Something i appreciate about this game is the lack of "rounded" roof colliders like in Overwatch, where you just slide off. Lets you get a lot of weird angles, but i imagine it's a nightmare to balance
Yep, however its too early for players to figure out the best spots, also to early for them to figure out the best anything. Part of the reason the game seems so fun to me. I hope the dev team can keep the balancing fresh with new aditions and/or patch notes so the game doesnt develop hard metas
The destruction environment seems like to be a 50/50 among the beta testers. At first I didn't noticed too much of a difference (the surveys keep asking if we noticed something), but with time I started to noticed.. for example that city map this dude was playing at the beginning, the first point were you unlock the payload and etc.. that point has a lot of cover spots, so the defensive team has a huge advantage. However, the longer the teams keep fighting at that "corridor", the environments gets more and more destroyed, swinging the advantage to the offense. Overwatch can't replicate this stuff, you either force your way to the point or just die trying, Rivals offers new pathways so to speak. And weird collisions are a thing, especially if you play with Spiderman and Panther, but if they have no place to stand or craw, really doesn't make that much of a difference if they are sliding in a weird way or if the physiques breaks (that's what made Doomfist so fun, but it's a bug, not a feature)
Now imagine a 1v8 mode where you have to prevent Thanos from getting the infinity gauntlet back. Duper buffed Thanos against 8 potential avengers. Then after the event, they add Thanos in a more normal playable state for regular modes
I think that for overwatch content creators, literally anything will be better than overwatch for them. Imagine how DRAINING it must be to play the same game for so many years in a row, constantly seeing it degrade in quality. For people like me, I just play comp and qp, if I’m not having fun I stop playing. If I have fun, I keep playing. But having to play for a LIVING? Then yeah I think anything would be better than it.

Recency bias. New shiny object syndrome. I'm super hyped for the game but objectively not offering anything overwatch hasn't for a long time. Imagine if OW dropped like 15-20 new heroes, and ton of new maps. Except now instead of heroes we don't know, they can pair it with iconic characters we already know and love like spiderman, hulk, etc.

While it does have Overwatch element to it, I find this game fun to play compare to Overwatch now. There were games where I had 1 tank 3 dps 2 supports but games were still winnable. All roles feel they have impacts of their own. Whereas in Overwatch rn, everything is tied to your kaiju tank. When both teams runs 2-2-2 which is most of my games, games feels great. Even if you lose a tank, at least the other tank can still hold space. With how the environment functions and map layout, there are a lot of off-angle routes to take and engage.
People find this game fun because its all new. people found even ow2 beta very fun because it was different enough even though it was 5v5 and all the things people hate nowadays. When metas develop and everyone and their mother knows optimal play, this game will also get frustrating and people will start complaining. It already has all the seeds layed out for it to grow into a prickly plant. but people ignore it or are too busy to notice while everything feels fresh. Hell, there's already people that complain because they are taking the game way too seriously in a closed beta. The same thing happened with overwatch. Overwatch's biggest issue is that its 8 years old and in those 8 years the game didnt change that much except a few times and whenever there were lots of changes that made the game feel fresh, it was fun for the majority.
Been playing Overwatch since Beta and you've summed up my thoughts on the current state of OW pretty well. The game is indeed directly tied to the performance of your tank, at least in everything i've played up 'til Plat 1. I hope they see sense and bring back the 6vs6 OR figure out a way to make the match not about two damn tanks in the game.
I have been playing Overwatch since Beta and I've played this all day today. It's very similar to Overwatch, but different enough for it to feel new. The animation and sound design team is insane. When venom is on a wall, and you look where to land, his little look makes a growling sound. This game is so good.

And that poor optimization really hurts the fun factor. Other people move at like 10 fps even when my fps is above 100 making it hard to aim. I also feel like so many Arial heroes could present problems. Some heroes just can't touch them at all... so they will probably be highly situational and not viable in most situations.

It's a NetEase game so I'm not expecting enormous success and good balance, but it already looks very fun and creative. OW2 doesn't really give you much to look forward to these days, so this is a nice change of pace.

