This just might be the greatest dog video ever made. No kidding. Everything is perfect. The music, the simple setting, the gentle care that mum takes not to disrupt her dog's nap too much even though he's getting in the way of a daily chore. There's plenty of over produced videos out there now using drones, go pros etc, but this video is the one that speaks loudest of what living with a dog is all about.
A good friend sent me this today. I cried a little because of how much I miss my dawggie. He has been gone since 2006 and not a day goes by that I don't think of him... Daddy misses you - wooof! Thank you soooo much for posting this! It could not have come at a better time!
Our doggos are our fur-children---I miss my Beagle Bailey every day as well since 2012. I love my current beagle, Sidney, every day as well. Our dogs have such short lives. R.I.P., Frank the Tank.
frank reminds me of little cubby. he passed on a couple months ago. watching this made me cry because cubby always got his way with me. i wont go fishing in the clark fork river because fishing without my best buddy isnt the same. please everyone, hug your puppy today and tell them you love them.
This is adorable. I don't imagine putting the sheets back on goes quite as smoothly. Frank is a sweetiepie. Love how he puts his chin on the pillow right away.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, they DO drool a LOT. My husband is a neat-freak and he goes around once a week and scrubs the slobber off the walls, doors, and cabinets. Frank and Sarah are so sweet that we put up with the drool :)
Aww Frank is great!!! Only the owner of a basset hound would do this!! My Daisy is like a baby she gets cranky if you wake her up during her morning nap!
now this one made me cry it reminded me of my father talking to rigo, at first he didnt really like rigo but then he started to like him with a lovely tone he used to tell him to go to sleep...
I miss my Juju (Juliet) basset so MUCH... She's been gone for 10 days now, after living happily for a whole 15 years. She was from January 2000. Hope we'll be with each other again soon, my Juju
I got lucky with my basset hound. He was my first basset hound ever. he only drools if he is begging for food or after he takes a drink of water. he is so easy to train and the best dog i have ever had. Unlike most basset hounds he is very active and believe it or not the fastest dog we have! He is very loving and watchful over the family. we trained him in one week. to ring a bell on our door to go outside to go potty. i would recommend a basset hound for anyone.
Wow--that looks very familiar when I'm trying to gather our sheets, too. We have one of the laziest Westies ever, and at 15 mos. she's still basically a pup. Very cute video!
Awww that is such a shame x Maybe once you get over the grieving process, you could consider adopting a rescued dog. There are so many out there hoping to have a new mummy/daddy, then you can go fishing again. I know one dog never replaces the other, but it could bring you some comfort and you will have brought happiness to a poor abandoned doggy x
"Hey....I was sleeping there." or "Yeah the sheets are looking a big dingy, could you please take care of them....while I sleep on top of them. Thank ya much!"
Oh my! Your Frank and my Clyde should get together and do competitive napping! Bassets really are amazingly stubborn when it comes to their sleeping spots - or anything else. Frank is adorable.
Soooo cute! My basset has this whole routine where she pretends she's ready to hop off the bed (I have to help her off because she's old) and just as I'm about to get her off she flops on her side... gotcha! No gettin' up!
Best video ever!!! Love the music too. Wonder where it’s from? Hope she and her hubby are still around and okay. Would love to see more videos. I always come back here❤️
OMG !! Actually you could simply wrap Frank in the bedsheet and put them altogether in to the washing machine !! Hahahahaha..... Frank is really comfort worshipper !
Mine uses the same strategy of turning up side down ... And beside, he bends his neck all to the same size, drawing a "up side down U dog" that halts your brain for some seconds: The dog cuteness attack :-)!
I love your video. I can tell you love your dog. Your much more patient with him than I would be with mine though. She tried this on me a time or two. I just pulled the sheets over her and rolled her off onto the floor. (My bed sits lower.) I tell her to go to bed & she heads off to hers now. Bassets do make comfy bed accessories though, don't they?
My Copper does the same thing...he is so spoiled....and when ever I have the bed freshly made he gets up and wallers all over the clean to get his sent on the bed...lol
I LOVE Frank and it's a shame you had to disturb his sleep!! Could you not have changed the bed after his nap? Just kidding!!! I've got two gorgeous sisters Bassets and had Bassets for EVER!!! We adore them!!!
The breed standard has changed in the last few years (it used to be "loose skin" and now it's "supple and elastic"), so most of them don't drool quite as much. Mine is 13 years old and, like you, we have to clean slobber off _everything._
No slobber on my walls. My basset hound only drools if someone teases her by eating something extra desirable, right in front of her. Many dogs, not just basset hounds do this. Suggest not eating right in front of my dog. She drips after drinking water. This is not drool; it's because of her droopy lips. I wipe after drinking. The concern that wasn't mentioned is the propensity for ear moisture that can cause fungal or bacterial growth. This is a regular maintenance issue U may not like.
once we had to move a rug in our house, and our basset was sleeping on it and would not move. So both of us picked up the rug w/ her still lying on it.
@fuzzwaldsmom I had a basset for 10 years and she rarely drooled, unless there was something she REALLY wanted, but no more than any other dog. They just have "loose lips" lol
This is such a cute video, its great to see an owner pamper her doggy x Some would just shove the poor doggy off the bed! My pet loves bed changes so much he jumps on the bed when I start - needless to say, I give up with the bed change and go back when he is distracted with something else! I don't know what it is that he love so much about it - maybe the rough and tumble of the sheets being pulled.
This just might be the greatest dog video ever made. No kidding. Everything is perfect. what a helpful fellow! you would never have gotten the sheets changed without him
Just precious. Frank will always be a favorite of mine. Dear boy and he had such a wonderful home and life with you.
A good friend sent me this today. I cried a little because of how much I miss my dawggie. He has been gone since 2006 and not a day goes by that I don't think of him... Daddy misses you - wooof! Thank you soooo much for posting this! It could not have come at a better time!
I had the same reaction too. I lost my Fred back in December and I miss him more each day.
chimsuaumo 😔😔
I still cry 4my Son Arthur.. Painful.. Like the hush puppy hound..
Our doggos are our fur-children---I miss my Beagle Bailey every day as well since 2012.
I love my current beagle, Sidney, every day as well.
Our dogs have such short lives.
R.I.P., Frank the Tank.
I love how Frank understands and is in total control of the situation.

