They used to sell a plane called a Champ. I dig that plane it's so easy to learn on and it flys so slow. Stick with e-flight or planes that have Safe Mode. Safe mode makes it literally 10x easier to learn. I think they have a Cub out that replaces the Champ. It's got safe mode and you can put floats on it. It's 4 channel no flaps. I think another super easy plane to fly is the Night Vapor! BUT there can't be a whisper of wind. It has to be dead calm and that's why the Night Vapor. At night there's many times zero wind and you can fly that on a small area.
Im am not finding much info on this, but....how similar is the Reflex stabilization to SAFE? Does it also add in elevator and rudder on turns, or only self level when you let off sticks?
It is almost exactly the same, but SAFE and AS3X are directly handled inside the Receiver, while Reflex, is an EXTERNAL stabilizer and flight controller.

Just a small suggestion, maybe go a little slower when showing setting up the controls. I had to continuously rewind to make sure I set it up correctly. I am 100% a beginner as well. Thank you for the video it was extremely informative
Hi.. would you please help me? I did everything like you in my plane in the assembly. But when I turn my transmitter off. The throttle turns on. Why is that? Did I do something wrong? Thanks for your time
There's a procedure to calibrate THROTTLE. You need to be super careful, so you don't get cut, or damage something... 1) Plane off, Transmitter off, PROP OFF - if you're not sure why, YOU NEED TO DO IT 2) Transmitter ON, THROTTLE FULL (100%, all the way up) 3) Have someone hold the plane by the tail boom, so the full throttle would not cause them to let go, and it'd be no biggie to just try again....JUST IN CASE, this part will prove to NOT be necessary once you understand how this works, and you can do it all by yourself. 4) Now, power on the plane....yeah, you have to plug in the battery...get it safe AS SOON AS POSSIBLE 5) Listen to the WEIRD BEEPS that you're NOT used to hearing...this is ENTERING PROGRAMMING MODE 6) When these beeps stop for a second, pull the throttle stick DOWN ALL THE WAY (0%) 7) You'll now hear the plane initiate as usual, and do the "dance" of the surfaces, and hopefully your THROTTLE will be calibrated. 8) Test the throttle. If fixed, let your helper go, and get the prop pack on...you're ready to fly. If this procedure DOESN'T work, read the manual, and look for the ESC PROGRAMMING GUIDE, and it will tell you the stages, in case you're not hitting the right step "Throttle Calibration" which is almost always any time in the "Menu". Get it done, and get back if you still can't figure it out.

Hey Brian I just bought this plane - THANKS for the vid - Man my brain is melting trying to figure out batteries and chargers. If I want a few extra batteries and a decent charger - what would you get? Thanks for taking the time :)
This is a RTF transmitter (ready to fly) - this one happens to be FlySky, but I know close to nothing about it beyond that. There's a bunch of "cheap" transmitters that end up in RTF packages, and this one is FINE, but I wouldn't go singing it's praises or bashing it - it's fine.
Brian - I’ve noticed in most of your in the house videos, you store all your batteries in the corner of your kitchen counter. You normally have a multi plug adapter plugged in with several plugs plugged into it. I’m not sure if you realize this but that is a HUGE disaster waiting to happen. If for whatever reason, one of those batteries catches fire, you’re going to lose your home and more! Be safe, store your batteries in a fire safe box and in a safe location. I would hate to see you post a video of your burnt down house.
Mine crashed 6 seconds into it's maiden flight and is totaled, sigh. (was going straight then it banked hard right and down outta no where about 4-6' up.)
@@BrianPhillipsRC not yet, waiting on the video back from my buddy that was recording. It was going pretty straight before the bank/dive, I was waiting to get some altitude before I tried any maneuvers so I could clean up trims. Think I'll wait for the pnp kits to be back in stock now, cheaper than just buying the parts that broke.
@@BrianPhillipsRC reviewing the video, I can hear the power to the motor cut out for a half second causing the nose to dip down. So then when I tried to counter the dip the engine went back to the power it was at and then that's when it banked to the right and down. I can send you a short video link if you're curious or have time to offer a more educated perspective.
Everyone is making fun of the channel for "losing elevator" when he took off full flap and then ballooned and killed throttle and removed flap.....def a stall and I know for a fact this model is hard to make it bite
The elevator had stripped gears and got stuck full up. That's why it stalled and he crashed. He knew it was faulty and took off anyways, that's what people have a problem with. The plane was NOT airworthy and he knew the servo was faulty.
i saw another person maiden this and he had elevator servo failure, new , plane went up, then down, broke engine cowl , broke the nose off, damaged wing, These are made to weak, a trainer should be tough, not break every time .
I've seen a lot of people crash a lot of planes on maiden, but a lot of times, it's because they didn't even see if the plane was gonna work, or was setup right. I've done it too...
Some people need help, and others don't. We have no idea what each person needs, and there will always be stuff we talk about that some don't care about. What would you suggest we do to limit what we share?