This is one of those games that seem underwhelming until you play it. i really wanted a overwatch competitor so i was optimistically hyped for the game(i also am a huge fan of the IP so that helps a ton. and no not just the movies lol.). The issue was it looked cheap and non polished. at least in the closed alpha. There is a lot of visual clutter. But having playing it for a few hours its really just a fun game and the game looks better when playing it. I think this will make people appreciate overwatch more but at the same time thats a good thing, I think having an alternative game in the genre is just a net positive.
I mean, once you know what the characters do It's a lot easier to understand what's going on,...like try having someone who doesnt play overwatch look at a overwatch video, it looks like absolute chaos to them as well not pointing it at you, but the argument that it's a visual mess is so weak (so many people seem to have this argument) because thats the case for any game in this genre/any game where you dont know what the characters do

Not many agree, but I think he is busted. A Reaper ultimate on a 8 seconds cooldown that don't even take ammo in consideration, lol c'mon now, so brain dead, you can easily confirm kills with it. The dodge give Star-Lord invincible shields, he can fly everywhere, auto-aim ultimate, etc.. he is not as broken as Punisher and Hela, but he is very close

I think that's mostly cause there's no character that can heal except the supports, with OW you have some dps and tanks that can heal themselves so if your healers are lacking or there's no healer (open queue) you have characters that can at least self heal(the passive healing is also a factor)
This game looks fun, but one cool thing I think they can add is unique hero ability combos Not just a stun into a damage ability, something like they show off in the Avengers movies where two heroes team up for an awesome action shot to wipe out a dozen aliens or something. I know its a lot of work behind the scenes, but it would make the gameplay super unique
Overwatch been out for a while now and I get super bored playibg it, same characters... this game is not even out yet and it runs very good. And hello we have Mavrel characters which has never happen like this before. So yeah we like it better than over watch. Cant imagine the game with a couple of updates... cant wait ❤
All games are fun when you are just goofing around, playing casually. It's the competitive side that makes these, or any game really, start to become bad. People get tilted, devs need to balance and all that crap. Also playing every Fing day doesn't help
I played a good 40 hours of this in the betas. Fun but it's going to be just as if not more frustrating than OW ever is. You will have a much harder time carrying when your teammates suck than OW (and that's saying something cause it's hard to carry in OW when your team sucks, but this game is even more team dependent.)
I mean this game has its unique properties but it doesn't have the skill required elements. Like in OW, when you have a really good aim, you can have trick shots, table-turning moments, or if you can't aim, there are heroes with their own impact
Yeah it seems a mor3 arcade version very much influences by the third person view choice. Yet for casual gamers I like it very much. Every hero feels more powerful then overwatch counterparts, so if it's balanced then it will feel good and yet more impact to the heroes which I like. Stand to reason to just wait for full release to give an honest opinion
@@MrDragonorp agree. This is kinda personal opinion, but whenever I play 3rd, I gravitate towards exploring the world, submerge myself in there and get to know the stories. My taste in 3rd is more about slow pace games.
Do you think so? Tbh, i don't see that much difference to what OW has or it's even less. I mean if I'm on a Nighttime map playing Ashe/widow and the enemy Ram pop's ulti, I'm basically blind firing there back line.. Or it's just the cleaner UI here, who knows.
@ebhaenger8246 I think it's the third person perspective in OW the first person view limited the clutter to what's in front of you. This you see what's going on all around your character.

For example, I have seen so many comments complaining about the camera space covered by that the character in third person but in reality, is basically the same or even less space that weapon models cover in first person view, is just different from what OW players are accustomed.
It's confusing how people are like I have no clue what I'm doing when it's literally a variant of overwatch so you do know just not the specifics of ability combos but the basics require reading skills so if you lack that then I guess give up hope
It's probably just Fortnite, CS and Valorant players who don't like this genre of FPS. I doubt you'll find almost any OW enthusiast who isn't excited for this.

Some of the dialogue feels very place-holdery but it is at least 6mo away from release, they think 2025. I'm actually surprised how good some of the dialogue is (Dr Strange has great dialogue for example) considering the game is in beta.
I think this game is more like paladins than overwatch, just way better graphics and gameplay. But all the voicelines are much more like paladins, and it has that slight goofy feel too it like paladins, that overwatch doesn't really have. Overwatch feels like the uniform type of game for this genre. The only things I feel are like overwatch, is obviously the game type, but that's basically the same as paladins, and some of the abilities, which you can tell are inspired from overwatch.
Weird, I've got like 5k hours in overwatch and hardly ever bothered to play cree or widow. Always preferred tracer and soldier, and tbh literally any other heroes.
What amazes me is that this, despite being rather good, is a Netease game and it doesn't been ripped apart in the comment like the usual. Is Netease good now?
I have to admit i think this game would be amazing. and the reason people think it has too much screen clutter is because they haven't played it as much i mean overwatch also has a lot of things going on, on the screen but we understand it so i think once we play this it'll be less disorientating
That’s the fun of it atm no one is trying too hard we are experimenting the game for fun. The chaotic nature is great. Think if you were to start playing Overwatch for the first time. You would be overstimulated too

Im usually not the type to judge a game before I even play it but I geniunely don't see the hype. The gameplay, the graphics, the voicelines. It honestly looks and feels like a mobile game.
Not every game has to be top quality bc not everyone has the same budget as blizzard yet they seem to be more devoted to the player base and updating the game more frequently at the moment. there actually are now in the beta😂 they patch some of the roof that you used to be able to stand on but yeah I hate sliding of roofs and buildings

Not many agree, but I think he is busted. A Reaper ultimate on a 8 seconds cooldown that don't even take ammo in consideration, lol c'mon now, so brain dead, you can easily confirm kills with it. The dodge give Star-Lord invincible shields, he can fly everywhere, auto-aim ultimate, etc.. he is not as broken as Punisher and Hela, but he is very close
We need more OW streamers to play this game. It deserves the hype it gets.

