That was kind of the point. She bore it so they didn’t have to. After all is said and done, it’s going to be easier living with the fact that you ATE people, if you were forced to. If they had no choice, it wasn’t their fault... it’s easier to blame Octavia, then to forgive themselves.

But that’s almost worse long-term. Because now, nobody will feel guilty about eating people at all; They’re now just “doing whats necessary to survive”, and the whole human race will implode.
Also, this only explores what happens when cannibalism is a law and there’s defectors from that law to throw into the pit for perpetual food; What happens when everyone’s a cannibal, nobody goes into the pit, but somebody needs to be eaten for food still? Who do you choose to sacrifice, now that everyone follows the law equally? Do you hold a random lottery? Do you begin going after people who arent “cannibalistic enough”, inevitably leading to a society of individuals being collectively incentivized into sacrificing each other as often as possible, so that theyre not individually sacrificed? Now we have the same people who are trying to “save” humanity, stuck in a system that forces them to turn on one another for personal survival.
When you go down this dystopian rabbit hole all the way, you’ll really, really wish that you didn’t.
While that’s true, if they did have a choice, obviously more people wouldn’t eat and eventually most if not everyone would starve or have their muscles atrophy, so there wouldn’t be enough meat for them to eat.
I understand the cannibal thing from the situation but what I don’t get is why they didn’t cook it like wtf is that raw disgusting square

If she would have listened to Jaha and the others from the start and only accepted her own people into the bunker instead of hijacking something she didn't even find herself then none of this would have happened. Over population is a problem that only has so many outcomes and none of them are good. She was warned about this outcome numerous times in the start and kept ignoring the people who told her.
I think she must kill them after take the gun because if she don't kill them (in this sitution) when she says something and they don't do it they don't respect her as a leader. She shouldn't take the gun first. I think at the second one her crying, at the first one her talking slowly and soft and at the third one her nearly begging was awesome scenes.

The fifth season man, it is so *intense.* I thought nothing could beat season 2 but I will admit, the writers shook me to my core with season 5.
Season 2, 4 & 5 are my favorites - for sure.

It started getting bad when they decided to add new things that isn't even good to the100 storyline.
It's like having a story about a chess player trying to become the best player in the world. 5 seasons later he achieves his goal and an alien spaceship comes down to earth looking for their chess champion, because they want him to participate and help fight against other chess players from different universes to save their universe from destruction.

This is what I LOVED about the 100 it pushed humanity to its limits and made us question how far we would go for the people we love and to survive; it really made you think about what people are capable

I think Octavia is always going to have to shoulder some blame as the enforcer of the law, BUT I think it's absolute horseshit that for all of Season 6, everyone absolves Abby of her blame and lays all of it at Octavia's feet. Octavia enforced the rule but she's not the one that came up with it and pushed for it.

Without question the best acted scene in the entire show. Marie, Paige and Ian absolutely knocked this one out of the park. Never in my life have I felt more sad for a character than Octavia Blake. She had the absolute shittiest life, but always fought for everyone.
I’m not going to lie this shit actually traumatized me. I don’t think it’s fair that Octavia has to be the main one to carry the weight of this. This would fuck anybody up.
So, someone with crazy voices that kills people because his voices said so is innocent. We need to change the law if this is so. Because I have also crazy voices but I control them 10 years. In the life it only matter what you choose. The red pil or the blue pil.

For all the plotholes in this show this season's writing was pretty good. This scene was so well crafted because it really makes you sick to the stomach as it should! It was amazing finally getting context on how the events of the dark year pushed everyone to the absolute edge
These is the creepiest and frightening moment of the whole series. The burden became too much on Octavia and she went crazy.

this is abby's and octavia's fault. yes, octavia enforced the law but there's a scene where she tells abby that she cant make not being a cannibal a crime, and abby tells her that if she doesnt everyone dies (putting all weight of the situation on octavia). she is a 17 years old KID that had to lead an entire group of thousands of ppl that hate each other for 6 years, and during all that time she thought that they were the last of the human race (so she did even the worst things to make sure they survived). i cant understand how abby made her do that after she herself said several times that lexa n clarke (the same age as octavia) were too young to lead, but she didnt care abt octavia

This situation is obviously so messed up but Octavia is amazing for it. She’s single-handedly saving everyone by baring the burden of killing innocent people so that others would get scared, eat, and live.
That is not true. The humans could also not eat for 10 days and changes there mind. She did't controled here people by here good choses or wisdom but with fear.

