I find it so odd that men think they are the only ones capable of having sexual encounters without emotional attachment. As if most of what we do as humans isn’t driven by hormones. Women absolutely can have sex without emotional attachment. And plenty of men bond after sex. After knowing this, I find it hard to believe that a bunch of men are out there not bonding in some way to their sexual partners. I find it so odd that men think they are the only ones capable of having sexual encounters without emotional attachment. As if most of what we do as humans isn’t driven by hormones.
Women absolutely can have sex without emotional attachment. And plenty of men bond after sex. In fact, studies have found that men are MORE LIKELY to find sex to be a way to emotionally connect with their partners while women are more likely to view conversation as a way to emotionally connect.
After knowing this, I find it hard to believe that a bunch of men are out there not bonding in some way to their sexual partners. I think men are just more prone to compartmentalizing their feelings and reactions to outside stimuli so in reality they’re emotional intelligence is lower. i used to think like that guy, and say silly shit like men dont have an emotional attachment to sex the way women do... then one day i tried out the open relationship concept, and was seeing this girl from work that was cute but i didnt want a relationship with. things were cool til she found some other guy that she eventually got into a relationship with, and by then i got all butthurt and felt like i got dumped, even though we were never in an official relationship. it was a painful experience, i went through all the regular emotions you feel when you break up with someone.
