it's been a good while since I made videos. It's hard work to make quality content and the views just weren't there to support it unfortunately.
Thanks Javier for your great reviews. I will probably buy the Hackzall after watching this review. All your reviews are great, helpful, and realistic. Peace friend. G
winstonjones1 thanks Winston, glad they help out, take care bro
I do like this milwaukee m12 brushless hackzall. I hope in the next generation they make the front to pivot. I do like that feature on my m18 hackzall.
You sir, you are an artist!
Thanks Brien! you ROCK!
+1 on wanting a rafter hook.
Man everyone has the M12 hackzall and has also made a review about it!! I will say it looks really sweet and might have to replace my old M12 hackzall now :( Another great review Javier aka Mr.toolcrazy
Lol you're right about the amount of reviews. I think you should upgrade if you're thinking about it. I had the original hackzall and it's a good difference in power. Although the size on the original was perfect.
thanks for your demonstration of the tool. Sould be a compact beast and handle most job task. I have the m18 fuel sawzall love it but takes up a lot of room.
Good job Javier. You made up my mind, I'm getting one next week.
Thanks Chris, you won't be dissapointed
P.s.nice review and congrats on over 500 subscribers!
@ Tyler Dama, I like it too. I like the added weight because its better for cutting. A belt clip would be nice. Would have been great since its a compact tool.
Thanks for the review Javier! I think I'm going to go with the fuel. I was originally going to pick up the standard brushed version, but this Fuel version seems like its worth the extra 30 or so dollars. I dont need the 18V, but I do like power. Thanks again for the review J.
Another awesome, informative review. Keep up the great work!!!
Great review and a great tool. I have the M18 version and I love it.
sweetfordfx4 thanks, always wanted to try the m18 one
I'm glad it is still a little "beefy" I think if they went too small you wouldn't have as many places to apply pressure and it would affect performance. but no belt clip?
Man Javier that tool is a beast I've really been thinking about gettin into a 12v line and ur really pushing me towards the red team , I've been lookin at Bosch and milwaukee since dewalt doesn't have much even though I'm dewalt 20v all the way I just can't believe how behind they are :/ great review Javier!
Ha, it's a tiny beast. You could have red and yellow, I do. I started off with the dcd985 dcf885 and a m12 screwdriver. Or you could wait, dewalts been doing good lately with new tools left and right
I hope dewalt does something soon, but once I save up some money I think I'm gonna get a red box to have I know I say I'm a dewalt guy and I am but I don't think it's a bad idea to have all the great tools right?!lol! Thnx for the reviews you do Javier!
Excelente amigo! Buen video y muy buena herramienta! Saludos!
Gracias Walter. Como se llama este tipo de heramienta en español?
ToolCrazy Le llamamos sierra sable y solo algunos le dicen sierra reciproca, no es una herramienta muy conocida en México, pero es una de mis favoritas :)
Another great review
Thanks Regopit!
Great video Javier!! Thanks for that bro!
thanks!
Great review! I'm sold...!
Devon Buy Thanks Devon! its a small little beast and it won't disappoint
Yes, and I've already placed my order, thanks to you! Will be up on www.devonbuy.com in due course...
Awesome bro, I noticed your site the other day, good job
Thanks man! I always love watching your video reviews too!
Great review! How do you think this will perform on tree limbs, maximum 2-3 inch diameter? Will use pruning blades, of course.
I already have the m12 fuel hammer drill/impact combo, so this would be a good addition. I like the Fuel Sawzall, but don't have any m18 tools/batteries.
Thanks!
delfonik thanks bro! I haven't tried it on tree limbs but it tears through 2x4's no problem so it should be fine with a pruning blade.
If you already have m12 then it makes sense to stick to m12 unless you need the serious performance of the m18 fuel. And I think you already know what to expect if you buy this fuel hackzall since you have m12 fuel tools- nearly 18v power in a compact 12v size
Great video! Like the music too.
thanks bro!
Great video
excellent video! thanks!
thanks for watching
Que tal Xavier, oye buen video ;), sería interesante una comparativa entre makita, milwaukee, dewalt y bosch de 12v, saludos.
Nice job!
Thanks bro
Great video! But where did the nails go after sawing through the lumber?
Thanks, I'm pretty sure they're at the bottom of some landfill
does anybody know how well it will cut duct work? say maybe 22 gauge sheet metal being max?
It'll do fine just get a metal cutting blade
That intro has mean bass. whats the song called i want it
good job....one question.. have you tried pruning with it?
Jody Reed Thanks Jody! I've used it for demo work but I haven't used it for pruning yet. I will say its a huge upgrade over the other brushed 12v models currently on the market in terms of raw power including the original brushed hackzall.
ok...i was thinking about it for hunting, to clean up some sight paths ....seems like it would work....and keep the vids coming!
Are the cutting tests from 3:05 to 4:10 real time or you fast forward?
Real time. All in action tests in all my videos are in real time. Only tests involving runtime are sped up.
Tool Craze That’s pretty fast. Your video convinces me to get one. My first Milwaukee tool will be this hackzall and the M12 rotary tool.
that's awesome! I love the M12 system
Hey I know this question is not related to the video but I was planing on buying a Milwaukee hackzall. Which would you recommend between the m12, m12 fuel or m18? I work in the hvac field and mainly need it to cut 3" pvc. Thanks
pariente fierro if only pvc I'd go with m12, if you need to cut harder materials I'd go with m18 or m12 fuel
I agree. Basically in a hackzall like this, the m12 fuel or the m18 there is not much difference. It depends on what batteries you have more of or want to use. The m18 will be bigger, heavier and a little bulkier to use. Compared to the m12 fuel, the m18 is not much more powerful to justify the platform change. I only buy the fuel tools over the regular when they are available. In other tools the performance can be much better, like in the impacts, but not as much with this. Unless you go to the m18 full size sawzall, then the difference is significant. Also if you are going to be cutting 2 in or smaller pvc, you may want to consider the m12 mvc electric shear. It is great, fast and you do not have pvc dust and burs left behind. Don't forget also that milwaukee has a copper tubing cutter, and a copper crimper both powered. If you need them, they make your job so much easier and are amazing! Milwaukee really has some specialty tools.
nice video mate, perhaps a tutorial could be another level..
thanks
Where to buy?
All the major online retailers here in USA
Ebay as well. Anytime you need anything, just look on ebay. Many major retailers online sell on ebay and some times their prices on ebay are less than on their own websites. Why? Who knows?
Love your reviews, but please lose the loud obnoxious music. It does NOT improve your videos.
First..lol nice job crazytoolman
Thanks Frankie! Did you get your tools from tools R us yet?
ToolCrazy just the m12 fuel impact driver and drill...the 1/2 fuel wrench and fuel sawzall til the 22nd:(
3:49 where are the nails ??? read more
