The reason why America has a huge immigrant population is because it was one of the few Western nations to ever loosen its immigration laws heavily at any point and allow for large amounts of immigrants to enter permenantly.
Even back then the US didn’t have the highest quality of life, living standards, or even economic mobility compared to its Western counterparts. But if you’re in a country with even worse living standards, and the first and only realistic option to go to the West and benefit from it’s prosperity presents itself, you take it. The WR then created a registration system for new govts and voluntar your owned guns. No one came to your house and rummaged through your stuff. The limited list they had of gun ownership though was seized by the Nazis when they came to power and used it against their political opponents. Again, the list was not complete BUT the gun laws they did make actually reduced laws for Germans. The prohibition were Jews but I was reading even that is not accurate and may not being personal ownership but the making of guns.
Another one people use incorrectly is for vaccines such as who would force vaccines? Nazis, when the reality is it was under the German Empire that vaccines became mandatory. This was due to small pox outbreaks but under the Weimer Republic they became hugely unpopular so they put a hold on mandatory vaccines. The Nazis came to power and made this permanent. Vaccines were voluntary now but they used propaganda to get Germans to want to get them because that would be the German thing to do and make the Fatherland strong. Oddly though, non Germans if they wanted to get one, could not. Oh well we ran out. Next guy in line, I am German. Oh yeah, we have some available. My conservative friends are that way because of propaganda and nothing else. Far too embarrassing for them to admit they’ve been lied to, duped, whatever phrase you wanna use. Even when I showed them the original drafts of ACA which were drawn up by the Koch brothers, they said because Obama did it that it’s authoritarian. Not a lot of coherent political thought, if there was, they wouldn’t be conservative.
