  • Katie wants a new clock for her workshop, and while she likes the classic cuckoo clocks, they're a little old fashioned. For this element14 presents project, she's going to create her own electronic twist on the time-honored cuckoo clock, with digitally-animated robots instead of birds and beeps instead of chirps.

    A hexagon pattern on the face of the clock! timeless!

    Great project! One suggestion would be to add a red acrylic filter over the clock digits. It will add contrast and make the numbers stand out more.

    • @hifromkatie

      That's a great suggestion, will definitely be adding a filter to help with the contrast, thanks!

    Another great project! I would probably relocate the power jack into a cavity so that it could either sit on a desk or be hung on the wall and sit flat either way.

    • @hifromkatie
      @hifromkatie ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a brilliant suggestion, I put it on the bottom to make sure it say flat against the wall, but it hadn't crossed my mind to put in a recess, but that would have been perfect, as it sits nicely on a table due to the flat bottom

    This is a labor of love. I've marked it to hopefully try down the road when I get more adept with projects like this. Thanks for the vid. 🙏

    Auch! Looking for something in your workshop you know you have and coming up empty is such a pain familiar to all makers. Hopefully as you reorganise your shop, it will turn up.

      You could change to a 12 HR clock pretty easy, my old Bush clock radio from the 1980s uses 2 LEDs to represent AM and PM. Have thought about upgrading that a few times but never got around to it.

      There's a variety of different countries represented.
      I know in all my projects for element14 I use barrel sockets on the project and spec an AC to DC power supply to power it.
      With the intention that you should be able to find a power supply unit/brick with the correct plug for your country with the right output voltage