Life isn't easier with Bassets, but it sure is richer.
Carol Whitehouse that's for sure❤️😂
Carol Whitehouse 😁😁
Jolene Kladouris 😀
This is adorable. I don't imagine putting the sheets back on goes quite as smoothly. Frank is a sweetiepie. Love how he puts his chin on the pillow right away.
Never in history has there been a kinder, sweeter, more gentle friend than a basset hound.
The videos of this hound are hysterical!!!!! Thank you for posting. TO sweet.
Revisiting thirteen years later and the pup still gives me the giggles. What a sweetheart!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, they DO drool a LOT. My husband is a neat-freak and he goes around once a week and scrubs the slobber off the walls, doors, and cabinets. Frank and Sarah are so sweet that we put up with the drool :)
One of my favorties of Frank. my other is his doorbell. Frank was a heart stealer and I am so sorry for your loss.
Frank is divine and sweet, can't wait til my pup is this laid back.
The more I see it, the more I like it...and you found the best music!
2023, banks are failing, but Frank brought a big smile and a couple big laughs.. Thanks. 👍😁
Aww Frank is great!!! Only the owner of a basset hound would do this!! My Daisy is like a baby she gets cranky if you wake her up during her morning nap!

Thanks so much for sharing your adorable Bassets..we love our Basset Hound too 😊
What a sweetheart. We do love our dogs!
I miss my Juju (Juliet) basset so MUCH... She's been gone for 10 days now, after living happily for a whole 15 years. She was from January 2000. Hope we'll be with each other again soon, my Juju
My basset hound, Charlie acts just like Frank, same coloring too! I love your videos. It's good to know that there are other spoiled dogs out there.
They are such laid back squishy lumps gotta love Bassets!
I got lucky with my basset hound. So sweet! A little stubborn, maybe, but very very sweet!
what a spoiled baby!!! I love it!!!
my basset liked to "help" me make the bed, I miss that
I love Bassett hounds :)
Frank is certainly into comfort.
Merrill Milner 😁
What a darling dog. Love you Frank. ❤️
Wow--that looks very familiar when I'm trying to gather our sheets, too. We have one of the laziest Westies ever, and at 15 mos. she's still basically a pup. Very cute video!

