Huang Qianqian is just one of the researchers in the field of microelectronics. There are many people like her working on high tech R&D. Applaud to all those people in China. There is nothing special about her except she is one of the prettiest researchers in China. The big problem with Intellectual Property protection -
which is a means of hoarding all the wealth from
human endeavors instead of sharing one's knowledge and
development for thousands of genius people in the world
who could further develop and improve on any technology
to benefit not just the elite - but all the people -
thus valuable technologies would advance at a very rapid pace.
The Western philosophy is to hold back technologies and exploit
the financial gain to the maximum - then release something better.
The exploitation of the consumer market is immoral - unfortunately,
      it is not illegal.
This is why creating and propagating disease is a multi-trillion
      enterprise.
People do not actually understand what the word CURE actually means.
--- It means ""To Preserve"" as in Cured Meat
Thus when big Pharma CORPORATIONS say they want to cure Cancer -
they actually mean to keep it going --
The common people have only low-level English language knowledge
      are easily deceived.

@@andrew_koala2974 I think the problem for China is that the U.S. and other countries cannot be trusted to share technologies so that concurrent development of products that can benefit mankind sooner and as a whole is difficult. Russia has the best rocket technology around, and the U.S. tried to buy the "core technology" of one of it's most popular liftoff rockets (don't remember the name right now) but obviously the U.S. is a friend when it wants something, but if you don't do everything they tell you to do, then they sanction you. So that was no good. But after a number years working with China on different projects and knowing Beijing can be trusted, Russia did sell China what they wouldn't sell the U.S. I agree in a perfect world, your scenario is the optimum situation, but in the world we live in now, the more you trust others without a history of a good working relationship, you are the kid always getting sand kicked in your face!

Hi Silicon started the cpu design in Silicon Valley with local talent.
The first project with dual core ARM cpu was not enough performance, Huawei didn’t use it but continued to buy qualcomm. The way Huawei did was to use qualcomm chips and asked them to teach them the functions and specs, then designed on the side. That is always the strategy of Huawei applied in the past .
Huawei designed CPU performance had been always the slowest one among apple, qualcomm, and needs to rely next gen process to boost the performance.
I doubt China has domestic ability to design without leveraging the western technology transfers after all the semiconductor was invented in the west.
China has no contribution in recent semi evolution.
The invention of quantum mechanic, then the solid state Physic, and the birth of the transistors and integrated ICs had no Chinese contribution at all.
CT shah was the only chínese working with Andrew grove to developed all these mos FET oxide issues.
ARM cpu designed by the Britains and uses in every smartphone cpu cores. The west sanction to ban the latest version of ARM CPU to be used by China because it can be used in the servers for the military uses.

When China was poor and relatively undeveloped, there was an excuse for wanting to emigrate abroad to study and work. This is no longer the case as China's science, technology and engineering are as advanced, if not more, than the West. Living standards are increasing and surpassing those in the West. As a result of racism and discrimination in the West, the prospects for advancement in the companies they work for are limited. I harbor the most respect for the Peoples Republic of China because in the short amount of time the Chinese Communist Party has governed its country it has brought about tremendous advancement in all aspects of life, including scientific disciplines, technology, medicine, and education, as well as improving the standard of living of the majority of its citizens at breaknecking speed. This is a tremendous accomplishment, especially since the capitalist West never achieved such life changing progress during its existence spanning the 1800's until the present. Capitalism's greatness stems largely from the theft of natural resources of those weaker nations it has subjugated and colonized. The main culprits of said pillage against humanity are the United States, Britain, France, and Belgium, with the U.S. inflicting the most damage upon the world.
Thus, I salute the Chinese for all their accomplishments, hard work, and desire to improve the lives of millions of less fortunate around the world through their Belt and Road initiative.
