Love the daily uploads Brendan, keep them coming. Also, solid delivery of content and really nice presentation. Also agree on protein recommendations, I personally go quite a bit higher than the ''optimal'' recommendation of 1.8g/kg, which I find a bit low since I really enjoy eating a ton of protein. Cheers !

Oh, and I really like the last tip - never heard that one before and totally makes sense - I'll be definitely incorporating that one as you're 100% right, it feels so good after a 'cheat meal/day' and naturally stress will be reduced. Nice one!

Or 2 slow cutting for 3mnths straight and loosing around 7-8kgs?

Thing is, I have damaged wrists and cannot lift much weights, just do light bands so I don't know how the bulking will work out.
I have stubborn fat on chest, tummy, hips, weigh 48.35 kg at 166cm height, 14% body fat.

If i walk 3 times for 30 minutes thats 3k steps every 30 minute walk which is 100 calories and a incline liss session would burn about 260 calories. Could i do this everyday and still keep strength

  • @ItsxMagiicGaming

Love it, I definitely cut aggressively at first I started in a 1400 calorie deficit so lost weight pretty quickly but now Im down to around 1 lbs a week slowing the cut down as Ive gotten leaner. Calories are now around 2800 when I started them at 3000.
What do you think the optimal bodyfat percentage is for performance and muscle building? I have always thought the heavier you can get the stronger and more muscle you will be able to put on but I have realized it isnt always true. I see a lot of the top powerlifters are actually pretty lean. For me I tried pushing a higher bodyfat but I could just tell my body was working harder to maintain that. I am thinking i want to get around 12-15% and go into maintenance from there to try to grow. Maybe a video on this topic would be interesting to see what your thoughts are.

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

It’s really dependent on genetics and your body fat set point. For most males optimal gaining state is around 10-15% body fat however it can change so much from lifter to lifer! I’ve seen guys who need to be at 20 after years of being extremely overweight and I’ve also seen the assholes who can stay at like 10% year around!

    #4 walk 30-40 min a day everyday
#5 get 8-9 hours of sleep per day
    #6 stay hydrated
#7 make sure you hit all micronutrient daily values to keep body function and hornones in check

The macros i like for maintance and even building is
      33% protein
      33% fat
      33% carbs
Yes i know 33 x3 is 99 but you will never be at 33 on all three anyway the goal is to keep it as close to this as possible. The body seens to really love this balance

People really mess up the refeed/cheat. It isn't supposed to be a free for all, gorge yourself on pizza and ice cream. It's really about getting your gylocogen levels back up and telling your body it is not actually starving so doesn't need to use muscle as fuel.

  • @ipkiss1162

    • @BrendanTietz

You are correct sir however I was trying to maintain strength which is very hard at these body fat levels. I successfully did! Was able to compete at 198s and increased my wilks. If goal was just body comp I would have gone a little faster but even then gotta be careful with muscle loss.
