Congratulations Shane ! I understand completely and remember , a Telecaster is for life , not just for Christmas ✌️😉🎸
I bought a strat professional from KC’s about 6 weeks ago. Was in their fender B stock sale and I love it. KC’s is the best music store in Melbourne IMO. Just a proper old school music store with awesome honest staff. Congrats on the new Tele!!
She's a stunner, congrats! I got my Original 50s Tele last year, it's the best guitar I own. Fender really did a great job on the Original series, enjoy it!
The original series are the best guitars Fender is making now. In my opinion. For the last 15 years Esquires and telecasters are the only guitars that inspire me. Something about them. In the bridge position there is no other guitar that sounds like it. Congratulations I've been eyeballing these for 2 years. Another one that's on my procrastination list.
I bought a 50s American original stratocaster and it's really really good, pickups sound very good . The rolled edges are a bit over done but I'm getting used to it
I agree about the bridge pickup ( at least with my 50s Strat) even beats many humbuckers equipped guitars. With the tone rolled down it's a very very good rock sound.
I've always wondered if they were only making one type of Stratocaster over the years like they did in the 50s what would it be like. They have like 5 Series. It was a lot less confusing back then.
DUDE ! best unboxing of ALL TIME !!!! WE LOVE IT WHEN U TAKE STUFF OUT OF UR CLOSET !!!!!!! it dont even matter what it is !!!!!!!!! RIP CITY !!!!!!!!
I bought mine based on your review and I couldn't be happier.
Stoked to see you got one too.
Nice. I bought an AO50s a couple of months ago; I love that it has a flatter radius 'board and taller frets than the AV50 making it that bit more 'friendly'. One thing I didn't like was how sticky the nitro lacquer was from new. Couple of months later and it's smooth and sticky-free. Love it.
Good to know, some lunatic guitar reviewer took note of the stickiness but his advice was to sand it off
Shane, listening to it on my laptop, but it sounds every bit of what an amazing Tele should sound like. Glad you found it and having a blast. Maybe next year for a new Tele for me. Fingers crossed. Merry Christmas.
Thanks a lot, Thomas! That neck pickup is really something special. I have never played another one I could afford that is this good.
It's good to have lots of Teles. Don't let anyone try to tell you different.
zd351 It looks exactly like his other Tele. It must be nice.
🎸👍
@@landonbailey You would say that ! 😁
@@jonathanhandsmusic They all have different personalities Jonathan. My '52 is called Blondie, and she likes it rough 😉
@@shaunw9270 I would!
I love Fender Telecasters. Your old one has a deeper yellow color on the neck and fingerboard, and that's what I like about it. I already used coffee and used tea bags to color a couple necks / fingerboards including my Tele. Time to add a little yellow tint and gloss to my Tele's fingerboard just like yours. Every time I see your yellow neck/fingerboard Tele I fall in love with it all over again.
As soon as you played it at the beginning of the video, the neck pickup sounded magic, like the best Fender single coils made.
Congrats on your new amazing guitar brother!
Thanks, Kfir! I played it live tonight and it totally rocked. It was better than I had hoped. I hope things are well on your side of the World mate :-)
Congrats Shane, it sounds great! My wife got me a 2001 American Standard Natural Tele for Christmas, I’m exited. Merry Christmas!
That's awesome, Nice wife, Nice guitar. My wife bought me a nice looking budget Strat for Xmas I wanted for modding purposes. I'll make it sound like a beast
Congrats Shane. Yes, Santa came early here too. I went in to buy a Gibson SG (in the first shop) and nearly walked out with a Reverend Greg Koch signature, but I couldn't justify that sort of money essentially for a non-fender tele. Went to the second shop (again for the SG) and quality issues again with Gibson and ended up getting not one, but two guitars: A PRS SE245 and an electromatic Gretsch G5622T. Cost less than the Gibson combined! But the played and sounded great and they've both been on the list for a while. So once again, didn't get the Gibson by choice.
Fender on box + tweed case + red velvet interior = Say no more!
