I’m 27 now. Been listening to King Krule since like, 2012 or 13? Either way, this shit has been with me through a lot. It’s great to see this musical genius still doing his thing. Music that makes you feel stuff.

@@marianne22222 you know, sometimes I think back, and it seems like it went by fast. But then when I really sit back and think about it, it wasn’t too fast. A lot happened from then till now, good and bad. I think it’s all about perspective and how you choose to live your life that will dictate how your time seems to pass. I’m just enjoying the ride either way.
I'm so facsinated by this dude's sound. such an odd combo of psych/hip hop/jazz/lofi. Beautiful stuff
A fair amount of punk/ska spirit too.
He said in an interview that he takes inspirations from dub/reaggae (as basslines), punk/rockabilly (as vocals), funk/ska (as guitars), and jazztonalities.

Archy is truly a “once in a generation” type of artist. I’m 36 now and been on the KK wave for 10 years now and I really think he’s the younger generations Thom Yorke or something. Long live the King 👑
If Thom Yorke stayed true to his influences I would agree. But he created a whole genre on its own haha.

Remember reading an article on Archie in i-D magazine, 2011/2012, back when he was “Zoo Kid”. I would've been 16/17 and about the same age as him. It's great to see him evolve and grow as I've changed too. Of all the music I was listening to back then, apart from James Blake, he's the only one I still listen to. Takes me back but pushes me forward.
“flimsier” reminds me so much of a deathcrash / post-rock song. it’s devastating, it’s immersive, and when I hear it in studio I already know I will shed TEARS

deathcrash is slowcore. lots of great slowcore from the 90s and on. I thought it reminded me of a yo la tengo song (indie band inspired by slowcore)

I've come back here so many times just to listen to Empty Space Cadet, can't wait for it's release.
Such a curious story,
I was at this exact concert and I enjoyed it a lot, I remember seeing the dog on the screen (I thought it was so cute haha) and telling my fiends ‘this is so good. It’s jazzy, I love it’.
But then, I only got properly into Archy’s music after that. I remember finding it difficult at first, The Ooz.. but the live record totally made it and hit me well,
and now that I’ve watched this several times along with many more live performances, it feels very lucky but also strangely sad to have been there and haven’t felt what it must be like to listen to Dum Surfer, Rock Bottom, or any other of these brilliant, original and beautiful songs when you know them well.

It was funny because he played on this day at Primavera and the next day, right after I played with my hardcore band PESTER at Ferro Bar (Porto) he shows up with Earl Sweatshirt! Ahahah Cool guy!

Been surfing Archie's music since day one, and this kid has blown expectations.... His sound has no age, young, old, everyone can connect.. And as a musician myself, i know firsthand how hard it is to make a show like this work, and work flawlessly! At his age, it's phenomenal!

It's mad how good they're are and how much emotion his music contains. Seeing him with this band was one of the best musical experiences trully.
Been listening to him since like 2011 and I never knew how big he actually was. Got to see him at this performance and the crowd killed it. Such a loyal fanbase.
Flimsier and Tortoise achieved the most close sensation sound wise of being inside of a surreal painting, a landscape of emotions.

This is literally one of the best if not best live performance of last year’s primavera lineup. I wasn’t even a fan of king krule that much before this show, I listened to them a few times but it didn’t click to me as it did when seeing them live while completely crapfaced. I remember this show like it was yesterday, one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
After that night I was instantly hooked on Archie’s music. It’s some of the most creative music out there that I’ve listened to, at least in a while, while also being quite accessible.

I keep rewinding UNDERCLASS .. "Im under your control". "I had a feeling I was coming back" so many feelings surface listening to King Krule. sometimes I feel his music connects me to my heart and where it desires to be and go.