at least he’s SUCH a big help 😂😂😂😂😂 this is why we love them
THATS PRETTY ACCURATE.. LOVE BASSETS
Bassets is Love ❤️❤️
He's like "Yo, I'm trying to sleep here"
This is so great!!! I laughed so hard, he acts just like my Basset chloe. When she doesn't want to move, you can't make her!!! LOL
What a lovely spoilt boy x
Awww that is such a shame x Maybe once you get over the grieving process, you could consider adopting a rescued dog. Oh he's not pampered not much !😄.
You have either the patience of Job or your a magician.
"Hey....I was sleeping there." or "Yeah the sheets are looking a big dingy, could you please take care of them....while I sleep on top of them. Thank ya much!"
Frank the Tank ~ ya gotta love him!
I love how every little while, he wags his tail once or twice, as if to say "no hard feelings, even though you're disturbing my nap!"
I come back to these videos a lot. I sure pray everyone is okay. 🙏❤️🙏
This is so sweet!! I love it!!
That Baby Really has , Well , A Really Really Ruff Ruff Life , 😁😁
Oh my! Your Frank and my Clyde should get together and do competitive napping! Bassets really are amazingly stubborn when it comes to their sleeping spots - or anything else. Frank is adorable.
mine was active until he hit around 7 years...now he takes a lot of naps...but that's ok too...he is a good dog.
Soooo cute!
My basset has this whole routine where she pretends she's ready to hop off the bed (I have to help her off because she's old) and just as I'm about to get her off she flops on her side... gotcha! No gettin' up!
such a nice dog and owner
Best video ever!!! Love the music too. Wonder where it’s from? Hope she and her hubby are still around and okay. Would love to see more videos. I always come back here❤️

Mine uses the same strategy of turning up side down ... And beside, he bends his neck all to the same size, drawing a "up side down U dog" that halts your brain for some seconds: The dog cuteness attack :-)!
Now that's how to make an occupied bed! I am proficient at this too!
Frank be like " okay hooman, do your thing, but can't you see I need my beauty rest.?
They don't all drool. I had one who drooled so much than our new one.
He is such a big help!
I love how he looks up like, "oh, is this inconvenient? Sucks to suck."
Oh, that is so incredibly sweet! :-D
I love your video. I can tell you love your dog. Your much more patient with him than I would be with mine though. She tried this on me a time or two. we don't want that dawg to get too uncomfortable
And don't interrupt me again unless it involves food! Love bassets!
my dog used to do this and would NOT move for anything. Miss her.
My Copper does the same thing...he is so spoiled....and when ever I have the bed freshly made he gets up and wallers all over the clean to get his sent on the bed...lol
so sweet!!!
yep! so dang cute!
I Love Frank! I have a Rufus!
Hahahahaha, so precious
I LOVE Frank and it's a shame you had to disturb his sleep!! Could you not have changed the bed after his nap?
Just kidding!!! I've got two gorgeous sisters Bassets and had Bassets for EVER!!! We adore them!!!
I have to laugh: I've heard of dogpiles, but this is a pile of dog! Hahaha! That's hilarious!
No tummy rub?! Okay, I'll just flip back over and go to sleep.
Haters gonna hate? We all know that Basset Hounds are the best breed ever.
Lol u wake him up and he's like "uh... Wat did I miss something then u flip him over lol!

You're really patient with that lazy buddy. :o))))))))))))
Mine gets moos at us or groans when we try to move him. :) Does Frank do that too?

Frank rules.
So cute
This video should be required in Hotels Housekeeping Training Course!
My husband said it's just like changing a bed in a nursing home!
once we had to move a rug in our house, and our basset was sleeping on it and would not move. So both of us picked up the rug w/ her still lying on it.
Frank looks like my RUFUS!
Just run an electric can opener downstairs. If hes like mine he'll run downstairs faster than light.
Yes, it is. The difference is that the nursing home patient can't move, and Frank the Tank WON'T move! LOL!
have a basset dachshund and he is very lazy but he is very active love him very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reminds me of my Rufus!! So adorable and lazy!!
this dog seriously doesn't want to move!
@fuzzwaldsmom I had a basset for 10 years and she rarely drooled, unless there was something she REALLY wanted, but no more than any other dog. They just have "loose lips" lol
Son bellos yo tengo uno me llenan de felicidad
Could tell me the name of the music and the singer?
How are your basset doing? Who is still with us? Love these precious videos and music!
bad news , dog is taking over.
That's a great idea! LOL!
This is such a cute video, its great to see an owner pamper her doggy x Some would just shove the poor doggy off the bed! This makes me think of my Rufus! I lost him in 2014! Sadly missed!
i have to do this with my poodle and staff lol
Odd - my Basset doesn't drool at all.
