Loquats are wonderful! They grow almost everywhere in So Cal. The problem with them is they bruise very easily and go bad really quickly after they are picked, so they cannot be sold at markets. But you can pick them and eat them as you take walks. So so good!
Wow, did not know this!! This explains why we’ve never once seen them sold anywhere in Korea (in our experience). The owner just has these picked from the tree in the garden and gave them to us 🧡
The big seeds are great for a 'spot' of unlady-like seed spitting distance competition. Not an Olympic sport yet...but I have hopes! Seriously, I am from California. In most Mexican American families we have a loquat tree in the back yard. I hope you enjoyed them as well as your lovely time in Jeju! Thanks for all your trips-I'm there with you in spirit ;)
I'm Korean. My wife and our kids, we are planning to go JeJu next year. Visiting families in Korea. Korea is so beautiful and amazing views. People are so friendly. Oh... foods there so amazingly good.

I love love love Loquats. It is a very juicy, meaty sweet fruit. They are a seasonal fruit from May to June/ July. In Portugal there are Loquats trees everywhere.

My parents home in South Africa had a loquat tree in the garden when I was a child. We used to eat the fruit, but they were a bit smaller than those in this video.

After 2.5 years, I finally took a trip. I had a lovely time until I caught the most awfulest of colds. It was so nice being away from the city and breathing fresh air. I did not want to travel during these trying times but my husband made a few international trips while I stayed home. But I think I caught the travel bug again and just booked a trip for sept. I am so happy we are all going back to normal lives. I hope one day to visit your beautiful country and Jeju Island. 💕
Ahhh, one day I will travel to South Korea and Jeju Island! Thanks so much for sharing. I used to travel quite a bit when I was younger, because my mum's career was in the travel industry. This pandemic has really done a number on me, BUT one day I will be the travel Queen I know I am, and I will see this part of the world. Take care!
If you like Jeju, it is worthwhile watching the Netflix series Our Blues. It was a South Korean ratings juggernaut, finishing first both in Seoul and nationally for every single episode. A slice of life drama with sincerity and heart with an all star Korean cast. It was heartbreaking and heart touching and I dare you to watch the last 10 minutes of episode 17 and not cry your eyes out. I dare you.

The previous time I went Jeju island was in March 2010 . It was cold in March . Really enjoyed myself in Jeju and I remembered I bought quite a lot of small squarish chocolates - Jeju 🍊 favour , cactus flavour and others kind of favours as well . Hope I have a chance to go there again . I miss Seoul as well , the Starbucks cafe sell a lot of nice pastries and yes I missed Paris baguette cafe also .

Just prior to the covid lockdown in dec 2019, I was in Jeju. Sanbangsan temple looks like the same temple we saw from the YONGMEORI coast which is a short distance from the bottom of the temple. Yongmeori is an incredibly stunning and gorgeous coastline that is carved out by the winds and sea waters. I highly recommend that you visit Yongmeori if you have not been there before.

I’m from the the Dominican Republic and where I’m from there’s loquat trees everywhere, my family would make juice and jam out of it.

What a great getaway at Jeju Island. We use to have that Loquat tree when we were growing up. We had no idea, what it was called either, only that it was sweet and good. 😁 and I swear that kitty at 14:29 mark was laughing. 😆🤪

those are nice succulents, not hard to grow in your balcony if you have enough sun. Just need to get inside during winter time when is low temperature

In Portugal we call those fruits "nêsperas" there's a big three in front of my bf's house that he planted after eating one when he was younger! They're delicious and very common here in spring 💕

Maaaan that fruit you ate is so common in Algeria (my country) I was surprised you hadn't had it before! it's called zaaroor and it's a type of berry, I believe it's referred to as a hawthorn berry in English. It's so, SO good!! Glad you got a chance to try it! Love this video

I lived in San Diego and loquats are very prevalent. I would always gorge on the fruit and now I’m growing a baby loquat from a seed I planted 😆. It’s about a foot tall now, no fruit yet though!
