The 112 was my first nice knife that I bought back in the 80's. It still looks great today.

Appropriate that the first-of-its-kind Navy knife went down to Davy Jones' Locker.

I have mine with me now. I bought it a few years ago after seeing it sit too long in the cabinet at a local hardware store. My grandad had one so I recognised it. I looked at it so many times but I already have too many knives (is that actually possible?) but one day I decided to buy it as it was just after pay day. Glad I did as it has become a firm favourite in my job as a plumber. These wonderful knives are carried by people like myself all over the world, especially at work as they are strong but in the UK we can't EDC such a thing. For work is fine though and that's where mine goes every day.

Legend. I purchased my first Buck 112 in 1978 at a USMC PX on Camp Pendleton. It resides in a footlocker. I have a newer variant that is much easier to sharpen. Thank you for producing such excellent knives. Also own ........ a few other Buck Knives. I really like my 105 Pathfinder for hunting.

I have 5 Buck knives in all and I have both the 110 & 112. The 112 is by far my favorite. It was given to me as a gift in 1997 and is my first good folding knife I own. I cherish it so much that it remains virtually unused and like new. I really need to get a second one that I can use so I can swap out the 279 Folding Alpha Hunter that I use as my go to knife. That BTW is a model I wish Buck would bring back. I regret not buying a second one while they were in production. I currently have the one with rubber panels but I really admired the wooden version too.

When I lightly squeeze my 112, the blade travels inward and the edge just behind the tip contacts the spacer in between the liners. If this is normal, I cannot help but question the design of the entire line. If it's not, I must add that I've seen many of the same model with exactly the same condition.

Shame that Buck knives have deteriorated in quality so bad they're not worth having anymore, not when you can get many other knives for less with better quality. I ordered 4 (one custom) and only 1 of the 4 was worth keeping. Straight out of the box I had to return the others for repairs.

Nah. I have an old 112 I’ve been polishing up and playing around with lately. The handle looked too big for the blade already.
