Awesome job! Love seeing other anglers stress keeping fish in the water as much as possibe. Especially the big ones. This is how you keep a great fishery such as Crowley Lake health

You might want to try the sliding indicator with the bobber stoppers

Try the Hareline version of those indicators (slip-strike or tapered slip indicator). They are better than that style as the pin is plastic. It does take a little practice to learn how hard to set the plastic so they will slip when you set the hook but not when casting. Its possible to cut into the foam part of the indicator with thin tippet but they are generally pretty good

They need to make it a one trout limit and the trout must be a minimum of 20 inches in this lake will be an absolutely trophy producer

The peg indicators aren’t the greatest. If you’re going to use them use the ones with the black plastic post. I’ve been using the oros indicators the last two years and they’re my favorite for sliding Stillwater.

But those don’t release right? How do you fish an Oros Indicator 25 feet down?

You adjust them so they just barely slide. I use the medium for 10-25 ft depth and the large for deeper. They are super buoyant which is great. Use a good quality 12-15lb mono. I nail knot backing just above the swivel to let me know when I’m at the swivel then another above the indicator to mark depth so I don’t have to keep measuring.

Why don't you share the rig setup? What kind of midge you're using What color

@@dannyspl I actually talked about it quite a bit in my video. I’m fishing two flies. One simply dropped right off of the hook of the first one about two feet but the bottom fly was taken every single time so not sure if two flies was even necessary. Fished the Zebra Midge the whole time in #18. Orange with silver ribbing, red with silver ribbing and black with copper ribbing all did equally well although it did seem at times that they were keying in on one color over the others. Orange seemed to be the preference of the Brown Trout for some reason but probably just coincidence. The leader is about 15 feet of less expensive 1x flouro to a micro swivel. Then coming off of that is 3-5 feet of good quality 4x flouro. Then I tie about 1.5 feet of good quality 5x flouro off of the end of the 4x. That creates a knot that keeps my weight from sliding down to my first fly. I use a small splitshot weight just to get down a little faster. The flies are beaded so they should get down eventually on their own but I use a little weight. Back up above the micro swivel is where I put the sliding indicator. Don’t forget to put it on before you tie it to the micro swivel or you will have to cut and retie that knot. As I said in my video I really didn’t like the Strike King indicator we were using and will try something different next time but there you go. That is the rig I always use when I am fishing nymphs under an indicator and want to get down in deeper water. The lengths that I said here can all be varied depending on how deep you are fishing. If I am going to fish different areas of Crowley with different depths I will usually have a few different rods rigged with different length leaders. This particular day we were fishing in about 20-25 feet of water but sometimes at Crowley you will fish much shallower so you might not want a 25 foot leader when you do.🤘