But we should remember the real guilty is Abby. Octavia afraids that she isn't a good leader and she won't to be able to safe people. She wanted war then because it made her crazy. I don't think that she has a healthy mind after dark year. And for war, I can understand her mind (Okay, if I was her place I didn't do that but just I thought about her opinions) actually she just wanted the better one. She standed all of the suffering with her people and according to her idea, they stole their place.

I think both are guilty, but honestly for me everything in the bunker should be absolved. They literally had no choice other than mass starvation and leaving 8 total people as the sum of the human race (from their perspective). They couldn't even let people who wanted to starve starve because like Abby said their muscles and fat would've atrophied. It's when they get beyond the bunker that their decisions become despicable- Octavia refusing an easy chance at peace for her own power, Clarke sabotaging her own deal for Madi, Abby shocking Raven, Kane betraying Octavia and ruining the element of surprise, etc.
Abby only gave a logical solution to the problem that OCTAVIA caused. She was the one who decided to invite everyone else to the bunker without thinking it through.
@@MissElisabelle If that wasn't Octavia's fault, only as much came in as could be from the bunker accepting a mix of clans, but the amount was what it should have been just that the farm failed, it would have happened to them even if they were just skaikru.

I was actually surprised they didn't do this sooner. They were starving and surviving on half rations. And so many people dying on the arena. Wasted food source. And then later I really thought when Clarke open the secret hidden place besides the farm it was gonna be a freezer with bodies
since the farm was on its last weeks. Just makes sense.
I would argue this is the most memorable and intense scene in the entire show.

JP when you fast, it means you eat nothing for a long period of time. Eating something gross like human flesh after not eating for a long time is just... I don’t even wanna think about it.
It’s so sad because you know she doesn’t want to kill her people but you also know that’s legit the only way to survive.
My heart breaks for Octavia during this time and you can’t really see how broken she is that she had to bend their will like that. She’s a warrior with no war, and it didn’t help that all the adults around her had no input on what to do, then judged her when she had to make the tough decisions.
I feel like if Murphy was there he would’ve helped her uphold it. He’s all about survival and though he may not have been cool with the consumption concept, he would’ve kept it in place.

I mean it really does depend I’d say. Like Octavia was a good person and it wasn’t until after this scene happened that she became more of a dark person. After seeing and accepting what she did she wanted redemption and wanted to change and to be better. So I guess it’s really what you’re willing to do to make up for those actions.

If they saved less people, they could've had the space for animals. Animals would be there for the case like this, when something could go wrong. Then they would have animals to eat instead of people. The human race would survive and no one would have trauma.

You’re mistaken here, remember It wasn’t _just_ about the human race surviving it was about saving as many lives from primfaya as possible fairly. Also how exactly do you expect they’d feed all those animals in addition to the people? Most forms of livestock are untenable in a bunker like this given the amount of food they’d need to be kept healthy unless you’re talking about chickens which is pretty much the smallest they’d have access to. Even then the chickens would contribute to the gradual overconsumption of the farms crops and they’d be right back here.
If less people were saved in place of animals they’d have an even _weaker_ clan/tribe foundation in terms of numbers which isn’t good at all for defense or repopulation (especially given the conflict that was bound to happen in this season)

God this scene is burned into my brain like a bad dream. Say what you want about the CW, the acting, etc. This is the most gruesome scene I've ever seen on a TV show.
The first time I watched it was in a TH-cam video, and my reaction was full-on "she's not going to... she is... oh my god". If anyone had spoken to me, I would not have been able to respond. It made me speechless.

I thought this scene was so funny but the sad bit about the storyline was they put all that shit on Octavia and they didn't once say or admit she took the biggest brunt of it all especially Kane and I found that sad as Kane the really good guy blamed it all on Octavia but burden him not. The series lost me when Bellamy of all people couldn't forgive his sister for her madness. Like bro you and pike killed 300+ ppl in their sleep and then you helped pike kill the lover of O's life, all because someone killed his gf. Like you have no room to talk. What Octavia was dealing with was far worse than anything he or Clarke had to do the entire series. Poisoning her was absolutely necessary but to treat her the way he did after is ridiculous and just not Bellamy Blake.

@@honeybun9274 The show has been going on for quite a while. Personally, I would have preferred if they stayed on Earth longer, and didn't have the second Nuke apocalypse, Praimfaya, happen so soon. I would have loved to learn more about the grounders and their culture. It was very fascinating then, and they had the guy who made the Dothraki language make it. Season 6 I just wasn't into at all. I watched it but spent most the time on my phone. As for Octavia, I loved her progression into Blodreina. I wish they went with it more. Her complete 180 is a bit annoying to me.
