As many scholars emphasize, particularly in the study of historical subjects like the Civil War, nuances abound, and the narrative is seldom black or white. History's truth often resides in the gray zones, and this holds especially true for the complex society of the Confederate States of America Rather than a simple dichotomy of Blacks and Whites, the antebellum South witnessed a blend of races over two centuries leading up to the Civil War. Written and hosted by Dr. Bryan M. Rigg. Forgotten History is a 10th Legion Pictures Production.

Most of the pictures presented were actually from the Union Colored Troops. The first one was the New Orleans guard which deflected to the Union.
Blacks serving in the CSA army were mostly slaves in secondary works. It wasnt until a few weeks before Appommatox that CSA congress allowed some black regimes who barely saw some action.

People seem to gloss over, tribes owned and had slaves, of all colors, blacks owned slaves, and if wasn’t for warring factions in Africa, selling each other, slave trade in the americas would have been significantly less

Slavery started with blacks in Africa. It was brought to America by a black man, the 1st slave owner was a black man. There were over 3700 black slave owners in the U.S. at the start of the War for Southern independence.

Here in florida there was a kindly gentleman who was a grand genealogists. His tent at many ACW events opened up the narrow minds of many white😮 & blacks on the particpation of blacks with the confederate armed service. His presentations were well structured full of facts photos & letters, legal scripts naturally copies of originals but none the less supportive of the real history. He was also a member of the sons of confederacy at local chapter here in central florida. We met him at narcoosa park. Yes, he was BLACK....and a very proud american as well as his heritage of being the ancestor of confederate soldier.
One must remember. The lincolnites worked over time during the 11 years of re- construction to destroy any traces of southern history replacing it with misnomers & twisted half truths supporting their agenda. This has always happened historically to the vanquished. The roman senate did it to Cesar...TRUE history is always buried in the grey area between what is written by the victorious & the rural folklore of the vanquished.😉

They aren't forgotten, it is that they are overshadowed by those Blacks that fought for the Union. What's so sorrowful about this point is that those ADOS/FBA aren't really discussed either. Both are considered as "also attended".

Once one gets past the Narrative of the DC CARTEL that prevails to this day (slavery) one finds that the CSA and the Constitution were actually perfectly aligned and the War For Southern Independence was historically and spiritually 100% legal and correct.

That's why they didn't fight lol, outside of a rare rare rare RARE case, such as the singular only unit officially raised at the end of the war (with a whole 200 people) and the 1st Native Guard (quickly disbanded by the confederate government, never saw combat, AND most members switched sides) they did not fight, the singular rare case is just an exception that proves the rule
