The ufc used to be categorized as a sport. Around 2009 the UFC got with WWE fake wrestling for boosting people in the seats, and it worked. They then changed the categorization as a sport to an entertainment. This is the reason Mark Hunt lost his lawsuit. As an entertainment they can fix all the fights with no problem.

The Colby situation is unique and im not sure if we've ever seen anything like it. As we all know he was assaulted last year by jorge masvidal and it chipped his tooth. initially he was probably recovering and getting surgery for the tooth fix and pressing charges and staying away from jorge. He's said on podcasts that after that incident he wanted to stay out of the spotlight and interviews because he couldn't discuss an on going case. He hasn't had the longest career but there is no denying he is a good fighter, his fights against Kamaru were super exciting to watch. I think since he's ranked 2nd in the division he definitely deserves a title shot, and if he loses then we watch him fight other top welterweight contenders, its a win-win situation. He deserves it more then jorge who is ranked 11th, and more then belal who hasn't faught a top 3 guy yet.

So many great fighters had to go to other organizations because of Dana White When you start controlling matches then you just as well start controlling the outcome of the matches. It's a little bit more real than the WWE at this point
The ufc used to be categorized as a sport. Around 2009 the UFC got with WWE fake wrestling for boosting people in the seats, and it worked. They then changed the categorization as a sport to an entertainment. This is the reason Mark Hunt lost his lawsuit. As an entertainment they can fix all the fights with no problem.

I was initially just a boxing fan, but I started following UFC a few years ago and found it very refreshing. I was just sick of fights not being made and the politics of it. The UFC is definitely a lot better in this regard, but I have been learning that it's not perfect. I guess the only way it could ever change is when Dana leaves, which won't be any time soon. The Colby situation is unique and im not sure if we've ever seen anything like it. As we all know he was assaulted last year by jorge masvidal and it chipped his tooth. initially he was probably recovering and getting surgery for the tooth fix and pressing charges and staying away from jorge. He's said on podcasts that after that incident he wanted to stay out of the spotlight and interviews because he couldn't discuss an on going case. He hasn't had the longest career but there is no denying he is a good fighter, his fights against Kamaru were super exciting to watch. I think since he's ranked 2nd in the division he definitely deserves a title shot, and if he loses then we watch him fight other top welterweight contenders, its a win-win situation. He deserves it more then jorge who is ranked 11th, and more then belal who hasn't faught a top 3 guy yet.

Notice how all of these “Cursed” fighters are fighters that sell no PPVs? There comes a point in a UFC fighter’s career where entertainment becomes part of the job and fighters fail to realize this. UFC is a business that has to pay bills and it’s trying to grow constantly so obviously the entertaining fighters are gonna be promoted first.
To be "privileged" all you need to do is fight well, talk well and accept fights.

@@Ishbikes a little more to it… like him dropping exclusive news before Dana scheduled to release it and wanted it hush hush and a huge surprise. Ala UFC 200 big announcement of Brock Lesners return that they planned to announce later that night, but Ariel got the info and dropped it before they did, thus ruining the surprise. So that got him banned and got a bunch of UFC employees who knew about it in trouble and were questioned.
Having said that, Ariel made so many videos about being butt hurt by Dana so he would make sure to have content to make Dana look bad when he got his feelings hurt.
But Colby finally said something smart and gave great advice “Never piss off the boss!” If you ever want to work for a company or get a raise or certain privileges or special treatment, you better make sure there’s nothing out there with you talking crap on the Company or the Boss!
