Those damn roches indeed - Maggie, Terry and Suzy had the audacity to make what is arguably one of the best albums of all time, and then go on with their lives - all the while weaving the family history of the McGarrigle/Wainwright/Thompson families into our lives - what gifts they have given us! Thx for sharing this "family" story. I miss the excitement of the next Roches release, the next concert, their next collaboration.Maybe next time around. Damn Roches. P.S. damn, miss Maggie!🥰
Darn right, we miss Maggie (and "darlin Kate" McGarrigle) too. We were lucky enough to see the Roches play in Manchester UK not long before Maggie died. When Ma Roche was still alive we had a regular Christmas eve email exchange as I listened to the Roches Christmas album ...
@@MythtafeyeZero Church, Can We Go Home Now, and I highly recommend the collection CD with so many remastered songs. Suzzy wrote two amazing novels! So much love for them! And all who appreciate their music! ❤🎉❤
If anyone tried to make a family tree of the folk scene, it would be as convoluted as Celtic knotwork! For all the broken hearts, I'm so grateful that these talented people all knew each other. What great gifts they have given the world in the form of music.
Excellent trip through some music families. On a trip to England a decade ago I was visiting Miranda Ward and while I was there Linda Thompson called. I got say hello to her. Nice memory to have

And of the One Church album? Love the Robert Fripp inclusion.
This is truly "Singing my life in his words..." those damn Roches, McGarrigles etc...are in my head like scripture.

All of this is just brilliant, the melody, the words, the artwork! Makes me disappointed that I am not from one of those families!
Beautiful song, the melody, the lyrics, the slightly sad quality, the voices. A piece of beauty.

This was a gift to hear tonight! ❤
Terrific video!
Outstanding tribute! I can't take it. Thanks.

Ooooh is this heartbreakingly beautiful.
Love the video, music and singing. Very poignant.

So cool
Fabulous. No vitriol, unlike some of the other participant's contributions. ❤