Totally hooked and really torn between the Carbon Cub S2 & The 1.3 PA-18 - both are in the shopping cart! Any insights that would be a tie-breaker between these two for a first plane? Thanks for these amazing videos!!
With the PNP version which Spektrum receiver would you recommend that would be a budget basic receiver since it comes with Reflex
AR620, definitely.

Cant connect rear and front part of a fusselage on mine, holes are 2mm off.
That's crazy bad! I don't know how they got so far off. Might need to hit up FMS and see about a replacement.
Real sorry you had this issue!
@@BrianPhillipsRC its off for same amount on upper and lower hole on the fuselage and that is quite lot( more than half the size of that metal cilinder in which screw goes). I did contact them and am waiting for response. To me it looks like its not just mine plane. Question is which part is wrong, front or rear.
I still have a big problem with connecting the wires together.
BTW did you fix the su 27? After that crash?
Hi Brian, i live in New Zealand from witch place can i order plane ? , rtf one like jou unbox ,,thanks Evert
It looks like bprc.me/FairRC has them in stock and should ship to you!
TurbinesRC also ships worldwide, but I don't see it in stock. You can double check here... bprc.me/TurbinesRC
Hope that helps!
Can you fly this on 4s? I have a bunch of 4s 2200 mah and need a plane for them lol
I bet you can, since we've done it on other FMS offerings, but I didn't think it needed tons more power... if you catch it on fire, please do reply back, so we can warn others communally, if possible. Thanks in advance!!!
Hey Brian I just bought this plane - THANKS for the vid - Man my brain is melting trying to figure out batteries and chargers. If I want a few extra batteries and a decent charger - what would you get? Thanks for taking the time :)
How much did you psy for everything you got
What is the name of the transmitter
This is a RTF transmitter (ready to fly) - this one happens to be FlySky, but I know close to nothing about it beyond that. There's a bunch of "cheap" transmitters that end up in RTF packages, and this one is FINE, but I wouldn't go singing it's praises or bashing it - it's fine.
Order it but had to on Amazon fms was out of stock

Hello Brian, what is the name of this tool?
I bought one too but it has TONS of damage and missing pieces What do i do?
Did you buy it direct from FMS? If so, definitely reach out to them!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I did but the shipping took 5 months and the wiring doesnt work
Brian - I’ve noticed in most of your in the house videos, you store all your batteries in the corner of your kitchen counter.
I would hate to see you post a video of your burnt down house.
can I bind this craft with a DXS tranmitter???
Yes you just need a new receiver
@Jagers_propeller Thanks for info. I now have them bound.
I drilled out a Turkey injector and screwed that air valve in and made a pump that fits in your flight box.
Gosh I was putting mine together and the reflex wasn't even mounted
Mine crashed 6 seconds into it's maiden flight and is totaled, sigh. (was going straight then it banked hard right and down outta no where about 4-6' up.)
Sounds like the ailerons were reversed. Did you figure out the root cause of the crash?!?!
I can’t align the holes in the plane to put in the screws and that was supposed to be the easy part
If you get the right angle, you can start them. It can be HARD...and if it was hard on your plane, I'm very sorry to hear it.
Hello, Brian, can you help me get this plane? It's been sold out and I really need this plane to be my first plane.
You forgot the carbon fiber rod for the horizontal stabilizer.
We put it in at 33:15...

Why do you have surgical stuff Bri...hmmm, lol..
To perform surgery...on planes ;)
I just order one. Please and thankyou

Your wiring moving science is too difficult for my tiny brain to comprehend?
Fly it.....make sure you don't kill the throttle as soon as you takeoff
As long as his elevator servo gears aren't stripped I'm sure he will be fine.
@@Itsa_Mea right 👍🏻
i saw another person maiden this and he had elevator servo failure, new , plane went up, then down, broke engine cowl , broke the nose off, damaged wing, These are made to weak, a trainer should be tough, not break every time .
I've seen a lot of people crash a lot of planes on maiden, but a lot of times, it's because they didn't even see if the plane was gonna work, or was setup right. I've done it too...

Dude you do have a lot of information but omg!! Soooo long.. also alot of useless info..
Some people need help, and others don't. We have no idea what each person needs, and there will always be stuff we talk about that some don't care about. What would you suggest we do to limit what we share?