Your video on the fender American original 50s Strat was the reason I bought mine, what a guitar it covers every genre. I never enjoyed single coils until I played this guitar...through my brand new dr z MAZ 18 head it is killer
It's a beauty! What a great bit of kit to add to your gear. I hope it serves you well for years to come sir
I got the exact same guitar Shane, in a lefty too. I love it.
This is your best cinematography yet! Really nice. And I love the intro track. That should be a song
Hey Shane I bought a Blue 60's Original Tele same flame neck plays and sounds and looks awesome now I need the 50's Very nice
Leaving the hang tag on the guitar for the entire video makes Shane the Minnie Pearl of guitarists.
Sounds great Shane! Best of luck with it. When you connect with a guitar instantly like you did, You KNOW it's meant for YOU.
I especially loved that medium overdrive crunch you got at the 6:00 minute mark! It recorded so well and had a very organic musical woody tone to it associated with blues and of course classic rock that I personally love. There is something about a snappy Tele bridge pickup with warm overdrive that sounds so damn good. Give us some updates when you can with different amp/pedals combinations..
Be well...
much better than buying hookers, booze and dope. congrats!
Obviously you've never done dope with a couple of hookers while all drinking some fine Scottish whisky. Oh yeah
@@mrtambourineman6107 haha
Ya and cheaper! Its expensive enough to rent hookers, never mind buying one 🤣.
Best all purpose guitar. Right up my alley! I need three or four more. Thanks Shane!
I really want one of these things! Great guitar!
I have a original series 60s telecaster . ..love it..enjoy. My new guitar day was a couple weeks ago , got a new PRS DGT , beautiful guitar , plays awesome . Merry Christmas Shane .
Congratulations Shane! I think it’s beautiful and through the Marshall, you are getting a very full and chimey (spelling?) sound. I have a new guitar day tomorrow. I will receive a PRS 35th SE C24, and I am really hoping it will be a great guitar. Can’t wait to see you do some live music with your new tele!
The sound of the neck pick up...wow!
I swear I clicked the like button as soon as I saw the hard case 😅 .. and it appeared to be a tele .. my favorite guitar of all time .
Congratulation and merry Christmas brother .
Telecasters are awesome! I bought mine almost 11 years ago and still a great guitar. I know it's a Squier,but for $350.00 , I didn't go wrong.
Hey Shane, it appears that you found a winner there! It sounds great! Merry Christmas!
Congrats on the new Tele. I too am a lefty and have two Tele’s: a Fender Player (Mexican) and a Fender Professional (USA). On the review video you did for the Original 50’s Strat, you seemed to really bond with that guitar so maybe that should be your first new guitar of 2020. The lefty version is great in the white colour, Ash body and maple fretboard.
Excellent twang in the middle position and lovely blues tone in crunch setting. Suites your style to a T.
Lovely. I've had mine a little over a month now and I still can't get over what a great instrument it is. I traded my Gretsch 6120-1960 Nashville for mine. I have one minor issue; the sticky nitro on the neck-although it seems to be getting better the more I play. In my humble opinion it's a Custom Shop model in all but name; it's that good.
That Tele sounded awesome, well done on getting such a sweet deal on it, fantastic early Christmas present to yourself 😀
Hey Shane....Way to go with the new Tele ... Yep, dual NGD for me for Xmas.... A Squier Classic Vibe 70's Custom Tele in three tone burst, and a Epi 335 Pro arrived under my Xmas tree. Very happy man here...
Fantastic playing as always, Congrats on finding the new Telescope!
Even though I'm pretty new to guitar since I have been learning for about a year, I decided to take it more seriously. And I bought the fender ultra strat sss in texas tea along the blackstar silverline standard amp. Loving this setup so far :)
I'd been looking for a Tele for a few years. Bought a Vintera 50's modified (Baja model), love it. The Original 50's neck was a bit too big for me but, I do have a 50's original series Strat. For me it's just the perfect traditional Strat and, that soft V neck is my dream profile.
Congrats on the new Tele. Merry Christmas
Beautiful Tele with awesome tone. Congrats - and Merry Christmas!
That looks beautiful, and the tones are gorgeous!
Happy NGD, Shane! It was also a NGD for me to but mine is quite different, a Solar Guitars E2.6TBR! Metal!
