Sweet DeeJay, my daughter is 35 and she still needs her Momma. That bond never is broken. It changes and actually gets stronger. Big hugs to you.

I fully agree with you. I am 81 years old my daughter who is the baby of the family ....two older brothers...she is 55 years old and calls me every night before she goes to bed and tells me all about her day, the good and bad. She always wants my advice about something. So my dear Deejay have no worries the best is yet to come as you watch her grow into an adult and even when she goes off into the big world she will always be with you and want Momma's advice. Hugs and prayers to you and your wonderful family

Hi DJ thank you so much for the encouraging words our life is never easy and God always puts us through these tough challenges but no matter what we still have to keep pushing through to get through that door before the devil closes it so I hope and pray that you and your kids never lose that special bond between you and your kids and tell your kids never to disrespect you or Danielle because you only get one set of parents in life and once you’re gone there is no more mom and dad and I know you have a great kids and they are going to do well so take care and may God bless you and keep you all safe and I’m so glad to see Kelsey is doing really well so take care from your friend here in Oswego New York from Denise-6-18-2024-✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️

A drivers license will not change that bond. You fostered a great relationship with your daughter, that will continue even with that freedom.

My late husband and I raised 2 daughters. With freedom comes growth. The relationship you have with her will change, and that's a good thing. You and Daniel have provided her with a strong foundation, and a driver's license is a baby step in her feelings of freedom. Stand on your faith, and God will help you through this. All of your children are blessed to have you and Daniel as parents. There are many blessings coming your way. ❤❤

Have you ever heard the expression, a son is a son until he meets his wife, a daughter is a daughter for the rest of your life. I have 3 daughters and that is the truest statement ever. Your daughter is a sweet girl and loves her Momma. Don’t worry, just enjoy her like you do. Hugs to both of you. 🤗🤗🥰🥰

You've given her the secret sauce. She you raised her to be the fledgling she is. She will fly back to your nest for all that love and reassurance that you have given her. You can see the bond through the lens. I felt the same way. I think I see her more now than when she was living with us. Best part now is that she brings her 2 little girls with her. I'm so blessed. You will be too.

D jay, I know the feeling, but it was my grand daughter. I helped raised her as a child, & when got to High school, It was me that kept her in sports, Basketball Volleyball, softball, & even 1 season of soccer. I was there with her 24/7. We were always together.
The thing that got me to where you are right now was when she Graduated High school, She joined the Marines, Left me for her country. She served 4 years in Cali, we live in Louisiana. I hurt so bad I cried daily.
What I found helped me so much, was prayer. Believe me the serenity prayer is not only for just alcoholics or addicts. I said the serenity prayer every time I thought of her so far away. I didn't want her to go into the military, but it helped her.
Just want to say to you that prayer help me out of some very trying days without her. Good luck & always know, You are not alone in this heartache. I lived thru it & if I can do it I know you can too.❤

You've done a good job at raising her. You will never lose her, she is always gonna need her mama. That will never change. We all grow up. You and God have done a great job with her. So all you have to do is love and be there for her.

My daughter is 40 and still calls me on her drive home from a long day teaching, just to unwind. I’m happy being an ear or a shoulder, because I know she chooses to call ME, rather than any of the countless friends she has. I love my only girl so very much!

Bless your heart. I only had a son, so what you’re experiencing I’m not familiar with. However, you & Daniel have given her the foundation she will build on.
    God bless you all.
    Sending hugs.

I’m 67 years young and still remember how my Mom cried when I moved out at 20. She said I was not ready to be on my own. I said Mom let me try while you’re still here in case I need you. She cried harder. Been on my own ever since. The relationship you have built with Emily will only grow stronger.😊😊

I promise it doesn’t go away. I have two daughters in their 20’s and one live far away from me. I was there for a work convention recently and my oldest called her baby sissy in tears when I left. I had no clue. They will always need their mommas. Your secret sauce is Communication but not suffocating communication. My youngest moved away and moved back and we go on our “night” drives just to talk. She fills me on her life.
    You got this Momma! ❤

My son and I were that close. He joined the service out of school and was sent to Okinawa for three years. I was devastated. Cried a lot. What got me through it was praying, new hobbies, and just staying busy. She will always need you. I read something one day.
    Our children are God's children.
They are simply loaned to us for a short while.
    Cherish those times.
You have done your job well my child raising your child.
There is much more for you to do.
I will pray for you. I was a single parent. At least you have your family with you.

My middle daughter and her oldest were and still are like that. Actually at one time they were like joined at the hip 🤣. She is a grand mother now and her daughter still sits on her lap when she gets the chance. ❤️❤️

No need to worry DJ. Our daughters do distance themselves for a short time. Then there is another change that comes with maturity and your bond will be stronger than ever. Trust that you and Daniel have raised her with love and care. If the weight of change grows too much for you to bare, remember, God has got this. 🙏❤🐨

My daughter is 29 and you are NOT alone. Although you may feel like you lose her at times or your relationship is strained at times (girls seem to have that affect more than boys), she will always come back to Mom. You seem to have built a really strong foundation for her.

O Deejay. I’m one of those daughters that am very close to my mom. I have always been. Softball horses life. I’m now 55 and cherish my relationship with her. It’s a special thing. She is such a strong resilient person I’m so grateful to have her to look up to. If only all kids had someone as strong and loving as you, this world would be a better place I’m sure of it . Thanku for being u and for doing what u do. 🐾❤️🐾
