The James Bond loco ! we used to write that on the dirt on the side of 007. I am the man up front on 034 , and I will retire in Jan 2022. Drove the A class 1981- 1995 in service 039 the last . Great model by IRM and was glad to be part of it.

If only every manufacturer built models to this quality and price
Absolutely incredible model. The level of detail & performance has to be seen to be believed. This is the gold standard that other manufacturers need to step up to. It shows what can be produced if the will is there. All this for less that £170 is just amazing value. Other manufacturers please take note.

It really is but in old enough to remember the CIE (AND EVEN THE OLDER "SNAIL" LOGO), so I'll be buying the one with the CIE logo 🙂

I have also purchesed this Loco 007, and I have been blown away withthe detail and the ease of how you can fit the DCC chip to it, I hope the other manufatures to sit up and pay attention to this.? I will be looking out for more from them in the futre .
Jenny a superb review as always and what a great locomotive I love the ease of the decoder access something other manufacturers should consider.
Glad you are of the same opinion about these as I am with my limited edition of the first member of the class A1 in original silver, I’m seriously considering getting the sound decoder despite being the wrong one for the early models, just so I can see and appreciate all of the lighting functions without having to wait for the correct sound chip to be available.
A great model from one of the best model makers in the world!! Absolutely lovely locomotive with exceptional sounds are available.
That booklet is cool as hell to get with a model train Add a bookshelf as part of your model world!!! THAT TRAIN IS VERY IMPRESIVE!!!!

What a lovely locomotive - for a diesel!! This locomotive is a lovely piece of kit for someone who is modelling an Irish railway.
What a review! I ordered the 027 A class this morning from the website and it's our of stock now!! I wanted that model because I remember travelling on that modern as a child. This is the most expensive loco I've ever bought, now I just need carriages 🙂

Great video and a super model well done Irish Railways.
Irish locos have moved along way from the days of Jouef european locos painted in CIE colours and repainted lima 33's. I still have a 1978 lima 4f Lima steam loco. I think Murphy Models originally used Lima and then Bachmann

I have slight remorse for the fact that these engines were retired from service the year I was born.
I have only seen very few on plinths in carparks in Waterford and Kerry.

Value for money indeed and good design costs no more to manufacture than bad design. I assume body removal is simply to undo the four screws revealed after roof removal. If so, a far better idea than the usual turn it all upside down, which for sure would break that horn off. Got to hope the roof panel doesn't warp with age, which may be a factor other manufacturers haven't previously done that.
Regarding the running quantities, with the recent release of the RofS Heljan 18000 GT loco only being capable of 3rd radius curves, how we'll did the Class A negotiate 2nd or even 1st radii curves ?
I hope other manufactures get to see this video. This is a serious value for money Locomotive. I would have given it a full 50 out 50 had they fitted a train crew. Martin. (Thailand)