Oh my heavens, that Tele sounds perfect!
What a beautiful tele. Congratulations on a new axe Shane!
sounds fantastic! sounds like more output than an american standard with the 50s pickups.
Mum's 80th tomorrow, so won't be tuning in. Will catch the replay! Congrats Shane! (For whatever you've bought!)
DMSProduktions 80 is a good innings man.
@@A.D.D.O.C.D.T Yeah, but NOT when you got dementia!
DMSProduktions True ,still sure she had a good life if she made it to 80.
All the best
@@A.D.D.O.C.D.T No, not really.
@@A.D.D.O.C.D.T Lmao, gotta stay positive, I can appreciate that! :)
How bout that! Nice. I had to budget down and just have a new pedal for Christmas. I have JHS Pulp n Peel coming in a day or so.
Lucky you don't have a partner who says, "But you've already got a yellow one". Awesome choice, cheers.
Mine said (of my SX telecaster purchase) "why you bought another one of those guitars?"
1 - it's a Telecaster copy and my other guitars are Stratocasters
2 - just listen to the sonic difference
3 - look at the Lake Placid blue
4 - here's my bonus cheque
The conclusion was 4 makes me attractive and the £139 was considered acceptable if I give up claim to the rest of the bonus. I negotiated a Laney Cub 12r as settlement and couldn't be more pleased.
Just wait for next year - some Sire and possibly a Glarry bass are likely to appear.
These things allow one to play the blues and make it thru another year. Hell there should be a tax deductable element on medical grounds for creative equipment - healthy mind healthy body.
Ironically I covet a yellow Glarry P bass. Not even sure why but for £71 shipped who cares.
Good on ya mate. Happy days.
Awesome new guitar! Love it Shane!
Awesome. I didn't think I wanted a Telecaster until I heard this!
I was looking at the 60s original Tele ,man they are nice.
Good to hear an Aussie voice for a change too.
Nice mate. congrats. NGD for xmas was a 83 usa strat for me. couldnt be happier with it
Congratulations 🎉🎊!!!!! There’s nothing wrong with another Telecaster!!! I’ve thought about getting that same guitar being that I would like to have a Tele in the collection. Perhaps one day!! Cheers!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶🎼
Of course you need a Telecaster to go along with that twin. Lol
Guitar Ocd I like the way you think!!😁
can't afford a 52, but some of these reissues are great. I bought the american pro2 75th anniversary and the fender squier starcaster. both are incredible guitars.
Nice guitar, Shane! I need to get some of mine up to snuff rather than get new ones. Though I do have a bunch of old gear I'm not using so I may whittle down and trade some stuff and see what I can wrangle. My most recent purchases is a PRS S2 Vela semi hollow I bought at Sweetwater Gearfest in June. It's a great guitar, you should try one out.
Congrats for the great guitar, Shane.
Sounds very nice, very airy .. merry Xmas from N.Ireland Shane.
I've got a new guitar on the way. It's a Kiesel Type X headless guitar. Kinda the complete opposite from a Tele, lol. It won't be delivered until probably February because they don't build it until you order it. Nice Tele, dude!
Sounds like it kicks hinney, and the look on your face shows you likes it, a bunch! Good on you!
I own one as well and it's a great guitar to play. I had to sand the back of the neck though the extra lacquer was bothering me. It gets played a lot!!! The pure Vintage 52 pups are a winner with the fat neck.
Congrats man. It's a beauty.
congrats on your new guitar bud! i hope to get a tele someday
Proper tele sound. Congrats. ENJOY
Looks like a Tele, sounds like a Tele, feels like a Tele, tastes like a Tele, must be a Tele. Congrats on the new purchase and merry Christmas.
Lol 😆 I say that when I get a new Strat.
Well, Merry Xmas to myself, says Shane. If it feels good and looks good, and you feel good as a result, then no need for any justification. Yes looks and sounds great Shane, and your playing, as always, does it justice.
Thanks, Rick!
