- As a young boy in Honduras, Mauricio Dubon always dreamed of one day becoming a professional baseball player. In 2019, he fulfilled that dream by playing for his favorite team, the San Francisco Giants.

Como Nicaraguense que soy, me da mucha alegria y emocion ver a un Hondureño triunfando en las gramdes ligas, en Honduras no se juega baseball como en Nicaragua t esto me alegra porque los Chavalos al cer que el triunfa los anima a seguir sus pasos y de esa forma mas chavalos se van a entusiasmar en la pelota y van a imitar a Dubon y van a querer ser mejores que él, que bueno!!

Yo havia escuchado de un Hondureño en grandes ligas, pero no havia visto su historia, ahora lo seguiré todos los dias y me hago mas fan de el, espero que hoy lleguen a los playoffs ganando hoy la ultima plaza para esta temporada corta.

Dubon is the first born and raised in Honduras. Young left when he was a toddler.
So he ain’t the first Honduran in the big leagues

Went to SF in 2015 and had the opportunity to go to a Giants game, was my first time in a american sport event also. Never imagine that a honduran kid almost my age could make it through the MLB, even better with the Giants! As a honduran i feel so proud and happy. Lets go Dubon and lets go Giants!!

What an absolutely sensational story this is. I mean think about it. How many things had to go right? How hard he had to work. I'm a huge Giants fan. Watching him this year I was saying to myself, " man this kid looks really young." But now knowing the story behind his rise to the top, I will see him so much more as a person not just a player. He is quickly becoming my favorite Giant. He deserves all his success. He seems like the nicest kid in the world. Good luck Mauricio.