All characters being broken in their own way is pure fun.
One thing I noticed is it's much more healer dependent, a team without 2 healers will crumble.
I think that's mostly cause there's no character that can heal except the supports, with OW you have some dps and tanks that can heal themselves so if your healers are lacking or there's no healer (open queue) you have characters that can at least self heal(the passive healing is also a factor)

This game looks fun, but one cool thing I think they can add is unique hero ability combos
Not just a stun into a damage ability, something like they show off in the Avengers movies where two heroes team up for an awesome action shot to wipe out a dozen aliens or something.
I know its a lot of work behind the scenes, but it would make the gameplay super unique

Overwatch been out for a while now and I get super bored playibg it, same characters... this game is not even out yet and it runs very good. And hello we have Mavrel characters which has never happen like this before. So yeah we like it better than over watch. Cant imagine the game with a couple of updates... cant wait ❤

All games are fun when you are just goofing around, playing casually. It's the competitive side that makes these, or any game really, start to become bad. People get tilted, devs need to balance and all that crap. Also playing every Fing day doesn't help

I played a good 40 hours of this in the betas.
Fun but it's going to be just as if not more frustrating than OW ever is. You will have a much harder time carrying when your teammates suck than OW (and that's saying something cause it's hard to carry in OW when your team sucks, but this game is even more team dependent.)

I mean this game has its unique properties but it doesn't have the skill required elements. Like in OW, when you have a really good aim, you can have trick shots, table-turning moments, or if you can't aim, there are heroes with their own impact
Yeah it seems a mor3 arcade version very much influences by the third person view choice.
Yet for casual gamers I like it very much.
Every hero feels more powerful then overwatch counterparts, so if it's balanced then it will feel good and yet more impact to the heroes which I like.
Stand to reason to just wait for full release to give an honest opinion
@@MrDragonorp agree. This is kinda personal opinion, but whenever I play 3rd, I gravitate towards exploring the world, submerge myself in there and get to know the stories. My taste in 3rd is more about slow pace games.

@ebhaenger8246 I think it's the third person perspective in OW the first person view limited the clutter to what's in front of you. This you see what's going on all around your character.

For example, I have seen so many comments complaining about the camera space covered by that the character in third person but in reality, is basically the same or even less space that weapon models cover in first person view, is just different from what OW players are accustomed.

It's confusing how people are like I have no clue what I'm doing when it's literally a variant of overwatch so you do know just not the specifics of ability combos but the basics require reading skills so if you lack that then I guess give up hope

You can turn down the dialogue yourself in settings
Some of the dialogue feels very place-holdery but it is at least 6mo away from release, they think 2025. I'm actually surprised how good some of the dialogue is (Dr Strange has great dialogue for example) considering the game is in beta.
I think this game is more like paladins than overwatch, just way better graphics and gameplay. But all the voicelines are much more like paladins, and it has that slight goofy feel too it like paladins, that overwatch doesn't really have. Overwatch feels like the uniform type of game for this genre. The only things I feel are like overwatch, is obviously the game type, but that's basically the same as paladins, and some of the abilities, which you can tell are inspired from overwatch.

Weird, I've got like 5k hours in overwatch and hardly ever bothered to play cree or widow. Always preferred tracer and soldier, and tbh literally any other heroes.

it looks good though it looks basically like over watch just change the ui a bit slap marvel characters over heros mix some make it 3rd person and it has some val aspects but good game as far as i can tell if your into marvel and think overwatch isnt cutting it.
because just looking at starlord hes a mix of tracer and soldier bits of phara and reaper but thats just nit picking so that doesnt matter like the ult is a bit eh since its just soliders ult with tracers guns.
then i got to the bit where he switches and thats just mauga and bastion and iron man is just phara i believe from one of the arts

Im usually not the type to judge a game before I even play it but I geniunely don't see the hype. The gameplay, the graphics, the voicelines. It honestly looks and feels like a mobile game.

Not every game has to be top quality bc not everyone has the same budget as blizzard yet they seem to be more devoted to the player base and updating the game more frequently at the moment. That’s more than what blizzard is doing releasing a character every 2 seasons… It’s a mobile game company and this is like they’re first or one of their few attempts at making an online game for console and pc.