Nobody gets as many boxes ticked than you mate :) We only live once , buy heaps of gear. Happy new year. Aloha
happy new guitar day Shane
Pretty soon we'll see Shane on a video about guitar hoarding. You have to get to a point where you're happy with what you have. 10+ years ago I had 11 electric guitars. I've sold off all of those and re-acquired five more electrics. Three are semi-hollows and two are hollowbodies, one thick and one thin. All of them are modified from stock and have different pickups and pickup types. The fat hollow is my slide guitar. They all sound and play different. I can honestly say I'm happy with what I have. Every time I think I haven't been playing one of them much and it's time to sell it, I pick it up, play it, and remember why I've kept it.
Every time you think you are going to add to the collection then it's time to think about selling off one or two. I'd say at a maximum only have no more than five.
Merry Christmas to you mate ! 😎🎸🎄🎁🎀
Nice. Congratulations that’s a beauty and sounds awesome !
Congrats on the new guitar Shane! Every guitar needs a twin! Haha
Merry Christmas mate!
Exactly like mine, i really love this guitar !
Hi Shane,
I brought a 50's sunburst strat from KC's last year and got a great price too ! Would love a 50's tele as well, I think these are the best series fender are making. Congrats and have great Xmas.
Never feel bad for another of the same guitar mate, I'm rocking 5 strats :)
Great video and great licks like always, Cheers
Have always had a thing for that look on a Tele...killer! Saw an interesting lefty in a shop recently and immediately thought of you and the Guitar Search. Saturday alert going off! Hehe! Sounded great! 😎🎸
It never ends...
The black hole of the bottomless pit...
🎄🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶!🎵🎵🎵🎵!🎶🎶🎶🎶!🎵🎵🎵🎵!
Kuitaristi - it never should.
I just bought one and I'll get "The Beast" next week! I did "something CRAZY and also bought a Professional II Tele in Alder and a Rosewood Fret Board. I could always send it back although it does have different PUPS and neck profile, electronics too.. And I hate "sending stuff back".. So I'll prob just keep them both, set them up slightly different, maybe put 9's on it and 10's on The Butterscotch Blondie.. ; ) Aye Mate! Nice Video! Keep up the good work! : )
awesome new axe man
A guitar that looks just like the one you’ve already got....pretty much sums up fender’s business model forthe last 65 years
Thank Christ ! ...and I'm an atheist 👍
...not to mention all the clones ... I think it is called being iconic right? I mean Ned Steinberger tried to make a difference - I got a modern copy - but how did that work out?
Stephen Hookings fender don’t even try to do anything different, they just change the names every few years
Sounds beautiful.
That’s a sweet new tele you got yourself
Wow...that does sound amazing.
Oh oh Looks like we're all suffering a bit of Christmas GAS.....Two weeks ago I bought the American 60's Strat. 3 days ago, I bought a custom shop foam green Strat. Time to lock away my finds access.
"Any of that relicing you see is just through use."
As it should always be. :-D
You can never have too many Telecasters. Right Shane and Lando27 🎸😊
This would show up when I'm daydreaming about trying to find myself an actual vintage Tele and selling most of my other gear to pay for it!
Good on you mate, that sounds great.
HNGD Shane!! She looks and sounds fantastic!!
Great guitar, love that tweed case
nice robert cray poster or picture i have never seen one thank you.
Sounds awesome I can tell
I just bought one of these today!
How're you finding it now that you've had it a few months? I'm mulling over one of these or a American professional ii tele.
Congratulations, Shane! What a lovely 2019 Christmas pressie for yourself!! Can I see a Tele comparison coming on? Original single coils va Bardons?
Hey Shane Merry Christmas. Nice Tele, sounds great. I got my Chrissy present a few weeks back, I picked up a DBZ Diamond Renegade ST Plus in metallic white with silver stripes. Also got a great deal from Scotty at Mudgee Music, a 40% off Xmas sale. Looks great, sounds great, light as a feather and yet has so much sustain. The Buckers sound really full yet have so much bite when you want it. I really enjoy playing it, just like you with your Tele. Cheers and keep the great videos coming.
So we will be getting a shoot out video between the 2 Fender Tele's &... the Harley Benton Tele?
I concur!! I’d love to see a shootout vid between them all, if psb. Great vid and thanks....
Sweet as a well cut nut Shane ….. Enjoy!
Yes you should got the black one
